Since Krogan are evoluted dinosaurs, Salarian are amphibians, Asari are evoluted octopi (lol) and Turian are.. I dunno.. weird.. It makes sense that they don't have any body hair.

What I think is fascinating is that Quarians having hair might give us a hint that their origins were most likely like humans. Primates.
Ask Jalik. He seems to know a awful lot about Quarians and all of the other 'primitive' races, despite the fact that his role was merely a soldier, destined to fight against the reapers. Let's just hope that if Bioware decides to reveal Jalik's thoughts, it's not something crazy like, "Oh we migrated part of your race to some other planet," or, "We managed to shoot down a reaper ship full of humans that happened to be over Rannoch." I don't see how it could be possible, given their biology and such, so unless bioware slips on a banana, it should be unlikely to happen.
The only way that I could see humans being related to quarians is if both of them were on a big life tree, where their parents were universal, while humans were Amino-Dextro and quarians Dextro-Amino. Other than that...not likely.

Nah, I don't think BioWare would screw up the storyline with more space magic.
By the way, Turians and Quarians are Dextro-Amino and Humans/Asari/etc. Levo-Amino.

Oh yes, and is harder when you don't know if they will do it or not.

So humans and Quarians are the only race in the galaxy that have hair, yet they can't eat the same food without dying, despite looking so similar? Apparently the Mass Effect gods are real a-holes.
Well, batarians have hair.

Do they? I've never left a batarian not a charred pile of flesh long enough to actually notice
Just the different protein structures mean humans and quarians are definently not relatives on the tree of life, two completely different trees for one... it is possible that Quarians are evolved mammals though.
As for the asari... seriously who knows?

It's interesting to think about that. I mean.. If Quarians were also primates, it may point towards the direction human evolution is going. Having 3 fingers must be dandy

Javik has some very interesting things to say about Quarians... and Tali/Shepard's relationship in general. I swear this game had me busting out laughing at least every 15 minutes.

It's best not to think about it too hard.

I missed ALL sorts of commentary on stuff like that apparently... same with ME2, apparently you can go to Mordin and ask for tips about sexin up Quarians....

Well they are the most similar to humans among the other races, maybe their DNA is similar to humans DNA in some aspects.
Which is, at best, a mirror image (dextro opposite) in some aspects with other random bits of completely different crap thrown in. In other words, still completely incompatible.

Really? All I know is that Javik knows what a quarian is despite the presence of their suits, and that he is aware of the relationship Tali and I are engaged in. Oh, and that we're all primates, but that applys to everyone. Then again, it was late in the game before I got him, so I probably missed out on what I could get out of him.
I'm curious as to what he thought of us being together. If I were to guess, based on his renegade nature, it would be something like:
"Disgusting creatures! How can you tolerate such a difference!?"
"Throw her out the airlock, Shepard."
"You will kill her if you keep doing this."
"Clueless humans...wanting to fall in love with everything they meet and satisfy their urges."
"How does the quarian manage to tolerate you?"
"In the empire, such engagement is punishable by the death of both parties involved and their children."

He also teases Tali over the intercom, and it's hilarious.
*Grabs popcorn and gets ready to listen*
Unless your talking about the one where Tali is drunk, then...this conversation is over.

More like: "When I oberserved your species previously your ancestors would attempt to fornicate with rocks and other objects, apparently not much has changed though you have at least moved up to living beings"

Ha! And the best part about it is that it's true! We humans are always eager to satisfy our urges and purge it out of our systems whenever we get a chance. Might even be true for the quarians as well...
