From me is Fenris, Liam Neeson, Thane and then Ezio Auditore probably. I must say BW is reaaaly good with finding good voiceactors. Except for Kaiden. What the heck happend there?

You should definitly watch GoT; I mean, the relationship between the barbarian king Khal Drogo, and the young, princess Daenerys is just..the best relationship ever. Imagine the young fragile girl taming a massiv heartless barbarian. He is..head over heels for her. THAT´S sexy! I was drooling all over the floor.

Hey I love Kaidan's voice. It's an acquired taste....or voice :P But I am a Kaidan lover so I guess loving the voice comes with the whole package. But I really like Thane's voice too it  makes me shiver but not as much as Fenris'. Fenris has the best voice ever thanks to Mr.Emery.

I love Game of Thrones too. I really liked Khal Drogo's voice when he did talk which was hardly ever. I always though Daenerys would hate him but boy was I wrong. They loved each other so much.

You're not the only one. I think Kaidan has a great voice. I think Garrus has a great voice too,  but I love Thane's. That's one thing Bioware did right. The have some wonderful voice actors in the game.

This was a commission Efleck did for me. She's a very talented artist.

In military jargon, she was MIA (missing in action). Under MIA goods and possessions can not be re-possessed until after 7 years.

Ah. I thought she had been declared dead. I mean, at least Joker saw her die, maybe a couple of others. Didn't they say in ME2 that Shepard had been declared dead? It's been a while since I played and I can't remember.

When Shepard first visits the citadel and enters customs, she tells the Turian C-Sec officer that she was MIA - Missing in Action.

MIA means that no body or dogtags were retrieved by the military. Indeed Liara has the full tags and gives them back to you in LOTSB.
To be KIA (killed in action) a body must be found/identified and tags retrieved. Alternatively KIA is declared after 7 years missing.

This assumes that the Alliance is using standard terms of course.

I know Shepard says she was listed as MIA, but Jacob says the alliance declared shepard dead. I can't really remember.

I think it would be perfect desert planet for Thane. No you can't take anyone there because it isn't even in ME2. I wish they would let us go there in ME3, but I doubt it.

It would be the perfect love pad, wouldn't it? They brought it up in general discussions a while back and no, we're not getting our appartment back in ME3. *sadface*

Now that's disappointing, but I'm not surprised. I didn't even like Pinnacle Station. I just wanted the apartment.

I didn't really think they would give it back to us. It's really to bad becauseit was a nice place, and would have been the perfect desert vacation for Shepard and Thane.

Well that is a bit sad...Image IPB what with Thane being the ME2 posterboy and real romance rather than coming over as a one nighter...I'd hoped for better treatment.
Then again after the DA2 Sebastian disappointment, I should know better...

I'll just have to fanfic it then.

Well, on the brightside if the apartment's not in ME3 I never have to play pinnacle station ever again... I only ever played it for the apartment with the faint hope that it would carry over as a holiday home for Shep and Thane

Hey now, there's nothing to say they won't get a desert vacation, just not one there apparently.
I always felt stuff like that was best left to the fans to create, but who knows, maybe it will be included!

Kaidan is very soft spoken, personally, I find that incredibly endearing. He's one of my favorites, as is Thane.
Fenris is... unfair. On top of (imho) being the most attractive guy in DA2, he's voiced by the fabulous Ser Emery, so really, did we ever stand a chance? xD

Hanar's right, we won't know until ME3. If anything though, the appartment makes for a great fanfic setting, it's too bad no one's expanded on it yet.

Everyone's talking about Game of Thrones, and I've never seen it except for commercials. It's on HBO (in the USA), right? I was too busy watching Boardwalk Empire to care about anything else. XD

And I see talk about when we first realized we were obsessed with Mass Effect? I think I've known for a long time, but it really became obvious when the Evolution comics were released. I needed to have them the day they came out, and if that meant calling up every comic book store and going to a town I've never been before to find one of them... well, it just had to be done. I did manage to get all four of them on release date.

