I hope they get working on that movie soon. And I sure as hell hope that Tali is the canon romance for Shep
We can always hope otherwise.
This is most likely. As much as I would love to see Shepard and Tali as canon, Bioware and Hollywood would be wise to avoid the argument entirely.
Possible. Do you think they would completely omit any romance elements from the movie?

Tali'Zorah has mental damage? No. And fragility is stereotype hated by most quarians.
I probably didn't word it right in my sentence, but I didn't mention that tali had mental damage. Mentally, I believe she is fine...for the moment. However, while I understand why the quarians hate the fragile stereotype, there is at least some truth to it. It is easy to hurt Tali'Zorah's feelings and cause serious damage; I won't even begin to list it because I would rather turn a M-3 Predator on myself than seriously consider hurting Tali, but I will say that if you do it wrong, Tali may permanently scorn you or even commit suicide. Plus, she can't live without her suit. She might be a bit more durable, but that is canceled out to some degree by her weakened immune system. Fortunately, I made peace with the geth, so her immune system will recover faster than normal and she will regain her quarian toughness.
But was related to death of her people. Didn't want to be last one. Explainable.
I made a mistake...
...looked it up...
Salarian culture averse to drinking. Metabolism related, really. Still got drunk. Didn't help.

I had actually started doing a project much like his. Wife wanted to Cosplay Tali while my oldest daughter would play Raela and my youngest would play an Asari. Sadly, we ran out of budget, but I believe I solved the gap problem with the mask.
The Mask/Helmet problem seems to be the hardest part from my research, buying a set of football shoulder pads neatly solves the issue of creating the "exoskeleton" of Shephard or any one else's armors from scratch. Then it's just a matter of trimming up and painting a set of good looking shin guards, some strap on trim for boots, the rest of the chest, back and forearms.... okay so even with out the helmet it's not simple at all, the helmet for a Shep or a Tali remains the rough part, pre-purchaceable full face sealing masks (ala Tali's or the enviromasks used in the film avatar) which would make building a quarian helmet a wee dram easier just don't exist commonly on the market, and the one or two I've found have been prohibitively expensive.
I am a big fan of doing it the hard, but accurate way. I currently am sitting on enough raw material for four quarian helmets... minus the fiberglass. The tinted plexiglass was surprisingly cheap at the time. Even sculpting the helmet was easy. The hard part is working with fiberglass. I need a garage or workshop to complete it.

Change date system or use previous terminology.
You could always use the archaeological PE(Present Era) and BP(Before Present)
Instead of being defined by a random cultural event, it's relative to the latest date for which a radiocardon date can be consider accurate (1950- afterwards, carbon output by industrialization disrupts testing results)

Wait, that's Turian culture.
No quite applicable to the human military as well, exceptional marks during his civilian schooling, N program 1-7, infantry command courses beyond that, Naval War College, high performance in actual combatant commands, and if you have a war hero shep the Skillian Blitz of course. (Star of Terra regarded as extremely impressive by Chief Williams, assuming it to be a CMOH or Victoria Cross equivalent)

I almost read that as,
"and knowing is half the bottle!"
And I was like, "What's the other half? Drinking out of the bottle?"

Depends on how much control Hollywood has. They are insistent that a love story be added to every movie, but some manage to escape this rule.
If Bioware has a lot of input. They will avoid it, but make it look like Commander Shepard could have any one of the Normandy crew.
If Hollywood has more input. They will probably make him go for Ashley simply because she is human and more relatable to an audience who has never played Mass Effect.

I could not agree more. All media should avoid telling the story of Commander Shepard. It is already told in the games. I am a big proponent of the First Contact war. It would give non-fans an entry point into the series and introduce the Turians for most of the movie. Then they can learn about the Asari and Salarians when the Citadel Council intervenes.

I'm thinking we'll see a romance in any possible ME movie... still wondering about the plot, I might be willing to go with the rumor it won't be based off the game... too many unknown variables at this point in time. However I would expect them to have a romance in said film. Considering audiences were introduced to romances with gorgeous blue alien women in Avatar and ate that **** up to the tune of 2 billion USD.... an Asari is certainly possible

Ah Scapels don't say that! I want that to be a game! Imagine how awesome that would be to PLAY! Exploring the universe, fighting the Turians, helping to found the first human colonies beyond the Cheron relay.... being the first human to actually use the word "kirk" as a verb...

Frankly, I'm not sure about the idea of a movie. Sure, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time did well for a video-game-to-movie adaptation, beating out Tomb Raider by who knows how much. But Mass Effect? A game where you create your own adventures based on a movie? I would just forget it; how could you make something like that into a success, especially when there are so many tactical and personal decisions to be made!? I can understand some other games if they were linear or such, but Mass Effect? That's just asking for all the income from the Mass Effect games to be burned before our eyes.
