Retribution's been out for a while. Deception is the one that's coming out soon, on January 31st.mythlover20 wrote...
Funny, for some reason I thought Retribution wasn't out yet. Oh well.
Oh, and Happy New Year, everyone.
Revelation was my favorite, but that's probably obvious to anyone who's seen the cover. It has Saren.

Personally, I like the one on the left. No reason, I just like seeing Thane relaxed.
I highly doubt the world is going to end this year. That doesn't mean I'm not still going to go to/have an "End of the World" party. That way I can A) make fun of those who do, or

The theories of the world ending in 2012, Mayan Calendar predictions, Nostradamus prophecies, theories of Planet Alignment, Apocalypse, 2012 Doomsday and Planet Nibiru X have grown with a huge number of different speculations and assumptions with the main goal to bring fear-the fear of not knowing. Do you remember Y2K and the end of the world in the new millennium? Is it going to be the same type of scam since some people are just trying to make some money on the 2012 world ending theories by publishing books, making movies and websites. I think it's just a common human Nature. For most people to live full life they need to have 2 guidelines: first one is to have something positive, it is the place where they are going (goals, plans, purpose) and second guideline is negative, the one that they are afraid off and want to run away from. So in cases when there is no first guideline the second one, the one that brings the fear, unites people in the wave of mass hysteria. The prophecies of the end of the world on 21s December, 2012 as written in the Mayan Calendar were taken as this negative guideline. Oh, and my favorite the one on the left, too.mythlover20 wrote...

Either way, well, any excuse for a good time, right?

Here's a video with Thane to celebrate: Link
I personally think that end of the world theories are nothing but bull**** born from ingnorance.
Things don't "just end".
The end of the world has been foretold since humanity's dawn. People freak out every time we change of century or milenia, and some people go as far as commiting suicide, yet time and again the world keeps spinning on its center.
So I would like to know who was the smartass that decided Mayan culture was an authority in foretelling world's end, and them and only them will get it right.... as far as I'm concerned the Mayan calendar ends that day because they couldn't get a bigger stone, or like with computer's "2000 effect" they just didn't plan that far ahead.

I don't think Thane would go quite as overboard as my Shepards did in the Garrus thread (and the sad part is, only one of them had been drinking), but I could see him trying to talk in his normal intelligent, poetic way and messing it up every now and then. And having some weird moments with the drell flashbacks. xDTasha vas Nar Rayya wrote...

In other news, I just had an adventure with Thane. I was spacing out and failed to update him when we were following Kolyat's target causing me to fail his loyalty mission. I knew it was possible to not get his loyalty but I didn't expect that. I had to reload and do it again. Ahh, the difference in knowing and understanding. Then, when I was talking to him back on the Normandy after I completed the mission properly the game glitched mid-conversation.
The screen is froze on this:

Thane still blinks and every now and again Shepard's shadow will cross his face but I can't do anything. lol

At least you got a cool screenshot out of it, right? Whenever my games freeze up like that (although it never happened with ME2), I just pop the disk out or turn off the console and try again. Lucky for me, I save very often, so I haven't needed to replay too much.
I failed Thane's loyalty mission at least once because I always get lost in videogames. I totally lost track of the guy I was supposed to follow, time ran out, and then I got to watch a scene of Kolyat getting away with murder. But I reloaded and only got to see Thane's dialogue about it months later on youtube. He has some really great, emotional lines there. It makes me want to fail his mission with one or two Shepards. I'll just wait until ME3 and see if there are terrible consequences first... and if not, I'm sure I'll be able to fail without trying too hard.
And this is one of the reasons why assassins like Thane are so interesting to me. This is a normal skill he would need to have. It's such a hard job, and he does it well. Plus, the moves like ceiling drop + neck snap are awesome to watch.

Just a note, I had a similar semi-freeze glitch with Mordin, though on finishing/end of dialog. All I did when camera was stuck on their faces was save (not sure about quicksaving) then just loading that game which reset the camera...
