I have a feeling Thane will die, but still, i did like him as a character.
It's undoubtedly going to be one thing that can happen to Thane but hopefully not the only thing.

I doubt it will be the only option. Really I do. But I'm not too sure any of the options are going to have the weight and severity that they should.
I completely agree. I've tried to stay hopeful, I really have, but since Bioware hasn't given us anything on Thane..well, it's starting to get hard to remain hopeful. I'm hoping that Bioware isn't revealing anything on Thane because they have something great in store for him but that's probably just wishful thinking at best. Now I sound like a pessimist. Oh well, I've got the demo to keep me happy. Can't wait to play that tomorrow, it should boost my happiness a little.
I wish I had a Thane plushie. ):

I completely agree with everything said. I don't have any faith in Bioware left. All we can do is wait and see. I'm a little nervous about the game.
If you want a plushie Hanar might make you one if she's not to busy. She did for me, and now I'm going to go and hug my Thane plushie.

You're right, all we can do is wait and see.
I'm also a little nervous about the game solely because I'm worried about what they've done with Thane. I know that there will be great stories for some of the characters (such as Garrus) which I'm extremely pleased about (I love Garrus) but I really hope that Thane gets treated well. If not, I will be one angry fangirl.

As a side note, I do not feel sympathy for the writers if they "wrote" themselves into a corner either. They should have an "exit" plan that makes sense. And I agree with everyone that BW is not good at death. I'm pretty sure Shep could die in the SM and the remaining team/crew would just head down to the mess hall for supper.
I'm finishin up my loyal Kaidan PT and it is SO HARD not to wander into Life Support and get sucked in. My hubby even rolled his eyes at my weakness for Thane last night.
Mr Krios is sorely lacking on this page so here's some fave drell for everyone!

Tali fans created such a commotion that she ended up with a much larger part in ME3 than the writers had intended.
What?
Now if Thane DOES get the short stick, I'll be even more angry about it if fans of another character managed to do *that*! D:
As in fact that's not a way to treat any character, faving some over others. I know there's time issues and space issues and all that so naturally they can't give everyone an equally good role but.... MRGH!
I'm glad I'm not a game designer. >.> I wouldn't be able to handle the pressure.

And he has the best romance scene - it is so great when he confesses he's frightend of death and starts crying. That's really touchy.KriosLove wrote...
The amount of love I have for Thane is unreal! He has the best enterance, the best loyalty mission and by far the best conversation options in the whole of ME2, he is sexy and cute at the same time, a bad ass and a soft ass at the same time.
Same here. The thought of him dying in mE3 actually brings tears to my eyes, I would be seriously, seriously angry, he's just..amazing!
I really hope, we will see our favorite Drell in the announced trailer.

I'm so with you there.
If a writer is telling a story, the onus is on them to write themselves out of whatever corner they put themselves in. That didn't happen during that "mission" where Shepard plus all the other fighters got on the shuttle to nowhere so the Normandy would be helpless when the collectors attacked after installing the IFF...
And it doesn't seem like they did their job when it came to ME2 characters, either. One of the most fun things about ME1 and 2 was choosing who the heck I take to battle with me, then chatting with squadmates after every mission. But no ME2 squadmates save for a single mission? Not even LI's? If there's only a single mission and its immediate aftermath in which SHepard can talk to them, that makes the characters static. If they're not with Shepard they can't comment on current development in the galactic war, on how stupid the council is being, how insane it is that people aren't cooperating at a time like this... all that, gone.
A staple of the series was having the ability to choose from a cast of characters, because their individual personalities came out during missions and squad dialogue. It was fun to mix and match, to take Samara and Jack to Illium just to see what they said to each other...
What on (name planet) is Wrex and Liara on the squad for, even temporarily? They're both hugely important people, Liara as Shadow Broker and Wrex to the Krogan and if either of them dies, things go downhill pretty fast. And so far as ME2 exclusives go, people have said time and time again that several of the ME2 LI's are to be criticised for having little connection to the Reaper plot or any larger responsibilities. They got responsibilities right quick, didn't they?
And with Thane in particular...

Multiplayer hasn't been unlocked yet. I'm assuming that will happen tomorrow when everyone can start downloading the demo. I'm curious to try it out as a Drell (Thane's long lost twin).
The demo made me feel a bit nostalgic but I still missed Thane. I already know it won't be the same without him on the squad. :/

There's another trailer coming out. I didn't know that.
Hopefully there will be something of Thane in it. Even if it's just a small glimpse I would be happy. Thane is the only one who hasn't been seen or talked about yet.

I felt the same way about that "mission". There wasn't one prior mission where EVERY team member was herded onto the shuttle, and all of a sudden we're all going? And we don't even know WHERE we're going? Epic fail.
I'm raging with you. And even though there is apparently another trailer, I'm not that hopeful. I did look ME3 up on IMDB and wondered if the VAs are in any particular order - if they happen to be in "amount of time spent" order, it's not looking good for Thane. He wasn't even on the first page - I had to hit "full cast and crew" to find Keythe Farley listed.
My hubby was quick to point out however that they can always have "updates" for download. Let's hope if we voice our concerns and show our love to Thane that perhaps he'll be treated with the respect the character deserves!

IMDB isn't a source of reliable information. A lot of the stuff there is user updated (not official).
Stuff that makes me worried about Thane is the lack of promotion. There's been no mention of his character beyond Casey Hudson mentioning Thane would be back in ME3 along with Zaeed and others. We know he'll be there but not as a squadmate. Beyond that, they've been tight-lipped. I don't expect he'll be involved much beyond a single mission but I'd love to be wrong.
I'm hoping BioWare paid attention to the "Cure Thane" campaign and it influenced them enough to put in a cure or treatment option for him. We haven't exactly been silent about our support for his character and what we'd like to see. I just hope BioWare listened, like they've obviously listened to fans of other characters.

I wouldn't go by IMDB. They had Miranda's VA at the top and we know she isn't a permanat squadmate. She's above Kaidan, Ashely, Garrus, and Liara. We know she won't be geting nearly as much screentime or content as they are because they are permanat. She's also above both Shepards. They also have gotten information wrong more than once.
Keythe Farley still hasn't said anything about Thane in ME3. I guess he still can't.
I agee should show our support and hope that they do his character jutice. At this point it's really hard for me to have faith in Bioware.

It sure did.
That's how Garrus and Tali ended up in ME2, and as LI's in the first place.
