Well Tali also thought she was very alien, not to mention she was fresh out of the Quarian equivalent of puberty and in the middle of their "adulthood" ritual. Shep's probably got at LEAST ten years on her. So a powerful, heroic, wise and incredibly lethal older man with all the life experience he has behind him? That's just plain intimidating to a younger and slightly socially awkward (who wasn't at that age?) female of any intelligent species. So while she might have admired Shepherd and developed feelings for him I doubt it would be erotically based, she's smart and pretty much said it herself in ME2 that she never expected those feelings to be returned. So you can imply it was her last girlish "crush". So when that crush returned to her when she'd "grown up" in her culture's eyes and to an extent her own, and returned previous feelings she'd all but written off...

Just my theory of course

Correction: Shepard has either nine or seven years on Tali'Zorah, depending on counting two years spent dead or not...
...semantics.

I don't actually know Shep's age Doc so I'll take your word on it. I just know that a man ranked "Commander" in the modern US military is a career soldier who's been doing the job for in and around 15 years + 4 years of college. *shrug* obviously I can't apply the same standards to the ME universe but you use what you know.

Hmmm there's a slightly off topic subject that I should put up as a thread else where, what kind of degree does Shepherd have?

Hmm, I could live on rannoch quite comfortably. I live on the edge of a desert myself, and I periodicly make trips into the Mojave. The Quarian landscapes remind me of small lakes that periodicity form through the region, but on a larger scale.

Getting over salarian bias (by own standard, planet rather arid) still has several diverse biomes. Are under no stress to live in area utilized by Reapers and controlled Geth.

Ash (previously Liz) Sroka has some words on the matter. I find it odd how this is the only interview I have found with her.

Retroplayer- So the Mass Effect movie is allegedly in the works, Ash. Even if they go for massive Hollywood names just for the sake of it I don’t think they have a reason to not cast you as Tali seeing as all we hear is her voice. Would you be interested in playing her on the big screen?[/b]
Ash- I would love to play her. I love Tali and we’ve been together for so many years now so it would be strange to have somebody else play her. I really hope I get that opportunity.

Scalpels, how the hell have you been?!

In order to foster less confusion between myself and The Doc I won't be typing in Mordinspeak.

I have been very well. Extremely busy. I changed jobs and had less time to follow the threads and with Stanley Woo culling the thread I was less inclind to stay. I'm back, though, due in part to the ending of Mass Effect 3. Buuut that is a topic for another thread.

How has everyone been getting along?

If that's true I don't think it'll have the same connecting feeling that the games give. Then again a lot of stuff would be considered canon if they follow ME1's story...hmm...

Shepard was born on April 11th. 2154 CE. He is an Aries.
Tali was born sometime in 2161 CE... and so was Jack.

Huh...I thought Jack was a little older. Ah well. Then again she's a lot more mature in 3 so that might be why I think that.

This is a convo that's been had quite a bit. Without knowing the average lifespan of quarians, and since Shep's might have been altered by his various implants (+/-), it's kinda hard to establish an age for the two relative to each other and their life expectancies.
Easier in the end to just shrug and say "d'awwwwwwwwwww*

...never really liked human designation "Common Era." Nothing really seperates from "Before Common Era" except supposed birth date of Messiah-figure.
Change date system or use previous terminology.

Comparable lifespans (though quarian average brought down by weakened immune systems.) Wish could remember source of information...

Well, going by birth dates seems the most logical. If you want to take off the 2 years Shepard was dead/in a coma that makes sense too.

I've often held that a Live Action Mass Effect movie would need to take place during the First Contact War (aka Relay 314 Incident). An animated one could take place at almost any time so long as they treat Shepard carefully. They are actually releasing a Mass Effect Anime following James Vega.

Now we hold the line for a different reason. But I digress again; I recall we must keep things focused on our favorite quarian. Speaking of...

So...... shepard will romance ashley, save wrex, kill kaiden, save the rachni, save the council..... what else? Doesnt that kind of make our decisions in ME1 redundant?

That always bugged me as a Marine, wtf is a Gunnery Chief? Pick one rank system and go with it darn it! lol however you are incorrect. Assuming Ashley Williams enlisted immediately at the age of 17 she could concievably hit the rank of E-7 (Gunnery Sergeant) in that time frame. I've met two and heard of several more 9 year Gunnys and 7-8 year Staff Sergeants. They have to hit every meritorious promotion they can and generally be perfect Marines but it has happened. If it can happen in the Corps which is notoriously slow to promote I'm sure it can and does happen in our sister branches as well.
