I don't know how the Rachni will be written for thoes who killed them off, but I hope they play a big part in the game.

They'll probably be a recruitable faction if you saved them. I wonder how the Krogan are going to feel about that though...I hope it doesn't make them un-recruitable.

I do hope they play a part. Actually seeing a horde of Rachni going to battle against the Reapers and I assume Cerberus would be quite interesting.

Also, I'd like to see what Rachni ships would look like.

Hope they look cooler and biger than a Species 8472 looked like.

Yay, another Star Trek nerd! I don't think they're going to be completely biological like 8472. Supposedly the Rachni repair ships and use them for themselves. That's what that possessed Asari was saying at least. The Rachni seem like a more potent ground force.

I'd love to see them in battle. Especially the Brood Warriors.

I absolutely love the Rachni. They're completely alien, monstrous in appearance, but they occupy a very interesting moral and cultural ground that I'd really like to see fleshed out more in terms of story involvement.

I'm sure they'll be there, I'm just waiting to see in what capacity.

I hope their song is a great dirge for the Reapers... I will help them sing it.

Corny, I know... but I really liked them... so what the hey.

I hope they play a large role too and that Bioware doesn't follow the standard insectoid-aliens-are-evil trope.

Yeah they'll play a part. As husk fodder for Shepard's shotgun. Rachni husks have been confirmed. Suck on it paragons!

Unfourtunatly, they'll be wiped out by a young child-genious who was placed in charge of an entire fleet.

I said it in the other thread.
Rachni husks are already verified but. These rachni could very well be from the botched job that Cerberus started before Shepard even reached Noveria. 3 missions in ME1 were against these Cerberus screwups and there could have been other worlds we were not given access to.
Saving the queen may just add more forces to Shepard's team but I doubt it would make any difference to the number of husks we encounter. IMO of course.

Uhh every race has confirmed husks. Does that mean they'll be in my game? Maybe, maybe not. I suspect that the rachni will be in ME 3 regardless and may be surviving due to cerberus cloning like ME 1. Either way just because there are rachni husks does not mean that the rachni are not on my side-- only that some have been indoctrinated. :wizard:

Or it could be like every other race. There are going to be Asari husks but that doesn't mean all Asari are against you, either.

In battle with the reapers a portion of your population is inevitably goung to become husks. So, the rachni might make some ground battles more dangerous, by giving them additional husk's to throw at you. But their assistance may also make certain battles easier as well.

I hope they don't. I'm so tired of the developers stressing the "significance" of saving that tentacle race. I think the universe will do just find without mobile plants.

@Zemiious - are you talking about the Rachni or the Thorian?

As a note - I would have saved the Thorian too.

Except the whole "immediatly try to kill you with mind-control slaves and zombies" thing

@Rake21 - Okay, well that's definitely a Renegade concept.

But - as a Paragon, if I could have come to some understanding with it, convinced it to release the people it had enslaved - I would have chosen that.

Well, Bioware already went the "Ender's Game" route with the Rachni.

So, other than the occasional rachni husk, I expect the Rachni to be completely peaceful and honorable and all that good crap as they help us blast the Reapers to dust.

And then the Council tries to exterminate them again.

The problem was, the thing was so alien from every other form of sentient life, it just had no concept that you or anything else mattered beside it.  The Thorian looked at Shepard as either a threat, in the best case scenario, or food, in the worst.  Not to mention it was a little pissed at that point.

I don't think there could have been talking to the insane mamal hating plant monstrosity
