I don't have problems navigating the mako, but the driving around is very boring. lol

not Thane related because I am in ME1 at the moment, but my game glitched and my mako was flipping over and over in the air. lol I even caught a few pictures of it:

I thought it was pretty funny. but to be on topic:

I wasn't crazy about the mako, but I really don't like the hammerhead.

I have about two or three more playthroughs myself. I have to finish LotSB and Arrival for my current playthrough. Then I have to do my loyal to Kaidan and then another Thane playthrough. Maybe one more were I don't romance anyone for Vega. I'm still not sure about him though.

I must be some sort of demented creature from beyond the veil of time and space because I actually liked the Mako.

It broke up the shooting sessions of aiming at specks on the horizon and holding down a button until they fell down! Yeah it needed some work- I got stuck on some Geth spikes a few times and the controls needed to be fine-tuned but overall it was fun getting knocked around by Thresher Maws and traversing the rough terrain of the planets.

And instead of fixing it, they took it out entirely... only to later replace it with the hammerhead. The hammerhead sections in the Firewalker pack were a lot of fun for me again because I could do a mission or two in between other missions to break up the go-down-that-corridor-kill-everything-then-go-do-it-again progression of the story, but I kinda wished it could actually fly.

It was basically the Mako with a really good jump button. Or like Keira's zoomer from the first Jak and Daxter. Man, that thing sucked!

I'm with you on that one! Maybe I was just shocking at controlling the hammerhead but I could never destroy any of those rocket things without the hammerhead blowing up. I didn't hate the hammerhead but I cringe every time I play Overlord.

Anyway! Unfortunately I've got to redo my canon Shepard because I made heaps of mistakes in her playthrough but that doesn't really bother me because I get to romance Thane again. xD I've finished my Shepard who romanced Garrus and I've basically  finished my loyal to Kaidan Shepard but I have to finish LotSB. I was thinking of doing a playthrough where I romance Liara or as JECWSU said, have a Shepard who doesn't romance anyone for Vega. Maybe both. I'm not sure yet.

That's one of the reasons I have a hard time with Overlord. It took me a while before I could destroy those rockets without blowing up, and I hate trying to get across that lava. I just finished LotSB on my current playthrough now I have to finish Arrival.

Those are great action shots of the Mako, Verly. Also, I have to ask, is your FemShep wearing a red version of the dress from Kasumi's loyalty mission in that screenshot a few pages back? That's so cool.

I'm not too bad at driving the Mako after several playthroughs because I've started learning how to maneuver it better, but still... the mountains. Maybe I should just try going around them sometimes. Although, my roleplaying for Shepard is so strict that I simply must make a lot of them try in vain to climb the mountains, and if they do manage to make it to the top, jump right off on the other side. (That's Carson for you. He's my daredevil. Great driver, but crazy.) I've never tried the Hammerhead for comparison because, of course, it's only available through DLC. The youtube videos are hilarious when it talks though.

Now, to answer the other questions from a few pages ago - I don't think anyone will replace Thane, but I do wonder how differently certain spoiler events would play out without him, and I don't have a favorite between ME1 and ME2. In my opinion, ME2 has much better squadmates and romance options, a better employer (TIM) and combat system, but at the same time, ME1 has Saren. That gives the game a lot of extra points by default. Also, Sovereign. He/It did a better job of scaring my Shepards than Harbinger (who mostly annoyed them) did.

Harbinger: *shoots Carson* I know you feel this.
Carson: You know what? I'm just going to do it - throw caution to the wind, charge across that crowded battlefield, and punch that Collector puppet so hard that the Reaper will feel it too. Who's with me?
Thane: I'll stay here, behind cover... with the other sane members of our team. And snipe anything that gets too close to you when you're charging around like a madman out there.
Carson: Who are these "sane" team members you speak of? Oh well, sounds like a plan. ;)

That's got to be one of the best mods I've ever seen. :D Yay, variety! I saved the link for future reference when I get a gaming PC.

hey guys,
Thane fan here. I don't have any ME2 DLC yet. If I could ask, which one would you definitely recommend to get (Thane-wise and upcoming ME3 wise). Thanks

I would recommend getting all DLC if possible. Except the gun/appearance packs only get those if you really want to. The most important DLC for ME3 are probably, Overlord, Lair of the Shadow Broker, and Arrival.Image IPB

Lair of the shadow broker has some stuff about Thane (and all the other's on Shep's team) after you complete it. there are files you can look through and videos you can watch. the letter for Shep still makes me cry.

If you can only do one, I'd recommend Lair of the Shadow Broker.  It's great, pretty long for a DLC and has a great Thane bonus in his dossier after the SM if you romanced him!

It was the one I purchased first and the I broke down and bought the rest

Lair of the Shadow Broker has some pretty good information on Thane.  Out of all the ME2 DLC's it's probably the best one.

I just read Thane's letter for the first time on LotSB and my heart practically broke with love for Thane. I almost cried. I would have totally cried if I hadn't controlled myself.

Thane better be cured in ME3!! If not, then I'm really, really going to cry for reals.

*snip smiling Thane*
Yes.

I hope there's at least some way to get something of a happy ending for Thane in ME3.  I want to take him and Kolyat to that desert, darn it.

Pft. You know how we said Thane was probably the only party member who could beat Shepard in a physical fight?

Well...

Looks like Vega can too. As such, I have concluded that Shepard's not nearly as good of a CQC combatant as we all thought.

That might be a bit permature of a statement. For all we know Shepard may be taking the hits to keep the conversation rolling and Vega invested, I would not be surprised if they deck Vega handily after the ever so overused "I should go". =]Honestly, I wouldn't even assume Thane could beat Shepard in a straight up fight. He's trained to assasinate not for prolonged fighting. Then again though, double the muscles density of a human is a very large advantage. Not sure tbh.

Were they suppose to be serious? I thought it was just friendly sparring while having a conversation.

@Verly, Cosmochyck, and JECWSU. Sorry I've missed your replies last night. Thank you all. Will buy Lair of the Shadow Broker first. Should I play it after or before the Suicide Mission?