Also, I've never played Pinnacle Station (because it's DLC), but it's cool that Shep's apartment is on a desert world. It does sound perfect for her and Thane, even if she has to deal with the Alliance/Reapers/whoever might be living there now if she was declared dead in order to get it back.

My Carson is so popular! :D But he does have a serious girlfriend (one of my FemSheps). Maybe we can clone him, and the sparkle shooter too. Yes, that'll work. The Reapers won't know what hit them.

Yeah, Fenris can be a bit annoying at times, though I do understand a little. But Ser Emery's voice. Totally swoon-inducing. Number Three on my all time favourite voices, behind Sir Sean Connery and Keythe Farley. Number four is the bloke who did Zevran, five is the bloke who did Garrus.

I believe his name is Brandon Keener? I used to see his name mentioned a lot on the Garrus thread. The Mass Effect voice acting is great in general, but my favorite would have to be Saren's VA.

I bought ME1 maybe 5-6 months after it had been out already. After that I hyped about ME2 for almost a year before the actual release. I recall it feeling so far away... I do recall running around in the house with my ME2 copy, being very hyper and clutching it to my chest, much to my parents' confusion, before installing it...

Now suddenly ME 3 comes out in 2 months, ending the whole series. It's kinda weird actually. o.o

Anyhow, I remember obsessing over Garrus too in ME1, realising he wasn't a LI really saddened me. And how I became very very interested in everything space related. I could literally stare up at the night sky and wonder if there really could be worlds like that, out there somewhere. I even brought up the relays theory to my dad (who's very scientific-ish), and yeah, I know that was probably being naive, but an interesting theory anyway. He shot it down quickly though. :P

Thane's not the first NPC I've certainly obsessed over. Everything was about him after I had played ME2. Didn't come as a surprise to me because I've crushed on a lot of game characters before that. Used to feel bad about it, now I don't care anymore, my business after all. :P

But the ME series did take a different turn after I saw Thane.

And seriously, this post became longer than I thought it would... and very... random.

Yeah, Saren is voiced beautifully. They all are. That's one thing we can't fault Bioware on. They really do have great voice actors. :)

Also, I really thought you would have done a dialogue to respond to that. I wanted to hear what Carson's LI would have said. ... Which of your Shepard's is his LI anyway? We haven't heard from her yet!

Clone the sparkle shooter. We'll storm the Bioware offices if they stuff things up. They'll have to fix things then!

Double post, sorry.

Yeah, three Carsons? Much as I'd love it, probably not the best idea. And his gf probably wouldn't appreciate it. I'd rather another Thane. A cured one if you don't mind.

@Nerana, yeah, I did the same thing with DA2 and most of my new books from my favourite authors. Good to know I'm not the only one doing the spaz dance! :)

I only bought ME1 a few months before ME2 was released, so this is the first time I've ever had to wait for a Mass Effect game. It's not as hard as I thought it would be, actually. But that's probably a combination of reading the spoilers and knowing that if I don't finish some stuff before I get the game, I'll finish it a lot slower after ME3 takes over my free time. There is still some suspence though. The spoilers I read were not complete for some characters, and I get the feeling Thane is one of them. What I've read has only made me more excited for ME3, and Thane's friendship with my MainShep, but as for the unknown... we shall see how it turns out.

Wow, I'm totally oblivious. I didn't even notice you posted right before my last post, and then I had to leave for a while. Sorry. xD Carson's girlfriend, an Earthborn he met during his gang days, is Jayne Shepard (and he makes jokes about her name sounding like "Jane Doe" to him).

Thane: I didn't know she was your girlfriend, Carson. ^^ So, you do have a heart after all.
Saren: Typical Carson. Don't expect him to be obvious about being in a relationship. He's worried that one of his enemies will try to kill her, even though she's a space badass now. I can't say that I blame him though. The galaxy does have a habit of trying to kill anyone he cares about.
Thane: Is that why he looked so sad when I told him about my loyalty mission? Poor Carson. I had no idea...
Carson: Hey, I can hear you talking about me! >_>
Jayne: *hugs Carson* Aww, you should tell Thane a little about yourself. I've been talking with him and Nat. He's a nice guy. Plus, you've practically interrogated every crew member to find out about their past...
Carson: You can't blame me for that. The game doesn't have a "talk about yourself" option!
Thane: It's kind of sweet that he has a secret girlfriend. But what does she think when all these women are interested?
Jayne: I'm not the jealous type. I mean, who wouldn't be interested? He's so cuuuute.
Carson: Nah, cut it out, Jayne. ^///^;
Natalie: I know, we should double date! Me and Thane, and you and Jayne!
Thane: That's a good idea, Siha. It would give us all a chance to get to know each other--
Carson & Jayne: MAKO BUMPER CARS!
Thane: No, bad idea. Very bad idea. o_o Is it too late to cancel?

