And the drell salarian, that really made me lol. Brilliant tactics and strategies blended with collar popping awesomeness. Love it!
Gideon Emery has a very recognisable voice, and he does a heck of a lot of work. Keythe Farley does more work on managing voice acting, and so doesn't do as much actual voice acting himself. Mass Effect is lucky to have such talented voice acting (and very famous people as well.
For example, Fred Tatasciore (Saren) voices the Hulk. And Steve Blum (Grunt and others) voices Wolverine. Hmm, it may not be a good sign that I know things like that off the top of my head.
Edit: Top! Teehee.

I totally recognized his voice as well - he definitely just sounds like Thane, which is nice - what a great voice to have!! I also always recognize Gideon Emery - his actual voice is SO close to Fenris's that I never mistake him. In Skyrim every time I find an Imperial Soldier I purposely try to talk to him just to hear Fenris!!
That WAS Fenris wasn't it?! I was playing a few days ago and I swore that was him!
Was that all Imperial Soldiers? Cause I didn't notice it, though it could be because I have been busy chasing butterflies.
And is it just the Imperial Soldiers? If it i then it seems a shame to me that he didn't get a bigger part. I've always liked his work, and the way he played Fenris, and well, he's definitely got top stop of my "favourite spine tingling male voices" list. Next to Keythe and Sir Sean Connery that is.
EDIT: I've always loved that Thane and Fish pic. <3 That fish is as captivated by Thane as Shepard is! lol
EDIT #2: I'm also still only about 3 hours into Skyrim, so I don't know these things yet.

I don't think it's all but it's quite a few of them! I remember hearing his voice in a dungeon too but I wan't sure whether that was an Imperial soldier or not, could be he voiced some other minor roles too.

Yeah, he's not all Imperial soldiers, but he's certainly a good chunk of them. It's fun attacking a fort amongst a sea of Fenrises. (Or Balthiers, if you prefer.)
He's also a bunch of mercs ("You are nothing, you hear me? NOTHING!") outside (and inside) Goldenglow Estate, (and I'm guessing other places) a named npc that went slightly mad in a dwemer ruin, and Gaius Maro. There are probably tons more examples that I haven't stumbled across yet.
Keythe Farley had asked people if anyone had recognized him in Resistance 3 for the ps3, nobody did as far as I know. I don't have a ps3 so I can't join in the fun. But I'm sure I could pick him out...
I haven't played the game either. I don't have a PS3, I prefer my xbox. Has Keythe Farley done any other voice work for computer games? None spring to mind.
Also, my new profile picture arrived a week and a half after uploading it! I wish I had gone for a festive Thane now xD Looks a little squashed though :s
I think someone did find him in Resistance 3 a while ago. I remember they linked it on youtube. I'm not sure if it's still there. I have a ps3, but I haven't played that game.
First thing that's popped into my head, stop me if it's already been discussd, but for the last few days I've been wondering: If Thane and Shepard decided to serenade each other, what would they sing?
I have no idea what Thane would sing, or if he even would. But in my head my Shep has a little operatic training. So she would sing either Unchained Melody (the Italian Il Divo cover), or Seven Seas by Visions of Atlantis.
Il Divo
Visions of Atlantis
My reasons for unchained melody seem pretty obvious, since it's considered one of the greatest love songs of all time, and well, I think it sounds best in Italian.
As for Seven Seas, ever since I played through Thane's romance, and heard of his religion, this song has always seemed the most appropriate. The oceanic references to me parallel their romance. Especially the line "I'm here over water". In the beginning of the romance Thane had resigned himself to death. He was mentally "across the sea" even if his body wasn't. Shepard reached across the water, and brought him back to the land of the living. The first line "I tried to reach you through this fog of ancient fear" seems to represent the struggles they would have had to overcome to simply look past the fact that they were each aliens. There are so many others but those two will do or this will turn into an essay.
As to why I think of my Shep as an operatic vocalist? Well, the military here tends to place a high emphasis on cultural education, as well as tatical, weapon, and physical education. I figured that the Alliance is sending out humans as representatives of the species. It makes sense (to me) that a cultural education would be a high priority, And since my Shep is an Earthborn, it makes sense (to me) that she would have had some fleeting contact with all aspects of human society at some point before she was shipped off-world.

