I doubt he gets a replacement but I feel its likely Kolyat and Shepard might get some unique dialogue. I imagine it would be extremely depressing though, poor kid just starting to understand his dad and he's gone.Tazzmission wrote...
you know i wonder something. if thane died in me2 would someone like kolyat or even ferron replace his spot in me3?

Anywho! I was lurking and earlier some of you were talking about playing on the PS3 and being the "Ultimate Drell Team", I play on the PS3 so may I join the team? (; We can all talk about our obsession with Thane over Thane cookies and green ice cream! xD

PURPLE! "tacklehug* Welcome back. We missed you!
Dont' worry, I do it too. In fact: I signed up for Quantas Frequent Flyer Points over the net, and immediately forgot my user id and password when i went to log in like 30 seconds later.
Yeah! PM Friera and me your PSN ID and/or facebook and we'll add you!
Yay, the UDT is filling up! We must all rush out and buy headsets so we can talk to each other, and yell at the person (will probably be me) who keeps getting killed and we can revel in our glorious ineptitude together over said thane cookies and green tea ice cream!

On another note: I was just out to lunch with... a certain someone, and I suddendly found ourselves doing this:![]()
google image search result, don't know who it belongs to.
Needless
to say that as soon as I realised it I started smiling and chuckling to
myself, earning not a few wtf looks from him. Oh, the pitfalls of
seeing a non-gamer. [smilie]../../../../images/forum/emoticons/pinched.png[/smilie]
that is my picture of Thane and my first version of Penny. lol I'm actually playing my third version of her right now.
*snip* *snip*
as for Thane pictures here are a couple I took the other night:
That's yours Verly? I hope you don't mind me using it, but you know, that was the only screenie of that scene that I found! i'm going to have to get some screenies of that when I finially get around to playing it on my pc, but I'm still setting up my PS3 PTs for ME3.
And I love those other screenies of Thane. So beautiful! *stares happily at Thane*
And no, I don't think one of the other drell would replace Thane if he died in the SM. At least not permanently, but you never know. And I too would like to see some dialogue between Kolyat and Shepard regarding his death. In fact, I think that Kolyat would replace Thane, if he is replaced at all. Not in the same capacity, obviously, and I feel that it would be only temporary, but I feel that he would be there for a little bit at least.

I won't be playing Penny for a while because I have a couple more Femsheps I want to get through ME1 first.

I'm stuck with a single save file I've gotten from a website and has a name that doesn't fit my Shepards at all. But rather that than playing ME 1... dunno why but that game pains me to play. Maybe I've overplayed it, or the combat is just.. eh.. not to say the darn Mako driving (even if it is ten times easier on the PC)
Or maybe it's because it doesn't have a Thane.

Kolyat would not be a good choice in my opinion. Thane's loylaty mission proved that. How could he fight the reapers when he couldn't even pull off an assassination. He can't take a punch. If you shoot him he just falls over, and he seems almost scared when Shepard kills Talid. He aslos doesn't have the years of training his father had. Unless he has picked up some skills between ME2 and ME3 he doesn't have what it takes to be on Shepards team. Also Thane wouldn't want it.
Feron I'm not so sure about. I didn't read the comic so I don't know if he has what it takes to be on Shepards team.
Luckily I don't have to worry about that because Thane didn't die in any of my playthroughs

You can change the name if you don't like it. I hated the names they had so I changed them.
I couldn't play ME1 anymore. I played it so much when it came out that I'm just bored with it, so I took some saved files from one of the websites.

It's annoying that ME1 have that effect on me and several others apparantly. It's a great game though. I usually just keep a list on my Shepards real names/backgrounds whatever and read up on the wikia to make it a full character. >.>

I've heard there's a way to change the names but I never understood the method. Maybe they've changed it now. Now that the save site is up again I'll look around for the hows and more saves. I want one to be faithful to Kaidan as well so.

What site did you go too?
I think there were two ways. The way that I did it was pretty easy.
ME1 was a great game and I loved it, but if I play a game more than once I have a hard time going back and playing it again. Going back and playing ME1 now would just feel like a chore.

My brother always says that ME1 was the superior game because it had a better storyline and was more of an RPG. I've only played a bit of the first one and I couldn't get used to it because I started to play it after ME2. Of course, I played ME2 on the PS3 and I started playing ME1 on the 360 so I wasn't used to the controller xD

ME1's story was better than ME2 but the combat system was pretty bad. I couldn't play biotic there after I had tried it in ME2. Characters in rpg games also makes a bit thing for me and ME2 simply had more interesting ones. I love the diversity.
So I enjoyed ME2 more than ME1.
Partly because of Thane to keep this somewhat thread related. xD
All my opinion of course, everyone thinks different when it comes to this.

I did forget about that, but I don't think any of your squad does. I heard that Tali and Garrus don't get a replacement if they die during the SM. You will just be short two squade members.

Oh but of course, we can't forget about Thane! xD
Anyway, what you said made sense, I couldn't get used to the combat. I agree with you about the diversity of the characters in ME2. All of them had such different back stories that I loved learning about.

I went there too. You couldn't change it in Gibbed?
I did like the story better for ME1,but I think I like the characters better in ME2. Unfortunalty we aren't getting any of those characters back on our team. I guess Bioware just decided to give us back our old team.

But the characters in both games seemed quite interesting. No doubt, ME2's characters were a bit more interesting because there were more squad members with individual personalities.

Finished one of my playthroughs -like completely- all planets checked. Thane is still pissed at his "Siha" for not taking him with her during arrival. I can imagine him feeling so protective of her and just freaking out (in a composed way) when she dissappears for two days.

That's why Thane asking Shepard "how are you feeling?" in the latest convo completely caught me off guard. None really asks about her wellbeing in the games. xD

Now let's see...some of this will be from a few pages back.
I play on the Xbox 360 as well, and am in for mulitplayer! Gamertag is the same as profile name.
@coldwetN0se - I believe I know the video to which you're referring in the LoTSB - I thought it was Omega as well.
Regarding Shepard's need for an assassin - considering Thane would be incredibly quiet and stealthy, I think it makes perfect sense. And he's deadly with a sniper rifle. That means taking out targets from a distance, which I would think would be incredibly beneficial no matter who your enemy. I agree that he would be very adept in hand to hand combat as well, although I think the stealth factor makes him deadly - hard to fight back if you never hear/see him coming.
I doubt that either Kolyat or Feron would replace Thane in ME3 if he died in SM, but I think that perhaps you would "run into" them somewhere, for a quick dialogue. Sort of like anyone you came across in ME2 from ME1.
@Nerana - the reason you can't get into ME1 is the mako!! The mako and all that stupid driving around is the reason I have 2 PTs on ME1 and 7 on ME2! I tried to start ME1 again, but it's just too painful. And the gameplay is cumbersome.
Only 36 days to go!!!

*claps hands over mouth* Sorry, sometimes that just gets away from me.
I'd do another playthrough for him, but I have several others I must get to. Not to mention all my maybe Shepards, the ones hoping for romances that might not happen, (Samara) or ones I'm interested in but not to a marked degree (a loyal Liara, loyal Kaidan....)
