I've said it before. I liked what was there, but wanted more.
I can understand people feeling a bit jealous of Liara, but then her character is written to be both very emotional and very expressive while maintaining the level of maturity you'd expect from an Asari scientist. Her whole race is pretty much like that and she's like a super Asari in that regard. They are also very sexually expressive, while Quarians spend almost their whole lives in a suit, in a space ship, surrounded by their own people, who are also in suits.
So really it's not a surprise that the romances are dealt with in different ways. Some people have felt Liara was forced down their throat, but I don't think that was quite the case. More that she is just much more up front with emotional things then pretty much anyone else you can romance. While her race are stereotyped as galactic ****s for a reason (not necessarily a fair one).
Tali on the other hand is much more like a human really and is a much more complex character. With her, it's always felt to me like you had to get to know her, and over time you find out just how special she is. But it's not all right up in your face all the time and really if it was, it wouldn't really be the Tali we love.
(hopefully the thread hasn't moved on too far again for this to seem relevant anymore)
(UPDATE: Yeah it did. I really should have bothered to quote someone for context. *shrug*)
Yes, but... I really can see so many parts where more dialogue and insight into tali and sheps relationship would have been possible.... they kinda stuck tali to the sidelines in this one..... less so than the other characters of ME2, but definitely more than I would have liked.Ampmaster wrote...
I very much enjoyed the relationship with Ms. vas Normandy with out the inclusion of any skin. The intimacy was in the tone and words and the arc itself was great. That said... it could have used a longer premission sack time sequence. An actual conversation, that type of thing shouldn't be too much to ask me thinks.
Anyway I'm on my way to my St Patrick's day party with my kilt and emergency induction port. I'll see you all later this evening or tomorrow.

Yeah there is just so much more to work with, and so much more that does not feel forced. It's kind of disappointing Bioware didnt realize it to its full potential, but I guess I'll just live with the side dish they gave us...lomifeh wrote...

Very well said and I agree. Tali is definitely more complex imho. Liara did grow quite a bit over time but Tali had a bigger arc from just entering her adulthood, to becoming a woman, and finally to becoming a leader of her people. And then she basically says she could not do it without you.
...indeed. What was present was perfect.darthrevaninlight wrote...

Technically Liara can die in ME3 if you dont have enough war assets and shes in your squad at the end before you meet harbinger.

I believe any squad mate can die at that part if you dont have enough war assets. It doesnt show them die, just them lying on the ground afterwards. I have only seen Garrus and Ashley die there, on youtube.DaEvolution wrote...
