I don't believe one word he says. All I see them doing is favoring the ME1 squad. Especially Garrus, Tali and Liara. Every character can not be include, but they could have done a better job of including the LI's instead of dumbing the ones from ME2 and added ones we didn't need. I am willing to wait until the game comes out and see.
Fans get over it. I don't think so. Especially if they get scewed.
I think he's full of it.


Do you think there is any chance we will see Thane in the next trailer?
I thought they asked who you would like to see in it.

Working on a Thanemancing playthrough right now. It's hard to resist a character that seems designed to cut straight through my higher functions to "that's really hot."

I can't wait to play the demo. I thought it would be out today (it's the 14th here in Australia) but I'll have to wait till tomorrow. Oh well, gives me something to look forward too. xD

I really, really hope that Thane gets treated well in ME3.

I can be outside one of the BW offices in under a 4 hour drive, the other is about a 3 hour flight.  Either way, I'm good to go.  Just let me pack the kindling and blindfolds.....

I would definitely squeeee for Thane in a trailer - in anything really!

From that recent Mac Walters interview,

"Sure, there are a few complaints about not being able to take character X on a certain mission or something, but people get over it really quick and then say 'I just enjoyed the ride – and it was amazing."

He really doesn't seem to get it. It's not about being angry that we can't take a certain character on a certain mission, it's about ONLY being able to take certain characters on certain missions. If there is only one mission I can go on with Thane, then his character, like most of the rest of the ME2 exclusives, are operating in isolation. They only exist during a certain set of circumstances, at one point in time. Shepard keeps moving, they stand still, they can't offer their unique perspective on current events. That was a huge part of ME2, the varied cast of characters and the unique perspective they offered.

Instead we get a "core" cast of LIARA, GARRUS, VS, TALI AND OH HAI LOOK ITS MARCUS FENIX! If the entire cast of characters from the previous two games was in rotation, then maybe we would be able to, "get over it really quick and then say 'I just enjoyed the ride" but we can't when it is clear that some are being placed head, shoulders and torso above a good portion of the others.

It'll deal a blow to replayability, because if you can only access certain characters at certain times, their place in the story and their reactions to things are always going to be the same. In ME2, but better in Dragon Age Origins, I would sometimes bring people with me, not for their combat prowess, but just for their personalities, to hear their reactions on things. If I wanted to bring Shale and Zevran out, I could. And they'd actually have things to say to each other!

Well, I'm not going to get over it really quick. Especially if Shepard only has one or two limited interactions with Thane AND THEN HE DIES.

Especially if everyone else gets to ride off into the sunset with their LI by the end of the game and my Shepard has to be alone because of an misguided and entirely wrongheaded idea that an end of the world plot needs more drama.

And I agree Asenza. I don't want everything to be "separate" and disconnected. But hey, I'm hopeful that it won't happen! 3 more weeks!

Agreed. Interaction is extremely limited. It's even worse if said character is a love interest and you only see them once while other love interests stick around for the whole game. How is that fair? It just seems like those on the squad are being favored over the rest. If the LI you chose is on the squad, great for you. If not, you're screwed. That's what it amounts to. But its okay, because we'll ~get over it~, right, BioWare?

Why did they bother to make anyone on the ME2 squad a LI if this is how they handle it? Seems pointless if they were just going to dump them in the next game and make new characters to take their place.

I feel like maybe the ME team could have taken cues from the DA:O team. Just a thought. The ability to kiss Alistair anytime I wanted was FANTASTIC.

I'd love that if they did that with the LIs in ME.

This is exactly what I think. Why did they even bother. All the bs about LI's getting equal treatment is just bs. Mac Walter is just talking ou the side of his head. If he thinks it will be that easy to get over it then he can think again.

He better be in the trailer or there will be a lot of angry Thane fans! He is by the far the most complex and one of the most loved from ME2!
