That's how I took the line as well.  More of a metaphor, not a literal interpretation.

@Asenza I've always assumed that Thane must have been quite comfortably off when he was working but we don't know what the terms of the compact were, maybe he wasn't paid that well.

Once he was freelancing I'm sure he would have been getting paid well... maybe he's not very good with money, or maybe he sent it to Kolyat's guardians.

I just thought it was so unique because he was the only one who really got anything "romantic" in the Shadow Broker documents.

I would have thought Thane would have enough of money. I think he would have probably left most if not all of it to his son. He doesn't seem to be materialistic so he would probably only use some of the money for things he needed.

I would love to talk to Thane about the letter. I'm not sure how he is going to feel about the fact that Shepard read it. Especially since she wasn't suppose to get it until his death. That could be a really good conversation between them.

I'm still hoping it's a good thing, and not a bad one that Thane was the only one who got any kind of romantic content in LotSB.

This would be fantastic!  I wondered if it would be referenced in dialogue if you "continue" your game - which I realized it isn't.  But I think they definitely should have some convo around it.  My Shep will be putty in his arms!

I bet they have a bunch of flags that will show up in the final game! With it being the end of a trilogy, there's lots of opportunities to get a different ending to each part of the game, including romances!

It's an early version of the story and only outlines one outcome. I doubt whether it will happen like that when you play the game.

I love how Thane got the only romance specific little entry in the LotSB files. The details of Tali's enviro suit can be interpreted as such, but it is still the same regardless of whether or not she was romanced.

How I hope your right. I would be terribly sad to see Thane die ,even though we all knew he was dying. I'm always gonna want a happy ending, I cant help it. It's only natural right?

Me too, I never would have caught that. Damn I must be tired.

Though now that I've had that thane dancing pic on my laptop for a while now, I've noticed a relatively large number of things wrong with it. I could list them all here.... so I will.

* Thane's shoulders are hunched. He needs to relax more.
* Both Thane's and FemSheps head's are at the wrong angle, though at least they're looking in the right direction. Though FemShep is going to have a serious kink in her neck if she keeps her head like that.
* They're both out of alignment. FemShep needs to be more to the left-of-centre of Thane's body.
* FemShep's hand is WAY to high on his shoulder. Needs to be down either around the ball joint of the top of te bicep muscle, and the fingers need to be closer to the back, toned, and positioned.
* FemShep's right hand is not supposed to grasp the tips of Thane's fingers. The hand needs to be settled in the palm with fingers between his thumb and index finger. You know, holding his hand properly.
* Thane's right needs to rest on the bottom half of her shoulder blade, not the top half. He also needs to close his fingers a bit, cause at the moment it looks like he's groping her back.
* Thane's left arm, and FemShep's right arm, the one's being held out, need to be bent a bit. You don't hold them straight out cause then they become a hazard for all the other dancers on the floor, and the man can't lead like that.
* And now I think about it I'm not too sure about FemShep's back arch, either.

Must have been modelled off an novice American Ballroom couple. <_<
