I believe you mean, "Mating between species. A pointless exercise."
50,000 years ago, that might have been true, but not today. Not sure who would enjoy the exercise more, Tali or Shepard. Considering Tali's been locked up in that suit for...gosh, almost her whole life? I'm leaning towards Tali...

, and yes watching her accidently herself off a cliff is devastating, but you have to admit the scene is masterfully done. Watchin Han'gerrel foolishly charge at the geth fleet was pretty epic.
