Were they suppose to be serious? I thought it was just friendly sparring while having a conversation.

Originally that appeared to be the case but the recent trailer actually showed them bleeding a bit (nose and mouth I think) which, to be honest, makes a lot of sense. You're not really training in bare fist boxing unless someones taking a hit or two.

@QuinP2P I also reccomend Shadow Broker, best dlc for pretty much everyone (depending on your reception off the dlc squaddies). The extra Thane information is certainly the iciing on the cake too. :D

Is it better to play it before the romance scene (suicide mission) or after? (no spoilers please)

I'd say after. I save that dlc to after the suicide mission anyway.

I usually do it after.

I just saw the trailer. At first it did look friendly, but I guess it didn't end that way. Shepard has a bloody nose and bloody knuckles. I think Vega had some bruises as well.

Hi all, new to the forums but I've been following this thread for a while now . Like you all I adore Thane and his sexiness, and I've found a picture online that highlights some amazing features of him that I've actually never noticed before. ;)

Hey guys, just in case you're interested, the ME3 voice cast has been revealed and there's a video on youtube if anyone would like to check it out. (:
It's mainly returning cast but there's a few new voice actors in there.

Ever since I got massively spoiled by another thread title on these boards, I don't dare entering any page or even youtube regarding ME 3 stuff. I barely dare to stay in this thread. xD

Only spoilers I'm kinda interested in is whether Thane dies or not. >.> (And I doubt anyone will know that before the game comes out) I prefer being prepared in these cases...

Yeah, I like to be prepared for character deaths too. But the spoilers I saw were incomplete, so there's no way to know for sure how many variations there are until I have the strategy guide in my hands on release date.

[SPOILERS]
It is one of the possible outcomes though.

[ SARENS SPOILERS]

From what I saw (I tried to avoid info and got blindsided), it was a very good way to go (assuming it was final). Hopefully it isn't set in stone but to be honest I'd feel more cheated if it wasn't a possible outcome. Making us work and really go out of our way and make sacrifices to keep him alive would be a lot more satisfying then just having a cure pegged at us halfway through the plot.

I agree, I thought it was very well done and it was great to see variations in dialogue like that. There was a perfect choice there for my MainShep (if that ends up being the only outcome), a really beautiful dialogue for Shepards who are close friends of Thane.

I also enjoyed reading "SARENS SPOILERS", as if there would be spoilers for him in ME3. :D I wish.

I hope the game states (unloyal, loyal, and loyal/romanced) can play a part in what happens to Thane.

I'd be disappointed if all of Thane's endings came down to only slight differences in dialogue and locale for basically the same outcome.

Meh... I want the game now. xD I'm hoping Bioware will pull it off.

But darn, I'm going to get angry if there's only death for Thane or for... any companion really. I wouldn't really call it a good rp game if there's no chance to save whoever's in the risk of dying.

Or at least give us open options so that even if he isn't cured or whatever in ME3, people can at least pretend that "oh, he was cured after ME3 took place." None can really argue with that (Except the people that demand Thane's death cause it'd make it a good game)

I don't normally mind mandatory deaths if they do the character justice and advance the plot but they are somewhat lame in a game like Mass Effect that prides itself on choice. However, painful choices are very suited to potential character death (Virmire is the perfect example) and I actually hope there are a few of them. Obviously I'll be devastated if Thane dies but I'll accept it, assuming he's not the only one in the line of fire.

Certain (blue) characters need to lose their plot armour....

@Saren: I never got to know Saren, owning a Ps3 and all (and thus only playing ME2) but from what I've heard he was quite a badass. I'm kindoff hoping he has some kind of reference to him in the finality of things (every other major villain is still on the playing field after all). Perhaps a role in a flashback or maybe a hallucination. etc. Kindoff getting offtopic now though. :innocent:

Good morning, and welcome IrisHope! And that Thane pic... I'm pretty sure I drooled a little there, lol. =]

I just saw the VA vid on utube and I don't think it's a spoiler to say... Thane wasn't in it. :crying:

We DID however, get a few seconds of FEMSHEP!!!!

Granted, it's not Thane, but I'll take my victories where and when I can.

And I have to say Saren, those hints at the spoilers are making me a little more at ease regarding Thane. I want to CHOOSE whether or not to save him, and/or HOW to save him. (Obviously I'm going to, anyway, but I want to explore how to do it)! And your spoilers suggest that is what I'm going to get. That makes me happy. And sleepy. But mostly happy. :)

Meh, I'm tired. Just got home from class. I'll post something articulate after I sleep.

I think a lot of our old companion choices are going to come down to Save: Group of innocent civilians or Squaddie with them telling you to save the people. Very Fable-esque.

I agree wholeheartedly!

As for Thane and no VA in the vid, Mark Meer wasn't there either, and he's MaleShep!  We already know Mr. Farley is reprising his role, so I'm not worried about it.  I am hoping for lots of Thane screentime though.

@myth- I'm with you on the CHOICE - it's all I ask.  No mandatory death.

And as an aside, I want a lot more dialogue with all my squaddies/shipmates!  If you didn't romance them, it was pretty pathetic.  Garrus should have been a total bro for my Shep, but he was calibrating all the time because she didn't romance him Image IPB

I know, Cosmo. It was terrible! Just the same line over and over. I definitely agree and I hope there is far more dialogue in ME3.

And you know what, I want some dialogue with Kolyat, without Thane around. Probably won't happen, but it would have been a good way for Shep to help square her relationship with his father with him.

I'm going to be in Japan on the 14th. :crying:
I know thats a really retarded thing to get upset about (Man I hate going on holidays! ) but it means I miss the ME3 demo which is quite lame. Still can't believe they delayed it that late.

On-topic: Favourite Thane comic, apologies if its been put up before.

I'm looking forward to the demo, and seeing what the new femShep looks like.
Probably won't see Thane, but I guess will have to wait for the game to find out what happens to him.

I have a question for those who where fan of ME1 from the start. When Thane was first introduced, did you consider him cool/awesome/hot etc at that time, or did he grew on you during the game?

I played ME2 first in november.. do, yeah. I never got through the "anticipating and waiting impatiantly for ME2" like I do for ME3.
Quite funny. One of the reason I wasn´t particulary interested in the ME series in the first place was bcause of the aliens. In the end it is the aliens that rocks! And ME series is the best-ever! Thank god for boredom that made me buy ME2 :D
