I think the post finale conversations on Earth went a long way to making the ending even more of a disapointment. They were all great in their own way and reflected their personality. Incredibly moving. But after that it was a bit like being burried in a pit and having excrement poured on top of you.

There are women out there with a bit of Tali in them, even if they don't realise it. None of them are ever going to be Tali though. I always say though everyone has totally unrealistic romantic ideals anyway, so no reason Tali shouldn't be ours. Not good if it actually get's in the way of your real life relationships, but no reason it should. Plus it's not entirely out of the realms of possibility that you may find someone that is like Tali and is a fan, though chances are she wouldn't be single and you'd have a lot of competition (which I find, can often ruin the feel of a romance).

Personally, I've always had a thing for geeky/nerdy girls with a bit of an edge and great sense of humour (that and goth girls anyway), and also really bright, beautiful eyes. So a Tali obsession was always going to happen really.

Well, most women don't have only three fingers and glowing eyes, so yes, no real life girl will be Tali in that way. But a nerdy goth...don't you get me dreaming. And if she'd put effort in a Tali costume, I'd be very happy to help.

Also, where to get that eastern european accent...oh, right. I'm in Germany. So, off to the Czech Republic I go!

Heh. I always had a thing for Czech girls.

Plus I always loved eastern European accents. So another reason Tali was a sure thing for me.

"I want...more time."

I was like: "We'll get more time, Tali. Right after we erased the reapers from our galaxy."
But at this time i wasn't aware that the storywriters "icy hand of relationship-annihilation" (i could make a magic card out of this, if you wish) prepares for its deadly strike.

Today is the third day after my playthrough. I still fell sick to my stomach.
Thinking back to that conversation... hell... its so cute and sad at the same time.

I really hope that i'm not the only one who fell that way.
Otherwise i should consider to consult a psychologist.
Or maybe we should start a group therapy to work this event up.

I could really need the help of Doc....
Damn you different time zones!

I beat the game back on the 12th and everytime I see that dialogue I get all emotional.
I had promised I wouldn't leave her again and now bioware has forced me to break that promise.

Well, for those of you seeking hope, apparently 'april' is the month to seek it, which I suspect is when Bioware will have more info from Pax East regarding the ending. You can view more about it here.

And on a side note, do any of you Tali fans need a virtual hug after how bad the ending has been? Now is your chance to do so.

*Right-click paragon interrupt flashes on screen*

Yes, it IS the best work they've yet created. Except of the last ten minutes. It's not that they're sad or anything. it's because they don't - make - sense. And that is the main point of it all. It's out of context, totally out of character, and absolute deus-ex-machina.

And that is our main criticism. Whilst most here would opt on becoming large property owners on Rannoch, I myself want an ending that doesn't make me part of a genocide (exploding mass relays), gives me the choice to decline, and wraps up the story without cowardice (Joker fleeing), instant teleportation (my squad members to the end suddenly on the Normandy), implied starvation (Garrus and Tali on non-dextro planet, fleet on earth not stranded) or destruction of allies (Geth, and especially EDI).

Give us a chance to say no, and fight it out. If the Citadel hosts the AI, destroying it will relinquish control of reapers. Let's blow that thing to hell. And push the remains into the sun. Also, what happened to the council? All dead? How could the Reapers "sneak away" the citadel? What about the MILLIONS of people on it? All dead? We only saw a hundred or so bodies on it, they must be piling up there. And if so - this AI just killed BILLIONS of people and we OBEY its wishes? Read too much dictator propaganda as of late or something?

Honestly, blowing the Citadel up, destroying most of Earth's surface in the process, and the Reapers being destroyed one by one - that would've been shocking enough an ending. Moving the remains into the sun. Salvaging what is left of the Allied Forces, extracting personnel and corpses. Can you not see how emotional that would've been? And how in the end all species come together on Earth, on the center where the Citadel met its end, where the beam once stood, and vow to found another council with all who helped here joining, and beginning construction of a space station large enough to not only house this council and all involved, but to kill a reaper with one shot.

Also the legal implications of synthetics having to work with organics, represented by EDI joining the council on behalf of herself and the geth, so the AI that caused the cycles will never repeat itself. And then we can continue on to "what is Dark Matter and how does it deturiorate the galaxy faster than physics would state". The ending that was planned by your own writers once.

And Tali can serve on the council - or just go home. I believe Multus has the house nearly finished by now.

It is a cute accent, but one must always consider how she feels. She wants to go home, so you have to live with quarians all your life. Well, especially since there is no interstellar travel anymore.

They said this wouldn't be the last we heard from Shepard.

Damn straight. We are all Shepards. You haven't heard the last from us!

When it comes to relationships, Magic players don't have much hope, no matter how white they play. There are few who understand the fun and passion - and those are very quickly off the marked in a 95% male dominated game. At least that's my German experience.

It might feel wierd, living around all quarians, especially when that makes you the 'minority' species-wise, but I think I would still like it, especially considering I live with my love interest.  Besides, by the time this war is over, and I go home with Tali'Zorah Vas Normandy, surely some humans may decide to move into Rannoch, provided they had permission?  Though I have a bad feeling that with all of these new species moving in, it might endanger the state of the planet.  Still, I think its a possibility.

