...and apparently someone hacked the beta. There are huge spoilers floating around that I really don't want to accidentally stumble across.

I guess that's my cue to exit. Toodles, BSN! See you in March!

Oh god, oh god no, I changed my mind.

Somebody said something on another thread and from the gist of it... just don't read anything remotely related to Mass Effect 3. Please don't. I'm hoping it's incomplete or fake or only a certain path taken. That has to be it.

Looks like this beta thing has turned into an even bigger mess. I'm just going to take all of this in stride. It's leaked, it's a beta, etc, so I'm not taking any of it seriously.

So yeah, the stuff on Thane. Let's not get all upset about it. He's still in the game after all. :D Does anyone think it's possible that he can still be romanceable in ME3?

I am hoping that he is still romanceable in ME3. I'm going to set up a single FemShep for Joker romance, but if that doesn't happen I'll probably end up going for Thane again. That said, I want all the LIs from ME1 & 2 to be romanceable in ME3 if they weren't romanced in the earlier games.

I didn't look at the beta. I'm trying desperately not to. I don't want the surprise to be completely ruined. That said, was there anything new on Thane? I don't want to know what it is, just that he's there and somewhat important.

Um yeah, from what I saw he is there and it is pretty damn important.

I would like to say though that no matter what spoilers I read, which it's starting to look like not everything is true or BW will change it in the next few months, I still believe in the Thane banner on my sig!

Thane fans should be happy though. He's treated well and there are no cop outs. Trust me.

Hello Thane thread, long time no see, sorry for not stopping by, being preggers turned out to be a lot of (pleasant) work. ;)

I feel like using only caps right now, but I try to keep myself in check. I heard there are massive spoilers. I don't want to know, but then I DO WANT TO KNOW, it's just too much waiting for ME3 and becoming a mom within one week span from each other, and since I can't really get spoiled on the baby thing, please point me at my ME3 fix. Please. ;) To those of you who've seen/read everything, where can I find them?

This doesn't sound good at all. What exactly does it say about Thane.

Conflicting information to what's already known due to the OXM preview.

Please. Please. Please please do not ask this question. Bioware is stricking people down with the ban hammer anything even REMOTLEY discussed about what we seen. Bioware employees are claiming that the information is old, outdated, and not credible but still sweeping across the land nuking anyone who discusses it with extreme prejudice - you don't do that for things that are outright lies and not true at all. If it was completely phoney they would laugh it off and ignore it - the attention its getting is just making it seem more and more valid.

Lets just say when we were having a discussions about Thane getting an LoTSB....it was valid concern and these files say very clearly that err umm....his arc will be  "concluded"

I'm sorry...Image IPB

Wow I've been absent a couple of days and the topic of Thane is on fire!!

Ok I haven't seen the beta, wasn't even aware it had been hacked.   I will definitely stay away from it and all info.

That being said, perhaps BW isn't saying anything because they don't want to?  I'm sure they are doing their best to keep it a secret for as long as possible, given all the leaks of games recently (23 mins of Skyrim comes to mind, GoW3 etc).   Besides, not oreleasing info keeps everyone talking about the game, and what better publicity/marketing is there than that?

And considering several magazines (and gamers) have rated/claimed that ME2 was the best game EVER, I wouldn't imagine that they would take all that was great about it (including the characters) and go back to ME1, which in my opinion was VERY lacklustre.  That rover and driving all over the planets was super boring, and the character development wasn't as good (IMO).  My hubby used to ask me how I could even stand the game.  Now ME2 he totally understands - it is that much better.

I think we'll just have to wait until March - or VERY close to March.  It's ok with me, gives me something to look forward to besides the end of winter!Image IPB

I don't blame them for keeping it under wraps. Goodness knows, the crap that was released devestated some people and though the ovverral plot is amazing, and I won't go away screaming spoilers from the rooftop because some people really don't want to know and I wont do anything to jeapordize this thread.

But people who care about thane, for the love of bejeezus, stop asking. Thane gets to be in the story. A huge freaking part of the story. I kinda mislead when I said that he gets LOtsb, because he dosen't. In Me3 he's totally there. He's apart of a huge plan of saving a particulat planet. With another stealth character. With his son. Then something happens. Something that may have changed since released. That's all.

*slaps self for coming back to BSN, still has not learned lesson*

Part of me wants to know. Part of me is plugging my ears and closing my eyes and singing "lalalala."

I somewhat recently had a devastating ending to a game partially spoiled for me on Youtube while watching a completely unrelated video. But after playing through the game, I think I liked the ending BECAUSE it was spoiled. Everyone else had complained that the ending was awful, but I found it incredible, partly because I was prepared for the "what" but I didn't know the "how" or "why". It softened the blow and let me appreciate it for what it really was. Which was a damn good ending.

Here, knowing the "what" may help me the same way - again, i'm not looking at spoilers, but, come on, the tone isn't exactly happy around here, doesn't take a super sleuth to figure out the main gist of the Thane-related spoilers.

But that road could be one of many. And if it is, Sarah Shepard will destroy that road. If it isn't, she'll have to be hauled kicking and screaming down it.

I don't think anyone is still asking what happens to Thane.

I think we can figure out what is suppose to happen to him.  I just hope it isn't the only choice for him.

I'll put it this way. He's the only character I'm really worried about. And from what people have told me, I have very, very very good reason to worry. The only saving grace right now is hope that the Invictus/Hanar Scientist thing is true.

I guess I shouldn't say suppose to. What might happen to him.

I'm really hoping this part is true. Even though we couldn't find it in the magazine, we talked about how it didn't really sound like a rumor. So I'm hoping it isn't one.

I mean, well, it had to come from SOMEWHERE, you can't just make something like that up, (I mean, specifically a planet called Invictus and Hanar scientists and all). Of all the things we've thought of as to how we meet Thane again in ME3, well, none of us ever came up with the name of the planet or the what he was doing there. The poem of the planet's name seems particularly... poignant. Not something that someone random could pull out of nowhere without having some additional info.

Maybe I should be more worried about the fate of my favorite, sexy Drell - but I am not. I have no solid sources on how final or complete the information leaked is. I also do not know if it was for a NG or an imported one.

I have not looked at the file nor am I planning to - mostly I am getting snippets of spoilers from threads that should technically "be safe."

It is what it is (or will be on March 6...) If all fails, I can always pretend that ME3 never happened in my universe.

Exactly.

Hopefully someone wouldn't make it up to mess with Thane fans. The information seemed to be pretty specific, so I'm hoping it wasn't just some joke.

Well, the shining light is that Bioware has said time and time again that the leaked info was outdated. It could have been a rough draft from a production that is repeadly re-written and edited before making the "final" draft that animators build on.

I'm not saying what was released is "IT", I'm saying that it was a possibility, which is what were already knew anyway, which may have been changed after Bioware witness the overwhelming support for the character,
