Is anyone going to buy this. The description made me smile.

http://biowarestore....ffect/thane-tee

Haha! I laughed at the decription

I'm still going to lick the shirt though.. :bandit:

 Me too. SO funny! :P

On another note: Old Spice Thane is making me want to do another fanpic, though I haven't even finished the first one yet. One of him on an Elcor! Pfft.:P  I think Thane would make a great Drell Spice Guy! (I'm not saying that Dress Spice would turn our men into hot, sexy, philosophical, assassinating aliens, but I sure wish it would!)

Speaking of which, I know it's not Thane, but I am assuming most of you have seen this Critical Miss webcomic on the escapist site:

www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/comics/critical-miss/8909-Critical-Miss-Spice-Effect

Really need to post that on the Garrus thread.

@Tasha thanks for the Thane/horse pic. Me likie. Me likie alottie.

OH! I started my first Thane/FShep fanfic. I should have the first chap up on fanfic in a few days!

That comic made me laugh.

I'm looking forward to reading your fanfic when it's up. I'm always looking for more Thane fanfic.

You know what? Even if mass effect 3 DOES have a cure for thane, I know that there will be a few unhappy people that wont like that (well they can get over it) think of it this way....If Cerberus can find a way to bring back a dead person, Then there should be SOMETHING that should be able to help Thane live longer.

Yes. Even though it took two years, tons of credits and the top scientists and cutting edge equipment- once you beat death in a universe where beating death has never been done before, anything ailment less than death suddenly feels cheap and only in place for the sake of drama.

Heck, every time I died in game I was like, "Hey, it's only a bullet to the brain. I was burned up in the atmosphere and collaided with a planet while falling at Mach 2... this is nothing. Lazarus Project, lets go again!" That's really why they shouldn't have done the whole ressurection thing, should have just put Shepard in a coma.

Then they wouldn't have to deal with questions such as, "How come his body wasn't reduced to molecules" or "how did they restart his brain, the most important part of bringing someone back?"

And when it gets to Thane, "So we can fix death, but not extend Thane's life until there is a cure for Keprals? Science seems picky in this universe..."

Yeah, I think a lot of us are, including myself.  I knew that doing a romance with Thane could end badly and yet, my Shep didn't care she liked him too much to let dying get in the way of it.  I hope that there is a choice to save him, who knows, I try to avoid spoilers like really bad in-laws.  Either way, my Shep's fate is already determined by me and regardless of how the story plays, she will be with him one way or another.   Until then, I hope for the best and keep my calendar cleared during release week.

I imagine thane's gods being less petty than the greek pantheon.

Been playing skyrim, created a black eyed wood elf in tribute to ser krios... she's now been labelled a 'Thane'... made me smile.

Well said ;)!

Off-Topic: I did some what of the same idea for the lovely Thane. I made a Argonian , and took a picture of Thane to do a comparison. Turned out pretty well I must say. *Nods* B)

The way I see it, last game they were on a suicide mission, so everyone's life expectancy got a lot shorter XD

Even if they did survive that, no one can rest until the Reaper threat is stopped. Everyone's life hangs in the balance until they do.
It's not just Thane's life that could end abruptly.

But I tend to think that there should be a choice in the matter :)

Shepards death was cheap, and stupid. Now they expect us to beleive that there is not way to cure Thane, but we can cheat death. How does that make any real sense.

I also don't remember hearing a lot of complaining about Shepard being brought back. Maybe some did, but not that many. If you bring up Thane maybe getting a cure they act as if the world is coming to an end.

I just hope they give us a choice in the matter. I would really like the chance to cure him if I can.

Well, I'm sure they'll add an option to have Thane die if that makes you feel better.

Why would that make me feel better?

If they give us an option i'm sure there will be the choice to let him die if you want, or he could die fighting in the war.
I just wanted an option to save him If I can. If not than I'll just have to deal with that.

I am sure there will be an option to save him somehow, Bioware wouldn't make something like that mandatory (I hope!)

And if they do give him a non-negotiable death, then it will be epic, and right at the very end of the game. And as it is the last in the trilogy, then it won't have a massive impact.

But of course, I will always prefer Thane alive and kicking, I am just keeping an open mind that that isn't necessarily what will definately happen.

So if Feron is Skittles, then what sweet/chocolate bar is Thane? :)

I've never got the impression that BioWare expects us to believe that there's no way to cure Thane

Maybe they don't, but sometimes it feels like they do. If they don't give us the option to at least attempt to cure him or somehow prolong his life then they do expect us to believe that we can cheat death, but not some disease.

Even if they don't allow us to cure him I hope his story is well written. No matter what they do if it is written badly that would ruin his character.

Thane is green tea. I can't think of a candy bar to name Thane after.

I need to think about this one a little more. Maybe someone can come up with something better for him.

Thane give you a nickname. I wonder how he would feel if Shepard gave him one.

BioWare haven't at all denied the possibilty for a cure. In fact, they are the ones who invented the whole concept of a cure in the first place.
Thane mentions that hanar scientists are working on a cure, that's not something the fandom has made up. The writers also suggested that there are alternative treatments in Lair of the Shadow Broker.
I would even go so far as to say that they are suggesting that a cure is very possible.
Thane just doubts he will be around when something like that is created.
But Thane started off doubting a lot of things... :P

Uhh, hn.. You're the second person who thought I want Thane to die... >_< I thought my above post made it clear that I think it's ridiculous to cure death but draw the line at Kepral's Syndrome...

I never said that bioware denied the possibility of a cure. I'm one of the few people who actually believed that bioware never really had any intention on killing Thane. I thought that maybe they just added the illness for drama. It's just in recent weeks I have started to wonder what their intentions are when it comes to Thane. I know that there is still a very good possibility that Thane could his cure. I certainly hope so.

When Thane says he doubt he will be around I have to wonder if he knows how far along they might be from a cure. I wonder if he has looked into it resently. When you first meet him he seems like he has pretty much given up on life, so I doubt he has really kept up with how the reserch is going.

It is very true that Thane does start off doubting things. I'm glad that we are able to change some of that druing the game.Image IPB

All this talk of green tea and green tea icecream makes me think of the icecream Thane I made when I was in New York!

I managed to grab a picture of it but not before I ate his face... OOPS!

It had green tea icecream as the head, chocolate icecream for the dark details like his stripes and strawberry icecream for his cheeks :)
And it was delicious!

That looks great. Did you do that, or did someone make that for you?

I think those would be Thanes favorite ice cream flavors. Green tea, chocolate, and strawberry.

Now I want my own Thane Ice cream.Image IPB

Yeah XD Me and two Thane fans I met up with that day made it. We were eating at a hibachi grill. They were the ones who kindly donated the chocolate and strawberry :P I got the green tea.

Also made this in New York.

You may find they resemble something familiar ^_^
