I note I say so now, rationalizing it, in game given context it would probably be much harder to decide... ;(
I doubt however they'll pull something like that without putting in some situation where you risk all the others (standard squaddies and LIs) as well: if all the squaddies are to be considered "main" characters, they have to have (or at least should have) comparable amounts of screen time and content, if Tali has this only for herself it would make the whole LI thing unbalanced in her (dis)favour, unless the situation is avoidable...
PS. Yeah, I'm alive... A computer virus basically destroyed two years of hard work (and probably all my ME saves), but I'm "still alive"... And posting through a borrowed PC, till I can fix the problem... I hate my life... =_=

I would save Tali but I don't think they would be so badass to do so. If that happens then all romances would be destroyed which is unlikely.
Why do you say that?

Yes, I agree. Obviously saving Tali or other LI in a situation like that would be hard, but I think she would end up hating you, because you have also committed to death, all her family, friends and her entire race. After that, she will be in a pretty bad place emotionally, and wouldn't be something anyone would get over for the rest of their life. Someone made a comment about Bioware considering a situation like this in DA:2 because it wouldn't be fun, which I can understand. If a situation like this did happen, I think it would be too obvious that the game was forcing the player into a choice between love and destruction, and would not be fun, or particularly engaging, and may damage the story.Pride Demon wrote...
If something like that happens, then with a heavy heart I'll probably have to save the fleet, if not for the fact they'll help against the Reapers, because I'm certain Tali would NEVER forgive you for making her whole race go extinct (being the last of your kind is tragic really)...

This raises an interesting point. I guess (in order to be balanced), ME2 had fairly equal time between all characters in the game. I.e. each character had a recruitment mission, one loyalty mission, etc. However, while playing ME2, it did feel a little "I-am-a-computer-game-and-will-do-everything-in-an-equal-and-unbiased-way". In one sense, I think it tarnished the story a little, and made the story too linear. In reality, I think things would be a bit more 'unequal'. I was wondering if it would be better if certain characters had more or less 'screen time' as it were. Obviously, everyone has their favourite characters, and would like to see more of them, and so Bioware are in a situation where (in order to be unbiased) everyone gets the same time. But does anyone else think that it would be better to have a little bias, and do whatever is necessary to the story? I think it will aid the story telling and make the game more dynamic, (like a movie).

Because if they do that with Tali then presumably all romances have that situation and I don't think they will just punish only to those who romanced Tali, but it is just my opinion, we will still have to see what BW does.

I was recommended by the good people on the ME2 Tali thread to come here.
I'm currently writing a possible ME3-plot fanfic. Now while my Shepard is a Jackolyte, I like all the characters equally and give them all the same amount of screen time in the plot, so to speak. The general gist of the story so far is that the Normandy crew were separated, and Shepard has been finding them in the midst of his attempts to rally the Galaxy. I just got to the chapter dealing with finding Tali again, along with some Quarian-centric plot points. What i wanted to ask was if any of the posters here would like to have a look at it and tell me what you think of my portrayal of Tali so far.
I'd be grateful for any comments/criticisms you can give.

I, uh, hope she'd be a little more sensitive about it than that.Destroy Raiden wrote...
I would love to have special dialogue with Tali if she's on board your ship when you flee Earth in 3. I would like her to remark how now humans are like the Quarians in that they've now been forced to flee their home world. I just think she would comment on a moment like that.

Yeah Kaiden is already dead in my games too, although from the new armor and stuff he's showing in all the promos it looks like he may have taken a level or two in badass. I'm thinking more along the the lines of Thane, Jack, Jacob, Zaeed, or the new Marcus Fenix wanna be. Not that they're all bad characters but I think they could be giving cool death scenes/sacrifices and not hurt my overall enjoyment of the game. If it's Tali, Garrus, Legion, or Kasumi I don't know what I'd do.
Not gonna lie, my biggest fear is that the choice will be between Tali and Garrus.

Why does Shepard looks like she doesn't care for both Tali and getting shot from everywhere?

They're in the middle of a desperate battle, and she still holds Tali on her legs and keep and hand on her head, even if probably's already dead. It doesn't seem like she doesn't care.

She is good, the combat drone helps you to do more damage and high risk/high reward strategies.Hellbound555 wrote...
in terms of gameplay though, how is tali? her energy drain is like an overload that drains shields. i think its one of the better skins in the game.

Great picture! It is kind of hard to look at with Tali in that situation.
Alternatively, (if losing a character like this causes too many problems for story continuity), you could have a mission where you have to rescue a group of people, and there is potential to lose all of them if you play poorly. When you get back to the Normandy, you find out that the group actually contains family members from a squadmate. That squadmate then reacts in different ways, depending upon how many of the group you manage to save (or which ones you save, as you don't know who they are at the time of the rescue).
What other scenario's would you like to see in ME3 involving Tali?
