I've never really come across any Kolyat/Oriana, but suddenly...


suddenly, I am intrigued. Guess the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree.


Double dating would be hilarious. Poor Kolyat, at the dinner table with his father, a highly skilled assassin, the first human spectre and the saviour of the citadel, a young woman engineered to be perfect, and... Kolyat, fairly average.

I never really thought about Kolyat and Oriana. I didn't even know that some people liked them as a pairing. It could be interesting. Both Kolyat and Thane having human girlfriends.

Isn't Oriana interested in someone else though? I think I read that in Miranda's dossier.

I really like that one by IccaRa. And now I'm spinning off random story ideas.


Kolyat trying to tell his dad about this girl he met, all the obligatory awkwardness between them, and then Thane being all oh, a human? I can totally roll with that, and informing his son that he's dating Shepard.






Upon reflection, I think I overly enjoy painfully awkward but ultimately warm-hearted family fics. There is something wrong with me.

Out of her league? I dunno, Oriana is .. well, she's Miranda, tailor-made for perfection. I'd think it was the other way around.

But no, it's never mentioned, IIRC. Not that fandom ever needed an excuse for oddball pairings. I haven't recovered from Dumbledore/Giant Squid yet.

I only said that because Oriana is like Miranda in a lot of ways, and Kolyat isn't that much like Thane. She knows what she wants to do. She seems to have her head on straight. Kolyat is all over the place, and has a lot of issues. Having someone like Oriana might actually be good for him though.

Oddball pairings can be nice, and if Biowares see this they might hint at it in ME3.

@JECWSU, Nope no hint in game. Other than the fact they are both on the Citdadel and have a more famous family member on the same ship, there's nothing but overactive fan imagination at work. I blame 'Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained', personally .

Oo, drell everywhere? I think they're the most interesting-looking race in the game, asari be damned.

And JEC, the giant squid lives in a pond at Hogwarts in the Harry Potter setting. I squatted in the fandom for a long while, and some of the stuff that comes up is disturbing in ways I can't begin to describe.

Thane was probably my favorite after Garrus and Tali. He was cool, but I just couldn't get around dumping Garrus for him.

And I can totally see Oriana and Kolyat, like J said, Oriana is a sensible, level headed girl. Whereas Kolyat is very emotional, and doesn't yet know how to control those emotions.

And the shadow broker's dossier was just talking about someone who Oriana had a crush on. I think Miranda's emails may have scared him off though xD But I got the impression it was nothing serious anyway.

It's mentioned in Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained too! In fact, Oriana's crush has quite a big part in the story!

I'm sorry, but I just think Kolyat is out of her league. He's just got too many issues. He hasn't even worked out his issues with Thane yet. Miranda would probably hate it anyway. Not that she would ever listen to her sister.

I agree with those who say that Thane and Kolyat have a lot to work out, and require time to do so (as Thane points out. But Thane has ever been a realist.) There are indications that Thane and Kolyat are keeping in touch after Thane's loyalty mission, not only in Thane's conversation afterward, but in ambient dialog when you visit the Citadel as well. Their communication is still rough around the edges, and I'd think it would take a few attempts before anything approaching normalcy was established, but... It's a start, and a start is better than nothing. But wounds forged through years of well-meaning (but ultimately misguided - horribly, horribly misguided) intent and sealed in the blood of a loved one are not solved with five minutes of tears in front of strangers.

Although five minutes of tears is a good start.

Ambient dialogue in the Citadel? I didn't notice anything and I take Thane everywhere with me, where does this happen? All the hint that I got was what Thane himself said, and captain Bailey's e-mail ( where he basically says he told Kolyat to keep talking with his dad).