This one of the things that always bothered me about ME2. The game contradicts itself about Shepard's death or is stupidily vague about it... they should have come up with something better to put Shepard under Ceberus <_<

Also I don't understand the whole dogtags thing...soldiers wear their dogtags always, don't they? so if Liara is the one to recover your corpse, how come she didn't have them? How Hackett got them in the first place?
The only think I can think of, is that those dogtags aren't the ones that Shepard was wearing when s/he died, but new ones Hackett got made?

It also bothers that the Alliance abandoned the remains of their most advanced spaceship in a planet where anyone could have looted it.... :pinched:

Man, I was trying to write some fanfic but this whole nonesense makes it hard to come up with something believable :(

I know, it's so confusing. I always thought it would make more sense if Liara had the dog tags originally, since she was the one who found Shepard's body in Redemption. For Hackett to have them... that would mean the Alliance had actually found Shepard, or at least the Normandy's wreckage (assuming that with the mess Shep was in, the dog tags might have came off), and did nothing about it. Unless I'm completely missing something.

My husband is in the Air Force and they only wear their dogtags if they deploy. Other than they he doesn't wear them, and he doesn't keep them. One thing that made no sense to me is if your Sheprad is a spacer why Liara still has your dogtags. They aren't a tropy. They should have gone to Shepard's mother.

Liara states that Hackett got a hold of them, but that they had passed through many hands before his. (They probably got pawned or auctioned off by a merc/looter/Shadow Broker at some point.)

+ Liara doesn't mention Hackett if she's romanced, which probably means that she kept them as a memento in that circumstance, but didn't bother to look for/keep them otherwise.

It still doesn't explain why Hackett gave them to Liara to give to Shepard though. It would only make sense if he'd found the tags after Shep resurfaced, which is possible, I suppose.

Deploy means going into military action? ( I'm not english native speaker  )

That makes sense, but I consider that Shepard was deployed?  at the time, taking out the remaining Geth... so she should be wearing them. Or at least have them with her in the Normandy?

And I agree, if spacer, the tags should have gone to Shepard's mother.... I wonder what Bioware has in mind for spacers in ME3. Will mommy be on Earth to see the trial?

As I think about all this... Liara is so obsessed about losing Shepard ( specially if not romanced ) that it's creppy... but I find it funny that if you romance Thane, she says that line about

Liara: "You are going trough the same as an Asari with a shorter lived spouse"
Shepard: ...And you tell me this with a straight face because you are the perfect example of how to grieve over the dead?

Absolutely. Bioware totally missed a fantastic opportunity to finally feature a zombie protagonist in a triple-A title. Let's give the undead demographic some love and exposure for once!

Shepard could be cosidered on deployment because they were on a mission.  Honestly I don't know how Hackett got those dogtags first. The only way is if Sheard didn't have them with her or the Alliance somehow got them first.

I really don't think Bioware thought that through. Liara does come across as obsessed. First the damaged armor that Shepard was killed in, and now dogtags.  Unless she is your LI I really don' t see a reason for her to have them. It comes across as a little odd.

I know Liara was only trying to help when she makes that statment but there really isn't any comparison. Asari will at least get at lest a few decades with their spouse while Shepard gets only a few months. For me it's not the same.

I don't think anyone was really happy with the resurrection thing. It was just silly to me. The could have come up with something better than that.

I guess we will have to live with it, since I doubt the whole resurrection thing is going to be addressed at all in ME3

Is it Mars yet? no? :(
