I heard he might be in the next Unreal Tournament video game series...I mean, those steroids he took have got him pumped up...plus, he's still young! What is he gonna do after Shepard saves the galaxy, get shoved into a alliance cubbyhole position?

I'm thinking we'll see a romance in any possible ME movie... still wondering about the plot, I might be willing to go with the rumor it won't be based off the game... too many unknown variables at this point in time. Considering audiences were introduced to romances with gorgeous blue alien women in Avatar and ate that **** up to the tune of 2 billion USD.... an Asari is certainly possible

Mass Effect already has some parallels with Wing Commander (epic sci-fi, company bought by EA), and the Wing Commander movie was the most god-awful tripe ever to not even make it to the silver screen (it didn't get a theatrical release in the Netherlands, and I had to import the DVD from Germany). You know you're in trouble when the game's a better movie than the movie is (seriously, the FMV games even had a better cast than the movie). The only good thing about the movie was the soundtrack.
I'm very wary of a Mass Effect movie. Even more so if they make the mistake of canonicalizing Shepard's story.

The movie is about Vega and his fight against the collectors or something like that.
There are two movies. One is an anime that follows Vega. The other is by Legendary pictures and (according to interviews) it follows Commander Shepard.

Ya, there've been a few that were okay at best, but most seem to fall to the same trend. Unfortunately, going from a medium with lots of choice and lots of interactivity to one with no choice and no interactivity seems to be a losing formula.
Also, canonicalizing is a hilarious word:D

Yeah offical mass effect film? I'm calling it now, Liara as LI.
EDIT: Does it make me a bad person that I liked the Wing Commander movie?

After the crash, before Lazarus. It's just 2 years of lab works in a 1 1/2 hour documentary. Aimed for doctors.

I had not considered the impact of giant blue women. This actually shifts back to 50/50. Perhaps they could do pull a Clue. Some theaters get a romance with Ash. Some with Liara. Sadly, I believe Tali is out due to her not being an option in the first game.

Ah Scapels don't say that! I want that
to be a game! Imagine how awesome that would be to PLAY! Exploring the
universe, fighting the Turians, helping to found the first human
colonies beyond the Cheron relay.... being the first human to actually
use the word "kirk" as a verb...
You make a compelling argument. The other way this could work is a smaller story based upon someone from the lost human colony who finds out that they aren't alone in the universe.

It did have its moments, but I just can't get behind some of the decisions made. Switching the terms Wing Commander and Squadron Commander compared to the games, to begin with. Why is Deveraux a Lt. Commander when that's a rank used by an entirely different division of the military (should've been a major instead)? Not to mention Colonel Halcyon was the squadron commander of the Tiger's Claw, and Deveraux was just a 1st Lt. at that point in time. How come Blair already knew Maniac when in the games they meet for the first time after coming on board the Tiger's Claw? Whose bright idea was it to renamed the ship Tiger Claw, and to make everything look like World War 2 in space? Having a scottish character (James Taggart, played in the games by John Rhys Davies) played by a French Turkish actor? Also, Taggart was a pilot on board the Tiger's Claw in the game and didn't join special ops until Secret Missions 2, but in the movie he's already special ops before the timeline of the game? Skipper missiles before the Kilrathi have invented cloaking devices? And where did the navcom AI and pilgrim nonsense come from?
I liked David Warner's portrayal of Admiral Tolwyn, though. He seemed closer to the Tolwyn from Forstchen's Wing Commander novels than Malcolm McDowell's portrayal in the games.

And I might also add that the picture above could explain why, In Mass Effect 2 and 3, how Tali stays awake while Shepard falls asleep from enjoying himself with Tali. No, really! In Mass Effect 2, if you invite Tali to your quarters and snuggle up in bed, Shepard is clearly asleep, while Tali is awake, the eyes behind her mask glowing to indicate so. In Mass Effect 3, after Shepard strips, has his fun with Tali and all that stuff, he falls asleep, has a nightmare, and awakens to find Tali putting a lower-leg piece of her suit on.
