That was a really cool comparison, TrueMadayar, thanks for that.
Was kinda hard. I was taught to disrespect the GDR as a kid, in school, basically, especially where I grew up. After the wall fell, when I was a teen, I met eastern germans - very cultured, kind, not even half as radical or misbehaving as the kids I knew. I liked them. Huh. Hey, that's not far away from Tali meeting Legion, is it? Well, except for I never had to fight against eastern germans, ever.
Perhaps it's more like rival Krogan clans post genophage and then reuinited by the cure? Okay not quarianised but masseffectised.

So where does this woman who fell in love with and married the Berlin wall fit into this "Talified"equation?
I am not sure what you are referencing, but mentally ill people always existed. Look at that deranged Admiral who wanted to kill Shepard on the Dreadnought.
The divided Germany can be in parts compared to Korea. That only exists because one major player is supporting one side, and the other players don't want open war with that player. And if that player allows or even encourages athrocities, well, then it's one of the most horrid things. The Quarians should never have fought, though. They should've done like the Germans - become big exporters of weapons used by others!
Still, I think about the line from Tali, that she would've killed the Geth and not think twice about it. That is really harsh, even after knowing Legion she felt that way? I found the Geth always a rather fascinating concept, especially since it's hard to grasp for single individuals.

It was all David Hasslehoff right?
Yeah, if you think the All-Elcor Hamlet was the reason for the peace between Geth and Quarians.
He WAS big here, though. Many American series were seen as examples of freedom. Knight Rider was one. And the American music for a long time was more popular here than our own. Well, that still is the case sometimes, however I often wonder why...we have Rammstein now. We own.
I liked Rammstein until I translated some lyrics and realised how generically metal it was. Funny thing about music with German vocals, when you don't understand the language it always sounds kinda arty and clever.
Actually, I still dig Rammstein, but more for the guitar sound. I also dig Die krupp. To the Hilt! Oh yeah and of course Kraftwerk.

Nah, that's because of scarce resources. It's...maybe it's more like the normal Geth against the Reaper controlled Geth, you know. But still, there were really many Eastern Germans not believing the nonsense they were taught, and I stopped believing the Western German propaganda at one point, too. I was just free to say so, the Eastern Germans...well. I believe the Quarian-Geth-Problem would've been much more dramatic if you'd replace the Geth with other Quarians. After all, most see Geth as machines, cause they look like them, right?

But she admits her faults. Other people wouldn't do it.

Actually, thinking of it it could be more like the Geth and Heretics reuiniting if you choose that route. Only without the collective mind.
EDIT: Beaten to that one!

Oh, so you know Rammstein made a cover of a Kraftwerk song made about Tali?

I think she was being harsh on herself there. Sure, she would have done it, but I'm certain she would have thought twice about it. The fact that she's even analysing it shows that.

The honest people are honest to themselves, admitting their own mistakes. But the smart people never make them.
However, it's eternally hard to be smart when you're taught as a kid that a complete number of people is basically evil. Then again, it helps when you start rejecting other things you were taught and start to reconsider all the other things in the process. So when Tali learned the world outside of the fleet is not what she was taught it would be, especially Krogans, Humans, that kind of things, she should've normally reconsidered the other things as well. Okay, but hard when your father is killed by Geth...but I am adamant, after Legion she should have reconsidered. Well, she did try to prevent the war...

Yes, I meant in contrast to other people, she admits that she was wrong and that is what I like.

I always got that sentence as referring to her stance on the Geth in ME1 and ME2, before properly meeting Legion, rather than to the Quarian/Geth decision on Rannoch...TrueMadayar wrote...

If you talk to her in ME1 she comes off as having a pretty hard line when it comes to the Geth...
The fact Shepard showed her things were different (allowing her to be more sympathetic and eventually broker peace) is why she thanks him at the end...
But maybe it's just me.

Yeah she is admitting her mistake in comparison to Shep. And yeah others are right, Shep is kind of hard to top as a bf at this point. Saving the Citadel/Council, saving all those human colonies, giving her back her homeworld, curing the genophage, uniting the turians/krogran, peace for the Quarians/Geth, and on top of this creating the largest military force in history to save the galaxy. She's basically ruined for any other dude eh.

True, she grew up in a high pressure environment. Kinda like the GDR, actually. You were adamantly told by your surrounding that the Geth were evil. That they would kill all quarians if they had a chance. That they would never understand you, and never have feelings of any sort. And your father was a high-ranking official always talking about getting Rannoch back. Plus, the Quarians were 17 million people taught to always look out for each other. Even crimes were not overly punished as to not lead to loss of life. Helping Quarians out, no matter why they got in trouble, or backing them up to the outside, no matter how wrong their actions might have been, is a tradition Tali talks about. Combine this peer pressure with the teaching of the always-evil Geth and you get a feeling what Tali had to fight through when she met Legion - and why she immediately believed him to be false when she found him scanning her omni-tool.

I never actually thought about that but you're right. One thing you left out was Shep also could've helped her complete her pilgrimage which is a pretty big deal in itself. Tali would be hard pressed finding another guy that awesome if they ever decided to go their separate ways. lol

So, you believe Tali likes Reggae, or is it just Chibi Tali that does that? What would be her style of music?
I do believe that Quarians music would be almost as diverse as human music. Remember the Asari on Illum that talked about her mate studing there music..

Somehow I have an image of the early Geth playing Blues music. Good old Muddy Circuits, Robot Johnson and Blind Lemon waste processing unit 48. Those were the days.