Oh...
Thane singing to Shepard. I can think of only one song. "You're the Only Place" by Josh Groban. That is prefect. Its everything.
Shepard to Thane, well. Only one other song, "Everything" by Lifehouse. Thane is literally, everything.
I don't know if I can imagine a seranade but I think a Leonard Cohen track would suit Thane very well.
I've seen alot of bands in my time and Leonard Cohen at Glastonbury 2008 was the most magical (I was in not a fan until I saw him).
I don't imagine Thane to have a technically great singing voice but I think his deep voice could do Cohen some justice and I think the poetic lyrics of Cohen would also appeal to Thane.
I don't know about serenading one another but for a song if Thane dies I can't cry hard enough By Bellefire. Breaks my effing heart. Makes me cry everytime.
Hmmm Will have to think for Serenading but I think I want to see them dance to Sway by Micheal Buble.
Hello, I'm new on this thread but I am sure a huge fan on Thane Krios, and I've got this username to prove it! XD
While, we're on this subject, one song that's made me cry was "Stairway to the Skies" by Within Temptation. It reminded me of another video game character I knew who died near the end of the game. I've got a feeling it may fit with Shepard if she witnesses Thane's death.
Is it horrible that the first thing that popped into my head for Thane is "It isn't easy being Green" by Kermit the Frog?? Ah I'm awful!! I love that drell!!!
Anyway....I'll have to think more on this and get back to you!

Welcome to the thread! And nice username! Much better than my gramatically incorrect one that I made a long time ago .
And such great music taste here! i love Within Temptation, Visions of Atlantis, Evanescence, and Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah' is breath-taking.
But the song I think of when I think of Thane is: Back to Life by Mostly Autumn It is an absolutely beautiful song by an incredible, and yet hugely unappreciated band. For those of you that like tha bands I mentioned above, you will love Mostly Autumn.
This song really makes me think of how Shepard gently awakens Thane from his battle sleep, and how she gives him hope for the future.
Did the lyrics have a connection with Thane?
Was it the feel of the music itself?
Was there a story element close to Thane's journey?
Was there a Thanesque element that is indescribable?
I am always asking, why?
For me, Josh Grobans song reflected Thanes spirituality. That was the first characteristic that drew me to him. As a spiritual person, I can relate to his praying. I saw in Lifehouse's song, the slow build up of first seein Thane then getting to know him then the change in the music reflected the change in his character after his loyalty mission.
One great thing about music is that any person can interpret it the way he/she wants. "Everything" My favorite Lifehouse song besides "Storm". And of course this song is PERFECT for Thane. What a great combination of story and song. All of the songs on Lifehouse's album are about God...they're a Christian band...and I love how their songs can be interpreted in different ways.
Can I get some help on that other Thane thread? Those desperate for death people keep attacking him and I'm on my tablet and cant beat them back, point by point, as fast as I'd like.
...on topic, the current conversation made me go watch that futuristic lover vid about three times....

Katy Perry must have played ME2 and romanced Thane :P Sexy song for a sexy Thane.
@Asenza - Ehh, I just let those people be. I've learned that their minds don't change. They see the character differently than we do. Some even have valid points, but seem to always fail to see the big picture.
I personally will accept whatever ME3 has in regards to Thane. His is actually the only death I'm prepared for.
I'd say Katy Perry's "E.T." fits Thane well in a fashionable, romantic sense. I remember reading something on FanFiction.net where Shepard gets drunk on karaoke night on Illium and she sings that very song! It's called "Idiotic Times..." The title's longer, but I can't remember the rest of it.
