I almost had a heart attack when...after defeating the Reaper on Rannoch....I wasn't initially given the charm/intimidate options, only allowing Legion to upload the code or kill him.

Man, on first playthrough mine wasn't high enough, so naturally I had to choose Tali. Hearing Legion say "creator Zorah does this unit have a soul" as he died was heartbreaking.

Same thing happened with me. Sroka's delivery of the line after that was one of, if not the best in the game.

I would have chosen Legion and his Geth, but thank God for getting the persuade options right after that conversation.

I like Tali but if I had been forced to wipe someone out it would have been the Quarians for their goddamn stupidity.

A few? Han Gerrel and Xen are not alone, else the Conclave would have forced them out of it. Many quarians want this.. The Geth did not start this, the Quarians did, the Geth did not want to wipe the Quarians out but the Quarians wanted to wipe out the geth. As for Tali...well it's a sad thing but I do not find it acceptable at all to wipe out an entire goddamn race for a woman you love, when that race was trying to commit genocide on the Geth and the Geth defended themselves.

Gerrel has his chance to stop firing even without the charm option, he has the option to retreat when you take down the Geth dreadnought, instead he goes in to attack and his captains follow his orders without question.

Them getting wiped out due to their stupidity as an entire race, except a few people like Korris and Tali, is very much deserved. The Geth prime states.

"We regret the deaths of the creators."

Shepard: "They made their choice"

I certainly prefer the peace option, and I like that you can convince Gerrel he is being an idiot.

I almost kissed my screen  and that poor Garrus, seriously the only thing that guy can do is shoot that sniper rifle and calibrate.
When Shepard was talking to the Primarch in the normandy and he ask about garrus, primarch said something like, "He told me something about calibrations" what Shepard said? "I KNOW".
So garrus cannot compete against Shep for Tali, she love Shep to much guys, dont be jealous

I didn't hesitate to kill off Shepard even though I had enough EMS to get the ending where he lives, because I don't think a solution that wipes out a race of innocent people is any kind of solution at all.

Having to choose between the Geth and Tali would give me pause, though. Like you, I don't find choosing her and her people (many of whom are practically begging to be destroyed) acceptable in that situation. But if I put myself in Shepard's shoes I still might do it. Doing so would imbue their relationship with an additional layer of tragedy--just what this games needs, right?--and sully much of its beauty, but that's love for you. Crazy, awful, cruel-ass love.

Thank you, BioWare writers, for letting me Take A Third Option on this one.

Yeah I'm so glad we get that peace option. Both Tali and Legion's deaths for siding with the other are devastating and always gives me pause at the thought of choosing between them.

I have to agree on this...that was pretty crazy because she said it fast in the heat of the moment. Then Shepard reminded her that she said it at the end before you leave to go end things.

I think Tali's romance was f***ing beautiful: incredibly well-written, with a hell of a lot of emotion between Shepard and Tali (Mark Meer and Ash Sroka did an amazing job bring these two to life).

I agree with this. I enjoyed it all the way down to the end when she says..."I want more time".... and put his head to her helmet...."whatever happens..."   after that conversation, it hit me.....this is the end.

One thing... Gerrel is indeed an arse... but destroying the geth dreadnought while they had the chance was the right choice from a military perspective.

If they (the quarians) didn't do that it would basically have been leaving the reaper geth with a superweapon that could destroy the quarians entirely.

But daaaaamn was I pissed at Gerrel... I thought for a second that there was a chance to negotiate now that Legion was free but there wasn't.



Then I got helluva angry at bioware... I think that if Shepard had argued for war in ME2 this should have been the result.

In me2 my shep argued for peace and here was the perfect place for choices to actually matter a great deal. If you made the peace argument you should have ended with "just" having to negotiate peace. -.-

I think that is what hit me about the ending more than anything. The thought of Tali and Shep separated forever...

Sure...believe that one quarian and ignore what is said in ME1 and ME2 about the Quarian government. The Admiralty board does not have the ultimate power unless they are unanimous in their decision and resign after that, which is clearly not what happened. The Conclave VOTED for war.

If anyone honestly thought some nice words at the end of Tali's msission would really make a difference, then they are wrong.

ME3.5 about shepard becoming councillor (heck the games can be construed as campaigning anyway)... so plenty of room for Li's there.
