Yes i do realise musicians are poets, but Thane would be more of a literary poet.

I agree with this. Thane has the soul of a poet. His eloquent way of speaking is one of the things that immediately drew me to his character. The descriptions of his memories are especially poignant. I love the beautiful, vivid way he describes the Hanar:

Looping, diving. So fast the eye can't follow. Laughing like the squeals of a child vibrate the water. They fly over the black of the water like birds plumed with the light of heaven. 
 
He seems like a really intelluctual, well-read man. I can easily see him as a writer and he'd be a good one with so much life experience to draw upon.

I check the page when I get the chance, he hasn't updated in a while. But he DID say it was a good idea and he'd look into it. It'd be a nice Christmas gift to the fans.....

Just to clarify, he wasn't the one that said it'd be a nice Christmas gift. So it's not certain that we'll get it for the holidays, or at all, really. I'm sure, though, that if he had the time to do it, he would. He seems like a really classy guy.

I'm glad he's in it, but I wil be happy when see what they do with him in ME3. Ashley and Kaidan were in ME2, but their fans were far from happy.

That said, the one who wrote his LOTSB letter is Jay Watamaniuk. My gut feeling says he's the writer in question, in which case I would be happy.

That would be great news if the person who wrote LotSB was Thanes new writer. Judging from the letter he seems to have a good understanding of the character.

We can only hope that the change in wiriters doesn't hold too many ramifications to Thane's character. I think a writer was replaced by another when writing Garrus in ME2, but that made more people happy than unhappy.

             Most likely, so just heat up interest in the third part... I think it will be very emotional ME3 strong.

Yes, that's true. Garrus was written by Mac Walters in ME1, but in ME2 he was written by Patrick Weekes. It does seem like people like Garrus more now, though we can never be sure if the change in writers really is the reason for that.

It's a double-edged sword, really. I can't say I'm particularly worried, though; they have their best writers working on ME3. And if the letter was any indication, this is the least of my worries.

This game is going to be the finale to the trilogy, this is the end of the Mass Effect universe (for now), and it's certainly the end of Shepard story.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Everyone has their own ideal of ME. People want a happy ending for their Shepard and their love interest.( Ability to save Thane, more than sure will... )                                                                                                                                                           How's that for a happy ending?

I'm not worried about a new writer at all, especially if the letter was written by said new writer. That person obviously gets Thane.

I definitely want a happy ending for my Shep and Thane - I want a happy ending period.

And all I can do is hope for the best for Thane in ME3. Like several people have said, Garrus was a "surprise" in ME2, and clearly a great one for most people.

Now it's just the waiting game....11 weeks and 4 days to go! Must book time off...must book time off....

Broke down last night, read spoilers got to some Thane stuff and though I really, really wanted to I closed it down. I just couldn't. Cause if I found out he dies I would be much less excited for the game so... still unspoiled for Thane and very, very wary. I mean Bioware does so adore killing people off since DA2.

Love that pic wasp. I wish in DA3 to give our femsheps longer hair. I love short, my own hair is up to my chin, but I am getting a little bored with the short styles in the game. Even the mods.

 I support the idea that everyone had a real choice. The choice is always and everywhere, and the game, in my opinion, should not be an exception. I think the gaming industry in the first place and is designed to listen to the fans, as it was at their expense and develops. Fall short of expectations fans of the series of games-epic fail.

Having FemShep have longer hair in ME3 sounds really interesting, and I did see those six FemShep posters. I can definitely tell some of the old styles have modified.

Has any one seen that the person who voiced Ashley on ME ALSO read her letter out loud, (like the kaiden letter) yet? this may be old news...though it gives me a little hope that maybe we may be able to see Thanes LotSB letter to FemShep read aloud! maybe...maybe...

We are hoping. Keythe said that he would see if he could do it, and now we're just playing the waiting game. Hard as that is.

Like Fiery said, his original writer was great, and the guy who wrote his LoTSB letter was great as well. So I imagine Bioware will only settle for the best to be Thane's writer.

As for Keythe reading his letter, nothing else has been said aside from the pic I posted here when he replied. But we are hoping Like Shepenwet said, you will know if he does it, the thread will explode with squeeing

Okay I seriously can't wait another two months for ME3. I am so excited yesterday I was thinking about it and I got butterflies in my stomache. I just... need ME3, right now. Yesterday. Gah. I am so excited for absolutly anything that goes down in that game. Most anticipated game of 2012 indeed.

I was drawn to Thanes character because he is so...gentle somehow.

From all my playthroughs with Hawke/Warden/Shepard, I have this strange love for my femShep romancing Thane because; My femShep Friera is such a hardass woman (renegade) who get the job done regardless of how brutal it is. She is a stonecold woman in many ways. But whenever she is with Thane, she seems so warm and they are holding hands and talking about going on vacation etc. Such a sweet tender romance, which complement my femShep in every way. It´s just..perfect.

I simply love this game...

On another topic; why does Thane have gill-like (on his cheeks) anatomy like a fish, when humidity kills him? I think that was a strange choice of the designers.

Not that Im complaining...
