I dont' think I would ever get tired of looking at him. I love his eyes. My husband always thought his eyes were strange.

Hn, I usually can't see into his shoes... does he even wear shoes? I've never really looked. They're like thin things on his feet, aren't they? Boots would make too much noise, ne?

Well the eyes are the windows to the soul.  Thane's eyes definitely fit that bill.
(I think Thane's shoes are part of his outfit.  Like connected to it.)

I know. When I was working on fan art I had to...examine Thane's outfit very closely to get certain details right. Unless his clothes come apart somewhere I'm not aware of, his shoes look like they're connected to his pants.

Have I mentioned that I like the direction this conversation is taking. XD

After much time spent considering Thane's outfit, I have decided that the feet (I call them his booties!) must indeed be attached to his pants. There's just no other way, unless in the future, they have ultra invisible zips that can disappear into leather. XD

I have some screenshots where you can see that there's no obvious line on his pant legs for them to attach. I have his 3D model too but I've since been unable to open it. Hopefully these will suffice.



But now onto a more pressing question, are his pants attached to the rest of his outfit?



Because he looks to be wearing a full-body suit under that jacket. I suppose it's possible they can detach if the pants are an odd shape at the top and dip down at the front but it really looks to be in one whole piece...
That can't be practical if you need to rush to the bathroom!!!

Thane's outfit probably consists of only two pieces. The body suit and the jacket. There's probably supposed to be some kind of third piece underneath the body suit.

Look at Kolyat and Feron who wear the same thing. Their chests and hands are covered while Thane's chest and hands are not. Whatever that third piece was, Thane removed it on his outfit.

It looks like a full body suit to me too. Sometimes in fanfic people have a vest and pants, but it never looked seperate to me.
It certainly doesn't hide anything, and it doesn't look that easy to get out of.

I personally like both the ideas, that it's a body suit and the separate pieces theory. Body suit because that's most like what it appears to be and separate because that's just practical. Both for Thane and writers of certain fanfictions >_>

Other reasons may be that it's easier to make slight, more precise movements, like pulling triggers.

And I wouldn't say his outfit is slippery, per se. More like smooth. And that would certainly aid with better movement, especially in tight spaces like vents! The only problem is it's tendency to stick against hard surfaces and itself with too much pressure and the noise it makes when it does... anyone else that has had experience with leather know what I mean? Maybe whatever Thane's outfit is made of doesn't have that issue.

I agee that it probably doesn't have those same kinds of issues like sticking to things or noise. In all the trailers no one ever seems to see or hear him coming. Although in the LotSB surveillance video I think the guy saw him, but then he disappeared into the shadows.

Yeah that's what I figure too. I mean, it is the future and not only has human technology evolved (and with it, the materials humans make things from), I'm sure there are plenty of alien materials too. So surely there are a lot of materials in the Mass Effect universe that do not exist in our world today.

Yeah, in DA2 they made the elves bare foot (or nearly, in Fenris' case.) Never noticed that his shoes were part of his outfit before Hanar! And it would be quite difficult to use the toilet. If Drell use the toilet that is. Great art by Abnocte, she needs to come on here again
