Yes it wasn't the nicest thing to say. Ashley doesn't have the nicest things to say about Liara either if you pick Liara over her in ME1.  I don't think he says anything really racist about Thane. I think he says something about his sad eyes or something like that. Fiery I'm sure would know. I never do the love triangle, because I forget about the other LI's to be honest.  I've only done it once by accident in ME1. I was very careful not to do it again.

Lol, I wouldn't do it, but I really want that competing for your eyes comment. I would leave Garrus for him and not Jacob but in 'I love you' order Thane and Garrus at this point are pretty much neck to neck. So much so that I am having difficulty carrying my new playthrough cause I don't want to choose between them. Where as I hold not love past having a bro for Jacob, and since I am mad at Jacob right now he may get some abuse until I feel bad and reload and break up with the middle "don't mention Garrus" option. Ffff, Jacob just has a bit of a temper on him. If he didn't resort to slamming my babies it would make me like him more cause he needs the personality boost.

I just have one Garrus romance myself, so I would tell you to go for Thane. I guess you could make it even. If you have two for Thane do two for Garrus.

I need to finish up my playthroughs befor ME3 comes out. I still have two more, and I have only done LotSB for one playthrough,and I still have to finish up the Arrival dlc. Arrival isn't really my favorite so that's going to be hard. Especially since I can't take Thane or Garrus with me.

Oh man, I never saw the last part before.  How terrible, the thought of Thane staring at cold metal walls, wondering uf Shepard will change her mind. >_< And that truly ends it doesn't it? Or is it possible to go back and say, "I'm sorry Thane I didn't mean it!!!!"

Shepard can also stop the romance by saying she can't love a dying man. So many ways to break a drell's heart ;-;

He is so well written!!   I'm so glad I've romanced Thane every PT but one and that was Garrus.  And I stayed away from Thane just to avoid giving in to temptation!!

That's the dialogue that I was thinking of. That last rejection line made me want to give in, so I did try to go back and apologise. It didn't work. Got that "my gun is yours" dialogue i mentioned last page. Imagining Thane sitting there, drinking whatever is in that bloody cup of his, loosing himself in solipsism, his health deteriorating because of it. I'm leaving Jacob for him this next playthrough. I have to....

The idea of him waiting hoping Shepard changes her mind is so sad.

This is why I can never ever reject him. How can you not love him, and just want to give him a hug. Those rejection lines also make it clear how much he loves Shepard.

I knew the "I hope I won't offend you..." line was spoken in a different scenario than what Tasha presumed, but for the life of me I couldn't remember which is which. Such great dialogue, though.

Same. Still avoiding playing though, weirdly just branching off the romances feels like cheating on one. and I should do the Garrus romance again before I do a Gay Shep for ME3 but Thane is so hard to resist. And I miss actually conversing with my LI.

You can't even go back and tell him you have changed your mind. Bioware just wants to make us cry. Thane doesn't have to worry he has all of my femShep except two, and with those two I had to avoid talking to him much. With the Garrus one I actually forgot, and almost romanced Thane at the same time.

He says that line to MShep too.
To me, that quote doesn't seem to show a romantic interest, but rather a growing trust and companionship that Thane has formed with Shepard.
Because Thane can be an awesome friend too, not just a romantic partner.
He's my most recent FemShep's best friend in my head-canon

It's mine, too. That little pause right there, not only did he have to think about her intentions, he had to think for a bit to realise that he wanted her too.
