Dude, we don't even see actual trolls as trolls in the Garrus thread. Quite frankly, we're the anti-thesis of the Talimancers. Whereas a Talimancer will blindly shoot down everything they perceive as threats, us Garrusfans will just take each rocket to the face like a man and just turn the other cheek without a care in the world.

this is more like bashing others while promoting yourself then anything else to me when the comment itself seemed unessary in the first place.

Im not sure about tali/reegar if shep didnt romance her. reegar gave me that vibe like he could be one of tali's father's friends or something. It'd be like one of your buddies hooking up with your daughter.

I found one.

i can imagine shepard's first christmas with tali onboard being really
awkward. first he gets a box of chocolates for his little shotgun-toting
engineer buddy, but then garrus mentions that quarians are
amino-dextrous, so the chocolate would kill her.

shepard then
remembers her love for both tech and shotguns and ponies up for the best
shotgun on the market, along with anti-synthetic ammo mods. he drops by
wrex to have him check them out, only to have wrex mention that during
one of their elevator rides, tali mentioned her pride in her tech and
salvage skills, such that she'd rather make weapons than buy them, and
would never like a purchased weapon for a present. wrex then adds that
that's an awfully big box of chocolates, and wrex would be happy to hang
onto both it and the new shotgun while shepard figures out a new gift
for tali.

at this point, shepard says "screw it!" and gets her a
gift card at omni-gel emporium. just as he's about to sneak it into
tali's stocking (one of six hung up over the galaxy map, one of two with
the big toe-sleeves, and the only toe-sleeved one that doesn't have
"garrus vakarian" stitched on it, with "spectre" stitched under it and
then crossed out with "c-sec officer" stitched under that, in turn also
crossed out with "galactic bada" stitched at the bottom and clearly not
quite finished in time for christmas), shepard hears joker laughing
about the system they've just passed, which has survey teams selling
planetary rights to barely habitable worlds for cheap. and shepard
remembers tali's stories about what happened with the geth, and how her
people are homeless, driven from their world.

in the morning, as
they all gather in c&c to unwrap presents, tali is confused by the
wrapped box that contains nothing but a card... until she realizes how
hard it is to wrap a new homeworld.

(liara is, by the way, really touched by shepard's thoughtfulness in getting her that omni-gel gift card.)

I remember seeing that while lurking in an older Tali thread. A bit confused at how you make a card out of omni-gel but....oh well.

Replaying ME1 right now and re-acquainting myself with Tali's cheery cuteness back then...love the way she says "Hey Shepard, need something?" or when I ask about something else, she says "Like what?"

The way she enunciates some words like 'Flotilla' and 'Saren' is also pretty endearing.



Going back to the first game, also realize just how much more mature Tali sounds in ME2. Although she still has the cutest way of asking me "Shepard! What can I do for you?" onboard the Normandy SR-2.

You just want to give her a hug when she says that :innocent:

Major kudos to the voice actress.

Yeah, I did a ME1 playthrough ~2 months ago and noticed the change (again). The voice sounds a little different but has the Tali ingredient.

Well this is interesting.

I think my Shep is most of all concerned about it. He wouldn't really want to endanger her healt, but he also doesn't want to prevent Tali's happiness of being out of the suit and sharing that moment with him. So, it's constant struggle of desire to keep Tali safe and let her have happiness even if it would endanger her. And because of that my Shep will make sure that Tali is completely healthy and that she had took precautions before he would even think of letting Tali out of her suit. If it's necessary, he will halt Tali.

About possible controversy, well it all depends on what is source of that possible controversy. If it's on Normandy, it's the most easiet to convince people that relationship is not an issue. And if it's mostly the same crew as it was at the end of ME2, well I doubt that anyone of that crew would even say anything about it. And if someone has problem with, well they can leave.
If the soucre is alliance or council...... well they can go to hell. It's none of their business.
If the source is Admirality board and/or Quarian fleet in general, that's bit more problematic. The respond must be thought more carefully and the important part is how Tali is going to react. Basically my Shep will not outright burn the bridges with Quarian, even if they don't accept this relationship for some reason. And that's because it would ultimately hurt Tali. Basically my Shep tries to avoid situation, where Tali is forced to choose between my Shep and fleet. Because that is lose-lose situation for Tali and it will just cause pain.

But ultimately my Shep will support Tali and her decision, even if it would mean that she would choose fleet over him in some point (yes, that would break his heart, but if it's Tali's choice, then so be it). And this also answers for the question of what's going to happen in future or where my Shep thinks things are going. Basically he is going to be with Tali as long as she wants to be with him too.

And I guess that my Shep thinks that after defearting Reapers and saving the galaxy, it's time for well deserved retirement in one certain house on Rannoch, if it's just possible.

Well that's what my RPG Shep would think.

I've read a few fanfics that deal with alien marriage. Generally it is similar, but a little different. It's always a different kind of tradition with similar, but not identical terms.


Calinstel's To Survive fanfic series deals with it particularly in 'Alliances'

And that's really good fic and I like the idea of how this "marriage" question is solved in that one. Now I don't think that it would bond like in that story, but the idea of that Quarian would just really bond with one another for life does sound something, which could be true.

After all linking your suit environment with other and that way sharing yourself with said other one in most important way is something I don't really see happening often and quite certainly not with multiple partners. So, it could be just one partner for life (maybe another one, it "bonding" lose happens at young age).

Anyway I wouldn't be surprised if we would hear something about Quarians and their "marriage" customs in ME3. After all  BW had promised much more deeper relationships and that pretty much means more talks about things with LI. And in Tali's case, it's more about Quarians customs, history and so on. So, it's more than likely there is going to be conversation about this subject in some level in ME3.
