Alcohol can make humans forget so maybe it would mess with Thane's memory too.

But Thane isn't human. He is a drell. The rules may not be the same with his culture.

It's not about rules or culture, I'm just saying that if Thane got really drunk, his memory of that night might be compromised.  I realize he's not human  ... doesn't mean his memory could not be affected.

I think the psychtropic effects of snogging a Drell may have been slightly exagerated in the fandom...

Maybe drell aren't born with perfect memory. Maybe it's something that develops over time which is why they don't remember the birth trama.

Alcohol also doesn't make every human forget. I have been pretty drunk once or twice in my life and I remember everything I said and did. I do know that some people do forget what may have happened if they get too drunk.

Maybe human alcohol won't effect Thane's memory, but maybe a Drell alcohol would.

Unless the game tells us we are left to guess.

All Mordin says is that it will cause mild hallucinations. The hallucinations may or may not get worse if you prolong the longer she has contact with his skin. Mordin never really goes into that much detail.

I know they probably won't do it, but It would be interesting to see Shepard hallucinate in the game.

I'm talking about it affecting his memory.  We don't know how alcohol of any kind affects his memory.

Are you sure about that? An alien chemical compound may produce the same effects but not be the same one found here on earth. This seems to me to smack of the assumption that we have a vastly superior knowledge of chemistry than we actually do. I mean, we didn't even have the same number of elements on the periodic table 30 yrs ago that we do today. It will likely have changed another 30 years from now. Just because a chemical or element isn't found on earth, doesn't mean it doesn't exist somewhere else. And just because our alcohol affects us, it doesn't mean that it will have the same effect on an alien being.

I think they established that with the existence of dextro-dna. turians and quarians can't eat or drink anything that humans do, and vice versa, because they will die. the chemical compounds of such have different effects for each species. Just because humans and drell are both leno-dna dosn't mean that our "alcohols" are going to be the same, or have the same effects.

In reference to drinks, alcohol means this:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethanol.   If you don't mean that, then don't confuse the issue by using the word.

If a situation did come up where Thane started drinking I'd imagine he could hold his liquor pretty well (or maybe he can't). Shepard could still beat Thane in a contest though. XP

I think he could hold his liquor.

I don't think he would be a mean drunk. Maybe more happy. I don't really see him being a falling down, or dancing on tables kind of drunk. Although that would be fun to watch if he did. I can see him still trying to maintain control over his emotions, but failing if he gets drunk.