The wounds have mosty healed, but not the scars, and im not sure if even a outstanding ending DLC will fix that...but we can only hope at this point that a good ending DLC will heal our wounds and allow us to live in Tali's(Or Shepard's, if you insist on having the deed) lovely house, with maybe some children, and some fun things to do.

I think one quote Shepard said to Javik regarding Tali really fits into this moment:

"Without her, all I have in life is death.  And that's not good enough for me."

I agree about the ending change. Although it will certainly help, the fact that I went through all that emotional experience to get slapped in the face by a frozen turd at the end, it is hard to imagine forgetting about that. I guess in time, with an ending fix I could play through the whole thing again and try and experience it as it should be. But that deceptive, painfully empty ending will always be in the back of my mind. I think perhaps only getting to build that house on Rannoch with Tali will help.

You could always use an ME2 save editor to change the ME1 flags that decided who died on Virmire. I don't actually know if that will work, or if the ME2 flags would override that. I plan to try something similar myself (though a more minor change, I want to have not romanced Liara in ME1. I obviously don't want to continue the Romance, but I hate breaking her heart over it, she deserves better).

Given my Shep was a spacer, I don't think he'd be fussed where he settles down. Besides however the ending turned out, he's heavily responsible for the way Rannoch will end up. May as well continue to be involved. If I had to wipe out the Geth, the least I could do would be to make sure they are remembered for their sacrifice and not just as an enemy.

My Twitter entry just now:

"I solemly swear most people have no idea what we complain about. How to explain this for somebody who doesn't read stories... Well, let's take the LotR. And imagine the ending as Frodo joining up with Morgoth, who as it turns out controls Sauron and his orcs. Frodo not only joins with Morgoth but destroys both the armies of good and evil in the process, so only a few select friends survive. He never second-guesses the decision of Morgoth, either. He just chooses from three options, using the ring, all which are his death. But despite being in the direct vincinity of the blast, Samwise Gamgee gets out and into the remote place of the few survivors by "magic". He is joined by Aragorn and the rest, who fled the final battle at the gate in time, leaving the troops to die alone in the blast. And then they happily live in a distant vale without a care of the world. The end. Now, would that be a "nice ending"? No, it would not make sense. How would Aragorn flee the battle. How would Samwise get out. Why would Frodo obey Morgoth without second-guess. Why would he doom all his allies and friends to die, just because the Ring Entity says so? And without any struggle or fighting back? That is the ending we got at #me3. And that is what we think ruins the whole series. As it would have ruined Lord of the Rings. #retakeme3"

By mistake I romanced Ashley in ME1, I was trying to had good conversations and it was to close, so my last scene with her was the sex scene, but I won't change Tali for her so ME2 helped me with that, in ME3 she asked me about us, and "only professional relationship was enough to stop her. Sorry but Tali owns my cyber-heart.

I romanced Ashley in ME 1 two but remedy that issue in the hospital while she was still on bed rest. No  big blow ups  just told her what the deal was and went from there.   Tali and My Shepard are joined at  the hip.

I romanced Liara. Never even to the argue scene between her and Ashley before second playthrough, my choice was too quick. Mostly because Tali wasn't romanceable, I really wanted her back then already. When game 2 allowed it, and Liara became all distant and dark...well, I was thankful for her efforts to save me, but in truth, it made it just easier for me. And when I had to let her down in ME3, of course it wasn't the nicest moment, but I wouldn't trade Tali for anybody or anything, and that was just a fact. Nevermind that Liara is a better fighter to my talents.

We applaud and acknowledge this proposed ending.

Also, we have almost finished with construction on Creator Zorah's house.  Currently installing windows, which we have deemed as necessary even though they are structural weaknesses.  Legion's programming insists upon it.

We are also missing carbonated beverage known as "champagne" to open when process is completed...

Well said. I'm with you, though I'm not sure I would call it entirely deus-ex-machina. There are hints to the ending that can be spotted retrospectively that suggest they may well have planned it all along. Sarens conversation at the end of ME1 suggests the Synthesis ending and the control/destroy have seeds throughout. That is by no means a defence. It saddened me when I realised that you essentially have the choice of doing what three other characters would pick (and two of those are antagonists!) rather then actually acting like something remotely resembling the Shepard we've all been playing.  Synthesis = Saren, Control = TIM, Destroy = Javik. The Shepard choice would obviously be to give the civilisations on the Galaxy a chance to co-exist and not F things up. Synthesis and Control are letting the Reapers win, but then it turns out the Reapers are good guys really. WTF.

Destroy, the only option that doesn't seem to be the Reapers winning is indeed both Genocide and murdering a Friend. Not only that but killing of creatures you yourself helped to achieve something akin to humanity. Wow. I'm not sure Shepard would want to live after that and if Tali had died, I'm sure he would have happily jumped off a cliff.

The ending made no sense, doesn't fit with the positive message and style of the series, certainly doesn't fit with Commander Shepard and doesn't even seem like a real conclusion or solution to anything. However that doesn't mean it wasn't always planned. Admitedly Star child/god boy or whatever else you want to kill him has deus-ex-machina written all over him, but his choices of outcome less so. It's mind boggling to imagine BW always planned this stupidly bad, nonsensical ending that was always going to cause an uproar if they thought about it for more then five minutes. But that may be the case.

EDIT: I was going to edit the fruedian slip, but I think it's best left in there. I think that says it all really.
