I have a question.
Does anyone think Thane would have still joind Shepards mission if he were not sick?

Beautiful screenies as always Ava.

And a good question. I think he would have, but he would have wanted pay. Thane seems outraged at how collectors are abducting humans (and he does seem to have quite a fascination with humans.) And it is no secret that Thane kills those whom he deems are better off dead. The collectors would certainly fill that criteria.

His thirst for justice seems to be something that has been with him all his life. Not just a product of his terminal illness. He did say how when he freelanced, he targeted the corrupt. It is his way of justifying his lifestyle. And so I still think he would join Shepard.

Totally off topic but an interesting question I just (like a second ago) came across in a comment on a Garrus fanart pic "A Wounded Garrus" by Jennifer Stolzer on the Mass Effect 2 Facebook page:

Who would win: Fenris or Thane?

I believe it would depened on what kind of battle it would be.
My vote would probably be Thane, he moves swiftly, and fast as lighting
But I am sure other Drell can move fast like Thane too.

I'm kinda stumped on this now.
Now through out my Thanksgiving dinner, I will be thinking about this question ! :P

@JECWSU

I think he would have joined the mission and I don't think that he would have insisted upon being paid for it although if he had been approached by cerberus with an offer he may have accepted the payment.
I always thought that his taking bad things from the world was more a product of Irikah being murdered than his illness. I think his illness brings more urgency to his aim so I imagine that his motivations would have been the same, if a little less intense.

I think taking bad things was more a product of Kolyat actually. Since he stopped being just an Assassin when he met Irikah and started again when she died. Plus, he mentions that he does random contracts while Irikah was alive since it was his only skill. I think the 'removing bad things' theme started up when he lost Irikah and risked losing Kolyat.

I want a Thane plushie to hug, his story is so sad, I almost cried when he go taken by the seeker swarms. Stupid Miranda, she told me she could do the barrier. It makes me a little sad for Garrus cause I romanced him in my renegade playthrough, but still took Thane everywhere with me, and everytime there was a *see if they're dead* cutscene she always checked Thane first. :P

Watching videos on YouTube, on people killing Thane on the SM, I cry, :(.
It's sad to see people do that because they don't like him , like all of us do.
And listenting too his deleted line, if he dies on the SM , "You look...beautiful Siha." :crying:

LOL I know what you mean on how Shepard always checks on Thane first. It's cute and funny. I felt bad for Garrus, on the suicide mission I had Garrus and Thane with me (totally bad ass if you have them together ) and my Shepard went and checked on Thane first.
Sorry Garrus..!

My femshep always does too. But she also always leaves Garrus for Thane. Poor Garrus. He really needs some loving too.:(

What can I say, she just can't resist the thoughtful, sophisticated, spiritual, mature badass that is Thane.

@LiveLoveThaneKrios Sorry about that. Hope I didn't distract you from dinner too much. For the record, I go for Thane. I mean, Fenris may be able to tear Thane's heart out with his bare hand, but Thane can snipe him before Fenris even knows his there. Plus, in the trailers, Thane seems just so much more agile than Fenris. Fenris is brute force, with his lyrim enhanced powers and that broadsword of his *sigh*, but Thane is a powerful, deadly grace and elegance. So even if they ended up going hand to hand, I'd still say Thane would be able to outmaneuvre him and take him out. but whomever looses, FemShep or FemHawke would be there to console the loser and celebrate with the victor. ;)

@Fleshdress and LiveLoveThaneKrios: Hanar's making me a plushie. Tasha too, I think. :D

Thank you Tash, and I agree. I think he still would have joined Shepard on her mission, because he does seem to care about these colonist that have gone missing. There's a chance he could have still done it for free, but he probably would have wanted payment. Of course after he and Shepard become involved I don't think he would take the money. Everything else would still stay the same. Shepard can still help him with his son, and he would still wish to stay with her. I don't think anything but his death could make him leave her.

