I didn't romance Tali, but i did have a great interest in seeing her face - seeing ANY quarian face to be honest. My disappointment wasn't because she was too human looking or not pretty enough or whatever, i didn't care about that. What really, and mean REALLY pissed me off was the sheer lazyness of how they showed her face, i mean a photo?! A friggin photo?! and ONLY if you romanced her? Thats not doing right by the fans, not one bit. Render a face in 3D, give us a 2 minute conversation with her without the mask, how hard could that be?? Very unprofessional in my opinion.
I know, they spent all that time doing that Ign woman lol

After all that time, the fans were worth nothing more than a photo. Shows how much they really cared.

In my own opinion, its far superior than what we were given. A fan on deviantart came up with a higher quality photoshop than the "profesionals" at bioware. As a work of art, its certainly superior to a quick, subpar photoshop of a stock photo. The cannon photo is on par with the quality of work was doing in highschool art class.
Anyway, i guess im more wondering about the artistic elements and design of this portrayal. I think its in the middle between the "aliens should look alien" crowd that i belong to, and those that wanted tali to be hot. I would have preferred her more alien still, on par with garrus or thane. Her personality would more than make up for it. But its a good compromise; better than a 3 fingered white girl, but still human enough to match the codex entry that described them as remarkably human like. Only real gripe i have is the ear size.

Nope, don't like that one very much.
It's far more creative than what Bioware gave us. I mean thhose guys got paid for it. Give credit to this artist.
I would have gone the extra distance and given her violet skin with slits in place of ears.
There is another famous human looking fan made face but that one looked 20% cooler.

It's technically very well executed and a good piece of work. But that doesn't mean I like it.

Nice piece of art, detail is amazing. However I prefer the face they gave us.Butcher_of_Torfan wrote...
I'm wondering what the Talimancers think of this. It was just up on reditt, a fan redesign of a quarian's face

On Tali's Face
We
eventually decided that she gives you a memento of her pictures, but the
team was throwing around a lot of pictures and designs until we decided
on something and said "Yup, that's her".
...I really hope they're joking. They just flat out came out and said they didn't even put any effort if this is true.

Remember that most of the picture is lensedlared out. They could make some changes for a 3d model with out it being a retcin.RVonE wrote...

Furthermore, the romance is too less, even though it is romantic. Liara romance has much more content.

2. Make the endings an indoctrination
3. Add a true ending that can be happy if you tried hard.
4.???????
5. Mass profit.

Just found this on a site:

Mass Effect 2 Decisions
+2 for Tali is exonerated at her trial (eg NOT exiled)
+2 for destroyed the heretics
+1 for resolving the Tali/Legon conflict with a renegade or paragon solution
As noted in this answer, if you did not import a game and started a new mission in ME3 you will have saved Tali, Tali will have been exiled by her people and Legion was never activated and thus the heretic mission would have have appeared. Ergo this avenue is closed if you started a new game file.
Mass Effect 3 Decisions
+1 for N7 Mission Destroy the Geth Squadron on Rannoch (aka fighter base)
+1 for N7 Mission Save the Admiral (not his men, the admiral)
You must also complete Legion's Mission in ME3 or the peace options will note be available. You need a high reputation to get the Paragon/Renegade options to appear.
If you rewrote the heretics in ME2 instead of destroying them, and still manage to achieve peace, you'll get more war assets but there will be less Quarians.

You need 5 Peace points to manage to save both.
Well regardless, it isn't possible to save Legion or the Geth VI let alone have it as a squadmate.
I KNOW, GEEZ!
I was talking about saving both the GETH and the QUARIANS.

Honestly, I'm glad that Tali wasn't a LI in ME1 - it would've totally change the dynamic of the Tali/Shepard relationship if she had been, and I quite like how it turned out with starting and developing the romance in ME2 (gave their relationship a level of friendship and trust based on their past history that would then evolve into mutual love).Naltair wrote...
Again her age was not a factor, they just didn't expect people to like her as much as fans did.forthary wrote...
Heh, I guess I can see now why I could understand Tali not being a romance option in ME1...I guess Bioware didn't like the idea of a spectre dating a 'would-be' adult on her pilgramige...though it is strange how I somehow began to love her in the first game, like she had that special charm or whatever. I feel sad that I missed out on a opportunity to help her complete her Pilgrimige, though that was because it was my first playthrough, and I felt that, at the time, talking to people would only annoy them if it wasn't about the mission.
Believe it or not, I could actually hear Tali talk in the first Mass Effect game without the mask filtering her speech. Probably some sort of helmet bug, whenever your helmet is forced off after it is forced on, it does that for all characters, including Tali, even though she has to wear a helmet all the time. Makes me wonder if she ever worked in the cartoon field with how cute her voice was without the mask.
This.
She not being romanceable on ME1 is what set up the ground for the romance in ME2.

Although I'm not sold on the shear thickness of the asari-esque head flanges here, I must say this is a brilliant job. Although I'm really surprised that many haven't pointed out that this is a version based on this picture, which when it first showed up became a bit of a fan favourite amongst us if I recall:

I did start work on a Tali sculpture a while ago, but when I moved to uni I sort of lost the maquette scale drawing. I'll try to find it again as I doubt I'll be able to draw it again to exactly the same scale as before.

Just the fact that it was a stock photo is annoying.
