Anyone ever get the Kermit the Frog "It's not easy being green." song playing in their head when you see Thane cry?

This is for Tasha and the rest of the thread. I used a pic from 51ha's glorious collection. I hope she doesn't mind. :D

That's all I'll be able to see next time I play through that! Add the fact that I'm determined to keep Thane in his AAP outfit this time around...I'm not sure I'll make it.

Love the motivationals too! I need to come around this thread more often!

I think Thane is high enough on the list. He's not the highest, but he is somewhere in the middle.

I'm always looking for good Thane fanfic myself. I guess I'm not to surprised by the lack of fanfic. There really isn't anything new to write about, and from what I've heard from some people Thane is really difficult to write. Maybe when we hear something about him in ME3 you will see the fanfic pick up again.

:P I find him surprisingly easy to write, but for reasons I will not elaborate on other than to say some fans killed the fandom for me for a very long time, I abandoned my only Thanefic. This is, in fact, the first time I've entered and contributed to a Thane-centric thread in a very long time.

I'm not really surprised at the lack of fics, though, just disappointed. There for a while there were quite a few, all very good, now I think the only one I've read of late that was kept up on regularity was For Such Loss, Abundant Recompense and it's sister-fic At the Violet Hour, both of which are amazing. Whoever authors those is great. :D

I've never found Thane particularly difficult to write either, to be honest.

When I first got into it, I basically drilled my way through the fanfiction.net archives. A lot of good stories but eh. I thought about putting mine up, but I'm not sure it's worth it at this point.

You know, making Thane motivational posters is fun. Anyone else have a fun catch phrase that can be made into a motivational poster? Hmm? Anyone?

I really loved For Such Loss, Abundant Recompense. It's one of my favorites. I just started reading the second one. I'm enjoying it so far.

I am Commander Shepard, and this is my favourite motivational on the Internet! Posted Image

As for more motivational phrases concerning Thane, I very much agree!

Agreed with this. He's not the easiest character to write, but I wouldn't say that he's difficult. However, I prefer to play him off of other people; i.e. Kolyat rather than Shepard. And I write primarily one-shots. So I'm sure that plays a part.

And you should put it up, Valentina! There aren't enough stories in general, let alone good ones. And I know I for one would read it in a heartbeat.

There aren't many Thane fanfics at the moment, you're right. I am working on one at the moment, but working full time tends to get in the way of the fun things in life >.>

I think also, not many new ones are coming out now because people are waiting for ME3 to come out.

^^You're probably right. The fandom in itself seems to have slowed a little; I frequented the KM for months, and it just sort of...stopped. Everyone defecting to DA2 may have contributed though :P

I know my personal life has gotten in the way of my writings. And the only piece I'm working on is more Garrus+Shepard friendship than anything to do with Thane. I'm hesitant to write about him since we haven't gotten any information yet about ME3. I don't want to say 'okay he got a lung transplant before ME3' and then be proven wrong two days later.

Well...I could, but I have no ideas anyway. So that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Thane Krios

 Manslayer                                                                 Assassin

http://t1.gstatic.co...fdgtSbXIM9XV4lc                http://t3.gstatic.co...70aafOlKisYerGA

Bruce Wayne: You have to know your enemy, Alfred. I'd never use one, but even I can appreciate the attraction of a gun. The heft. The sleekness. The cool steel. The precision. And the power. The powerto change lives, history. The power of God. Batman Gotham Knights : Villian : Deadshot an Assassin

Ever since I saw Oliver Stone's "JKF: as a kid, I have hated them. An assassin is so similar to a prostitute in some ways : that i thought it a stroke of genius when  Hitman came out starring Timothy Olyphant  and Olga Kurylenko on account of how they brought people from these two professions together.

An assasssin is akin to a prostitute in that an assassin kills not in self defense or to avenge a loved one, but for nothing higher than monetary gain.

A prostitue has sex with someone, not b/c he or she fancy's them or is in love,  lust doesn't even have anything to do with it.Once again monetary gain is the motivating force for them.

