When Thane says he doubt he will be around I have to wonder if he knows how far along they might be from a cure. I wonder if he has looked into it resently. When you first meet him he seems like he has pretty much given up on life, so I doubt he has really kept up with how the reserch is going.

It is very true that Thane does start off doubting things. I'm glad that we are able to change some of that druing the game.

It's one reason I find him so interesting. You actually have the ability to change him; you can see his character develop within the span of a single game as a result. It's a gradual kind of development but it's definitely there.

Jack is the same if you romance her, by the way. But it's a little more obvious with Thane.

I think you pretty much sums it up for me Fiery. That's one of the great things about Thane's romance.

I'm going to be doing Jacks romance on my next playthrough, because I heard some good things about it.

Jack is pretty much the female version of Thane when it comes to the romance arc by itself. You should check her out. I think you will enjoy the romance.

The adventures of Hanar and the Thane plushie sound amazing! And in New York too! I do envy you Hanar, I have never even been out of my country .

As for Jack's romance, they are very similar. And her romance made her one of my favourite characters. (Mind you, I have many favourite characters!)

There are a couple I am indifferent about, one that I wish I liked, but just can't, and one that I just can't like no matter how hard I try. I just love some characters more than others. (As I am sure you can tell!)

Yep, we're all different sorts of people so we're all gonna have different opinions. What was it that Samara said about humans? Three of us and there will be six of them.

Out of all the squadmates, there are, surprisingly, zero that I flat-out don't care for. A couple I'm ambivalent on, maybe, but even that's a stretch. I think I made out like a bandit. That and I'm a sucker for BioWare's writers. >_>

Ah, I thought of someone I can't stand but they're not a squadmate. That and, er, we're supposed to hate them. So I guess this doesn't count after all. But seriously, curse you, Ethan Jeong. I'm mostly a Paragon but I can't resist the urge to shoot you every single time.

The current Thane would probably do the job pro bono if it was justifiable. At the height of his career, I would imagine he was expensive to hire. Plus I don't think you would hire him for a simple job but one that had a lot of risk but needed to be done efficiently, quickly and discretely.

That would definitely depend on the circumstances. It would also depend on how you roleplay your Shepard. I know if I romance Thane my Shepard would be down with hanging out with both of 'em.

I considered this when I first romanced him. But after playing through the romance, I concluded that he could smooth things over with Kolyat while being with Shepard. Perhaps she can even help him with Kolyat?

I understand that when he had Irikah and Kolyat, he couldn't juggle that with his job. But the circumstances are different now. Thane now travels with Shepard, so as long as she allows him to spend time with his son (which my Sheps would) then I can't see how it would be detrimental to Thane and Kolyat.

I can't see that happening unless Shepard was trying to come between them, and that's certainly not the style of any of my Thanemancing sheps.  I doubt Kolyat would be wanting his Dad staying with him anyway.  I think Thane and Shep could have an apartment on the Citadel so that they could visit often.

I don't think Thane wants or needs to stay with Kolyat. No romance or not.
He seems about the age where he is an adult, and Kolyat has his own life to sort out, he probably doesn't need the father who abandoned him living with him and watching his every move.
Thane can still support him, yes. Keeping in regular contact is great! But I think living together may drive them both a little insane Just because they are probably so unused to each other, especially since Kolyat has matured a lot since Thane last saw him.

No.
Kolyat doesn't need Thane to stay with him. He also isn't ready for something like that. He and his father still have a lot to work out, and that's what Thane is trying to do. He still keeps in touch with his son, and I'm sure goes to see him when he can.

The only way I could see that happening is if Sheprad tried to come between them, and that would never happen. Shepard knows how important it is to Thane to fix his relationship with his son so she would do what ever she could to help.