Ah, no worries! I had too watch my sisters kids, so sadly, that ruined my train of thought on the question. But I have to agree with you about the question. Fenris is brute force. He'd probably try and charge at Thane and Thane would probably already be behind him smackin him around, or already have shot him down. Hahaha. I love Fenris, almost as much as Thane, but Thane would have too win that battle hands down.

And Hanar is making you a plushie?! Oh my goodness I want one! Haha, I'll need too message Hanar later and ask her about it.

I want to donate but I don't have an online account. Thane is far behind. Geeze Tali fans, slow down. :D Just a question once you romance say Garrus does that lock down the romance paths, after the game it says you can go back and build relationships, that doesn't mean I can start dating Thane does it?

Did you finish his romance, because if you finished it I don't think you can start dating Thane after that.

And Hanar is making me a plushie too. I really excited about it.Image IPB

Plushies sure are popular!
I'm heading into town tomorrow to pick up some materials. Then hopefully I will have what I need to start making them!

And I agree. Having Kepral's would have only encouraged his goal to start "making the universe brighter". I think he would have had that goal whether he was dying or not. It's whether or not he would be so fine with it being an especially risky mission. The main reason that low survival odds doesn't bother him is because he is dying. If he had a longer life expectancy, I think it would be harder for him to make the choice, if anything.
But he would find the mission is worthy, regardless.

Actually, you can! I've heard of people doing it before, breaking up with Garrus at the end of the suicide mission then romancing Thane. Same for any of the LIs. You can even have the final romance scene with them, even though you are not going through the Omega 4 relay!
I have yet to test this myself though.

It's a glitch: you're supposed to have no or one romance per playthrough. This is why the final romance scene is set to happen under the consideration that you're going through the Omega-4 Relay. As of yet, it is unknown how this may affect ME3.

One of many glitches I guess. I didn't even know you could do that.
Does Thane even mention you being involved with someone else, and how do you get the final romance scene without going through the Omega 4 relay?

You get it as if you were going through Omega-4, Ava. It's messed up. A very embarrassing glitch.

Not many people know about it simply because no one typically does that; people tend to be fully committed to whomever it is they choose to romance and thus stick with them for the entirety of that playthrough.

Who would win a fight between Fenris and Thane?
I think they would fight hand to hand, after oiling up. LMAO That was very wrong... ahem.Image IPB

So, someone please explain to me the fascination with the plushies? I am at a loss. Image IPB

I don't really have a fascination with plushies, but this one is a Thane plushie so it's special. Plus Hanar made a really nice one that I wanted.

So is the fascination because you can snuggle with Thane or it is the plusher itself as in excellent construction? I am not a teddy bear/stuffed animal kind of person so, I can see the appeal of it being of Thane but it there more to it? :)

This this!!!!

Fenris vs Thane...mmmm...tough call.
Although it does seem that Thane is stealhier, and would therefore have the upper hand.
Maybe they can fight, then sit down and chat???  Ooooooh both those smouldering voices together??  My head would probably explode....

I do really have many stuffed animals either. I do have some dolls I've collected though. I think for me it's because it's Thane. I really wouldn't want any other character. To me it's no different than a Thane doll or the t-shirt. When they offered theThane action figure, and the t-shirt I didn't buy either of those, so maybe it is also because it's soft and stuffed. My husband thinks it's silly that I want  the Thane plushie, but he thinks I'm crazy for liking Thane at all.

See this is why I love this thread. I get to express my "unique" sense of humor and most others have thought the same! Then again I just end up blushing after posting, like right now.

Fenris' VA is in Skyrim. I am serious. When I was in Solitude, there was a guard talking and I literally screamed, "FENRIS!" My husband laughed so hard. XD

Both Thane and Fenis, talking, just talking... Oh my...

I have the Thane figurine. He stands next to my laptop on my desk. ;) So I get it now. Yeah, I don't care much for a plushie or a shirt but a mug with Thanes picture, had one made, and my Thane figurine. Yes!
