Well I belong here in the nerd sense yes, and I do really like Tali... Just I don't really LIKE Tali if you catch my drift. Which is where the whole me feeling awkward and not fitting in comes in, see?

Just gotta skim past some of the more awkard bits.  It's what I do!  I like Tali mostly because she is similar to the girls I actually do date in the real world.  Her character as written is rather sweet, intelligent, resourceful,  with a strong core and a strong sense of what is right.  And she can exhibit a mean streak when riled up.  Of all the possible LIs she seems the most realistically written to me which I think is a big part of her appeal.

Compare her to the other gals basic impressions.  I won't include Kelly because that was kind of weird how they portrayed her and her "I love everyone line."  I always thought shep's "you're very loving" sounded sarcastic too in ME2.

Ash - major trust issues and kind of prissy and parochial views.
Miranda - A little to egotistical at times and kind of ****y.  I respect her though.
Jack - All sorts of crazy.  Which means passionate and unpredictable.  Been there done that, no thanks.
Liara - A bit cold at times and can come off as distant or a bit toocalculating.  But Liara also shows some real warmth at times too.  

Anyway that is my two cents.

I gathered a long time ago that most people here appreciate Tali much more than I do-- and that's totally fine. These are great people, and their passion shows. You're in good company.

Shambles of a childhood finally breaking down under the influence of alcohol, at which time she... picks up a krogan plushie on the citadel? Miri is a lot more "real" in ME3, and while most of the normandy is paired off, she is a sterile human with over a century still on the clock. Administering more talihugs.

Agreed.  It doesn't matter how much or little you like/love Tali...as long as you at least like her and...err...try to keep the earthly stuff to a minimum, among the usual behavior rules, we're all welcome to chat with each other without causing a train wreck.

Here's to those of us who like or love Tali!  Our positive feelings for Tali does more than make her a important person in our memories...

Look everyone! It's a mythicus feminus! A female with essentially every desirable trait, few of the undesirable ones, who EXISTS! The nerd version of the holy grail is in our midst. As I choose to recall, the end of Mass Effect 3 gets me to the point where Anderson and Shepard are leaning against a short wall, congratulating each other through bloodied teeth. Then Shepard gets up and fires the ancient weapon, resulting in a subspace transmission that destroys all of the reapers. Soon after that we see Tali and Shepard standing next to each other – she without an environment suit and Shepard in shorts and a t-shirt.

Two young Baby’Zorahs are playing with a model of the Normandy, making zippy and shwoosy sounds. The little boy looks up and asks,

“What did you do in the war, Daddy?”

“Well, that’s a long…”

Then a shuttle breaks the sound barrier and drops down a hundred meters from the scene. A battered Garrus jumps out and limps toward Shepard and Tali.

“Shepard,” he manages to wheeze.

“Garrus!” Shepard calls while running to support him. “What the hell happened?”

Garrus chuckles in his inimitable way, and says:

“We have a slight problem with the Krogans…”

Fade to credits.

Doubt Wrex would let that happen.

Probably not, but Urdnot Wreav would. Unfortunately, Wrex did not appear in my play through. He should have, but didn't.

Then again, it could be the Yawg.

Can you turn a wrench? Sure-fire way to win many a man's heart. The fact that my S.O. has been willing to learn is one of the things I like best about her. She can almost change her own oil and perform other simple service intervals without any help. It feels good to be the teacher.

Why is that stereotype so true? I feel like there should be less of a gender difference in fear of small arthropods, but the gap is quite large. Speaking of gaps.
