fun fact: that image is actually not Tali. the original color was more red and it was photoshopped.
Well, it looks nice nonetheless. And that's what imagination is for >.>

That was one of the things that stood out to me, but I think her waist line and hips stood out to me. I remember staring at her in the elevators and was like, "She is really attractive." Then I thought I was weird until I went on the forums (this was like 4 years ago) and saw she had a fanbase. I felt bettersitesunseen wrote...
Some characteristics of someone always catches your eyes when you first see them. when i first played ME1 and saw tali for the first time it wasn't the helmet the metal arm piece it was definitely those chicken feet!

I dont think its strange, now ive read some diffrent fanfics some really well done, others i mean my god who thinks this way, very disturbing stuff. i get having a imagination but WAY to dark. To me tali makes me think of unselfishness, trust in others and the ability to look past the whats seen on the surface. just overall good vibes,FsDxRAGE wrote...

They apparently use shotguns because their general role in combat doesn't involve front line assault or engagements at long range. Engineers are more likely to be maintaining vehicles/artilliery or involed in construction/demolition operations. Since their job isn't to engage the enemy directly, engineers are given self defense orientated weapons (like shotguns) instead of assault weapons.
Also, I'd like to point out that snipers fill a very specific role on the battlefield that is completely different to that of combat engineers. They are two different roles with different purposes, each requiring specialised training. It wouldn't make sense for Tali to use sniper rifles given that her background suggests she was never trained to use them.

Additionally to that, Engineers in most games are usually based around having some form of Anti-Mechanical attribute, be that the engineers EMP grenades, or anti vehicle Mines. Which in a way transmutate into Hacking/Drone - or the repair armour in TFC to added shield bonus.
The "Engineer" role is already defined as being as it is in many games, and other games tend to follow that trend, and it wouldnt make sence not to, as typically an Engineer is a support, not a combat class, it gets things to do the jobs for it, when it is behind the scenes, not that in any game they cant be front line, like placing anti vehicle mines underneath all the vehicles in enemy spawn and watching them cry about baserape.
Still, its a defined role, and very similar in every game with Engineering. when it comes to guns and support roles. You rarely see "preventative engineering" with an Engineer with a sniper rifle shooting the infantry with the launchers, just doesnt hold water, and being near or behind vehicles, or at bases tends to mean close quarters combat.
Of course in terms of mass effect, there is rarely a point for a sniper rifle, and it becomes a hinderance due to the vast use of medium/close quarters combat, but I digress, I'd have thought Engineering was a bit obvious.

I am interested to see what BW do for ME3, as (from what I understand) the engineer class has had a bit of an overhaul, and is now capable of creating some kind of 'automated weapon platform'. It may well be perceived as very 'Team Fortress', but it was a good idea for that game, and I think it will work well for ME3.
Maybe if Tali/engineers had magnetic mines that could be thrown on the floor, where they would roll around and be attracted to the metallic parts of enemies, then stick to them and either explode or burn through and sever a robots limb?

i doubt it because she only had a small fever or at least thats what I'm guessing based on how she describes it to youconrad winkles wrote...
Has anyone thought that maybe if you did Tali in 2 she might die in three because of how sick she got after words? That would be a big middle finger to all Tali fans i think.

her reaction was pretty mild. I don't think we'll have to worry about that.

^^ (with references to Evil_Sarevok) I thought the engineer in ME1 was good, but for ME2, they seeemed just a bit 'underpowered' (although Tali's 'drone' was a life saver when fighting against the Scion). The original 'Team Fortress' Engineer worked really well, and they could do very interesting things to control the battlefield. I found them more fun than any other class.

In regards to power diversity? Yeah engineers dissapointed. However if used right engineers broke the game man. Not underpowered at all.
