I haven't played LotSB, so I'm not sure exactly how they handled it, but Shepard getting help from the team is a good thing. I liked the way many of them had their own specialties in the suicide mission, and it would be nice to see that idea expanded in ME3. With an assassin as a major enemy for Shepard, it would be perfect for Thane, if BioWare chose to go that route.

Sorry.I hope I didn't spoil it for you.

I agree. Shepard getting help can only be a good thing. Especially with situations like this. Shepard is good, and very well trained, but an assassin is different. Some thing shepard just wouldn't know, and Shepard shouldn't be able to take him down that easily.

I agree that this would be perfect for Thane if Bioware did this.

SPOILERS!!!                                                                                                                                                                                    It's not very clear, but there's some dialogue where you can chew out Mirands's killer (definitely Kai Leng) for Thane's death as well as hers.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        Also, I saw something in the main file about finding a Cerberus-free way for Kolyat to the hospital, so he could act as blood donor  for his father...                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              As I  have  understood, there should be a certain sequence of actions to rescue Thane from Kai Leng.  After that, Shepard will have with Thane a dialogue in Citadel hospital.

Don't worry about spoiling anything for me, I always read the spoilers. xD The descriptions from the ME Wiki give me the basic review of what happens, but if I don't watch it on youtube (which I didn't for LotSB) I can miss some of the details.

Wow. I need to finish reading the spoilers, because I didn't find some of this stuff yet. That's interesting.

You might want to add a spoiler warning to your post though, for anyone who doesn't want to know.

I don't mind spoilers either, but for those who do it might be a better idea to change the color of the text to match the color of the post box. Otherwise please refrain from posting spoilers from the leak directly on this thread.

Yeah, to be honest I wasn't happy to read that. I've been trying to avoid the spoilers like the plague, and that kinda ruined that plan. Fingers crossed I'll forget it before march.

Meh, no harm done in the main scheme of things though.

I always take the "spoilers" with a grain of salt - until the game is released, anything can happen. Until then, I keep everything crossed that my fave drell is back with a vengeance and in EVERY scene ALL the time. Ok, got a little crazy, but some more Thane time would be LOVELY.

I'm trying not to pay too much attention to the spoilers either. None of those sound very good anyway.

Wow thats really interesting!

I think they should put in Kolyat as a blood doner for Thane, as an option.
It wouldn't be a "maigical" cure either, so I think that fits the line perfectly.^_^

And also, has it even been confirmed that Thane and Kai Leng will have a "show down" that  a lot of people are talking about?

As far as I know it hasn't been confirmed. I just think people are talking about it because it's what some of us would like to see in ME3.

*Is awaiting the long anticipated Thane Vs Kai Leng banner* ;)

I would love to see it, but nothing has been confirmed. A Shepard and Kai showdown, but nothing about Thane. Also, just a friendly reminder to ensure that spoilers concerning the link are hidden with the grey text, or not typed in at all in the thread. :)

Also Kim, it is great to see you back and back on this thread :)

Kai Leng is a Cerberus assassin from the novel Retribution. And I think he's awesome.
(The link to the ME Wiki has no spoilers for ME3 at this time, just Retribution.)

As far as I know (I've not found all the spoilers yet), none of the things I've said about Thane and Kai Leng are in the game. I'd like to see it happen though.

OK then. I haven't read any of the ME books. Also, I have no idea where to get them in Australia.

I wrote nothing about struggle of Thane against Kai Leng. I have written about sequence of actions to protect Thane from Kai Leng.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Also, I will repeat that's just my interpretation of the context.

I got mine from Booktopia, an online bookstore based in Sydney. It took a couple of weeks because they have some of their books imported to order but they're very good and very cheap. I get a lot of books from them that I can't find in Dymocks or Angus and Robinson.

I don't really read the ME books. They never really interested me, but I guess maybe I should.
I also had no idea who Kai Leng was until someone one this board told me a few months ago.

Wasp, I was responding more to FallTooDovahkin. She mentioned about the Thane vs Kai Leng showdown, and I was just reiterating how awesome such a fight would be. I doubt it would happen in game, but I am anticipating fanfiction...

Also I highly recommend reading Drew's novels. It appears that there will be A LOT of references to the books in ME3. We already have characters from the books that are confirmed to be in ME3.

Kai Leng was originally an N7 Alliance marine lieutenant.
He was put in prison for 20 years due to a murder, and now he is a Cerberus Assassin who will be in Me3 , possibly trying to kill Shepard.

But we all want Thane to teach him a lesson for messing with his Siha.

You can read more about Kai Leng here:

Kai Leng, Mass Effect Wiki

You don't have to worry about Mass Effect 3 spoilers there also if your on spoiler watch.:police:

I think someone asked one of the devs either through twitter or their live "chats" during the cons, and the question pertained to a showdown between Kai Leng and Thane, and the dev responded that it would be "interesting". This was several months back and I don't remember where the source came from, so for all I know it is still in the rumor mill. I think Kai Leng vs Thane would be very emotionally intense, and it wouldn't be OOC for either of them...

I agree. I really enjoyed the novels, and there will be a new one coming out soon (next month, I think) which will probably lead up to ME3, as that's what they're doing with the latest comic series.

Actually, I wanted Kai Leng on my team before we found out that Cerberus is against us now... It's too bad that he's trying to kill Shep. Kai's one of my favorites. He has such a cool backstory, and it would have been great to have two assassins on our side.

I've read Revelation, Ascension, and Retribution.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Revelation was a pre-story, leading up to the events of Mass Effect, filling in more of the origins of some of the main characters of the franchise.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Ascension fell shortly after Mass Effect, opening up some more subplots within the story and adding more characters, including the biotic child prodigy, Gillian, and her father, Paul Grayson.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Retribution builds on the characters introduced in the previous books and video games (especially Paul Grayson, Kahlee Sanders, David Anderson, and Aria T'Loak) and introduces a few new ones too.                                                                        The book shows a lot of interesting into the Illusive Man, showing some of his true character the games only hint at.             This book is my favorite Mass Effect book, because I think it fuses with the game best.
