Actually, the official photo I am prefectly fine with. I actually love the picture (even if its lazy) but the one I am refering to is literally just a human.

Perhaps there has been a misunderstanding. I am well aware of that, in fact I defended the official photo when people complained about it being too human. I am talking about the art rip posted. an no, I am not saying the art isnt amazing, Im saying I felt it could have used SOME changes to make it look less human.

It would be interesting to have Ash be modeled after Tali.  Let's hope they don't put the nose ring in Tali.  *Shudder*

piercings are another way to risk infections... don't think we have to worry about that

I always expected her to look a bit human like. You could see enough through the mask to get a vague idea. I was surprised at the colouration of the canon pic though. For some reason I was expecting her to have smooth grey skin so she looked like a beautiful statue (with glowy eyes). I don't mind the hair, no reason an alien shouldn't have hair. I've never been with the "slap something on the top of the head" school of aliens. The odd head tentacle is okay, but no reason not to have something a bit more human on top as well as facially now and then, especially when coupled with significant body changes.

I actually don't mind the stock photo edit BW did for the game when I first saw it I was happy with it I thought she look very pretty and the fact she has hair in the photo suits her because her veil acts like hair. She also has clearly a human nose, jaw, and eyes. Beyond that we know Quarians bleed red and their skin is rougher then humans. I thought the photo they had suited her just fine add in Riddick eyes and I'm all set and now that the image is cannon for the series they shouldn't change it.

Yeah, first the face we can see behind the mask, then the Quarian skeletons in ME2.
I was expecting her to have pale skin (Because enviro-suits) so no problem there.
No reason for aliens to not have hair, true. I think it was more because of the issues that go along with keeping a long hair inside of those suit. But I was never aginst them having hair.