An assassin is a person who has a complete and utter absense of social responsibilty...They care not, for what ramifications may come as a result of thier actions. I can understand Jacob's contempt for Thane in Mass Effect 2 completely. But I do not hold Mr.Krios in contempt myself...:police: You see a couple of years ago I was watching this Charlton Heston movie Khartoum : I had a change of heart about assassination during General Charles "Chinese" Gordon conversation with Mohammed Ahmed el Mahdi, "the Expected One," the head of the Muslim forces.

He spoke to Gordon of his ambitions and after hearing them and seeing how much conviction the madman had, along with his abilty to rally others to his warped and misguided endeavors.Having him neutralized with lethal force was the first thing that came to my mind. And I believe that it would have been the right course of action in this case. And I have never thought something like that in my life..

As Batman said in Superman Batman : Public Enemies, " In times of war, circumstances dictate actions."

One of the things that I would like to see with Thane in Mass Effect 3 is Commander Shepard having the option at times to ask Thane to assassinate someone for the cause.Like that Alliance douchebag who tried to abduct Shepard and detain him or her for six or more months but Admiral Hackett refused to let him. ( Shadow Broker Intel ) When I read that transcript it really pissed me off !! Councilor or Ambassador Udina may need to be taken out of play as well  :P

That may sound harsh but personally I take that vow that soldiers take, " To defend thier nation from all threats foreign and domestic " seriously. A perfect example of someone who failed to do this comes from Orlando Bloom's character " Balian de Ibelan " of  Kingdom of Heaven. Eva Green " Sibylla " Jeremey Irons " Tiberias "
sought to convince him that the acting King needed to be dethroned before he brought about the end of thier reign in Jerusalem. But he would hear none of it, for he shared King David's view, " Touch not the Lord's annoited." But b/c he refused to heed their words, the doom and gloom that they saw on the horizon eventually came to pass. And till this day, I personally still hold Balian accountable for the calamaty. His inaction lost them and cost them The Holy City of God : Jerusalem..

These covert missions of Thane Krios will let you actually control the character, akin to Joker's playable character moment in ME2.I like Thane. I like the way that he carries himself. I like how unapoIogetic he is about his profession and work ethic. He's way cooler than " Crying Freeman "  ^_^ He is spiritual, intellectual , athletic, stylish and deadly... Of all those who appear in cut scences,Thane usually has the best footage. From his scences in the Mass Effect 2 Cinematic Trailer to The Shadow Broker Feed on him walking and killing a person while moving through the shadows  and his Fight For The Lost Vid is my favorite  of them all, Jack's is my runner up...

So, funny thing. I began replaying Jade Empire recently. Haven't touched it for a few years. And...

Take a look. Hint, note the pose.

Sagacious Zu. (Ex) Lotus Assassin.

I know Bioware reuses some animations across games when appropriate, but that one made me do a double take, haha. There aren't a whole lot of similarities between Thane and Zu, but there are a few. And all my poor Spirit Monks end up heartbroken :P. I do hope that Thane doesn't follow Zu's story arc conclusion. Though, I'll admit it wouldn't lack in epicness...

@Reiha

Hehe, I also got to play Jade Empire about a year ago or so. And Bioware not only reuses  animations... I came across a bit of dialog you can have with Sky, if you are flirting with him, that is pretty similar to the "infamous" converstion with Thane about "...taste of tongues in your mouth" and "too much information"
Very funny.

On another note. I just found this and had to share:

Also.... It is just me, or in that pic Thane's crotch looks like a smiling face? :innocent:

It's been a long time since I played Jade Empire. That was the first Bioware game I ever played.

Just a few pictures because it't Thane and because I get tired of reading the same thing about why Thane should die,or how if he is cured it will ruin his romance. First it was going to ruin his character. Now it will ruin the romance. This coming from people who have never even done the romance or really even like the character. I really have no idea why they care one way or the other.

Sorry about that.

The miniThane next to the mug above. The author drew Thane's suit pattern in a way that looks like a smiling face.... at least to me! LOL

I guess the person who drew the pattern had no idea where our minds would go. Then again, maybe they did know.
