Aha, I see. Never read anything from the leak so probably why I missed it. If it's possibly false, then we have no clues about Thane?

Granted, no clues can be both bad and good.

It wasn't anything to do with the leak it was just supposed to be an upcoming magazine reveal.  It was either a hoax or Bioware, changed their mind about what could be released and asked that it not be published.  I think it is the former, hope its the latter.

It was never in the leaked files. It was something that was something that came out a few months ago. When it didn't appear in the article it was to have come from people started to think it might have never been real. We also couldn't find any proof of it anywhere.

It makes me so sad to think a random troll potentially thought up a better storyline for Thane than the writers at BioWare. :/

Some random troll did a better job writing for Thane then the people that created him.

I wouldn't think it was better. I was a little concerned that Kolyat was going to be completely forgotten with that mission, considering he's stuck on the Citadel.

I really hope that he's not completely forgotten. He is Thane's child after all, besides Thane not having much time left, the galaxy is in all out war who knows how much time anyone has left. I would hope Thane went to spend time with Kolyat on the citadel. It did not sound like Thane and Kolyat were 100% with their relationship quite yet by the end of ME2. I'd hate for him to completely disappear, especially over Shepard romancing Thane.

Hopefully Bioware is trolling us at the same time, and it will be ok in the end.  Long shot, but gotta hope; a lot of the other threads are getting depressing and really negative.  Maybe a nice date with Thane will be included at least...

I'm not surprised they are getting negative. Bioware hasn't really given anyone anything, and It seem as if they have forgotten about the ME2 squad.
Still hoping for something good in ME3 for Thane.

I never thought Kolyat would be forgotten. I thought if Invictus had turned out to be true that kolyat was one of the reason Thane was doing this. For Shepard and for his son. If he had any chance to save his life so that he could be the kind of father his son deserves I believe he would take it.  I'm sure they still keep in contact and he goes to see him when he can. 
Also I think Bioware would be smart enough to know that if Thane fans would not be happy if they just forgot about Kolyat.

I agree. The Invictus stuff didn't really go into the aftermath of the mission. Thane could have returned to the Citadel to undergo treatment where he could be close to his son. Not out of the realm of possibility.

I liked the idea mainly because it addressed the illness and presented the possibility of dealing with it and Shepard getting to help with that. It gave me hope that, yeah, he might be cured or have his life prolonged. Which would mean more time for him to spend with his son as well as Shepard once the Reaper problem was dealt with.

Wow, I disappear from the BSN for a few months, I come back, and I haven't missed a thing, even finding that stuff I thought i knew (Invictus) potentially doesn't exist.

We've been given less than most. I believe all non-DLC squadmates from ME2 (minus Thane...)have been in a trailer. (except maybe Jack, but we've seen her concept art.) We're still empty-handed. I'm considering jumping on the Garrus bandwagon.

About the Invictus thing...

You have to say, the poem Invictus really is applicable to Thane, so if it really was a troll, they really picked an appropriate name. Like, of all the names they could have chosen, they picked that one.

So appropriate, that it makes that shriveled up heart of mine, that flagging organ that Jecwsu hasn't yet managed to depress into nothingness, hang on with hope.

EDIT: If the worst happens to Thane, I really wouldn't have much left in me to care about Kolyat.

So far as the alleged Invictus mission goes, I don't see something wrong with it in concept. I've been hoping that the hanar would have something to do with the war- if the key lies in prothean stuff, well they're the ones all about preserving prothean ruins, and Thane could serve as a connection to them...

Bioware hasn't given Thane fans anything. I think there is one more trailer coming out and some of us have been asking if Thae will be in it on twitter. Just hoping they listen. If not then we just have to wait for the game to come out.

I will not abandon Thane or his character. I thought he was one of the better characters the introduced into ME2 and would not jump ship just because I've seen another LI or ME1 squadmate in a trailer.
It's less than three weeks away, so let's try to stay positive - it appears that most people are in the same "no news" boat.

Anyone else noticed that the uniform femShep wears in the intro makes her boobs look.... weird?
I have no problem with the armor, looks great, it's just the uniform....

Is your ThaneShep the one in your avatar? She has great eyes. I like using colors that stand out too.

I actually had to check screenshots about the uniform thing. xD I've seen it, and I approve of the style, but I never noticed that before. It does look a little weird from the side, but I think it looks fine from the front.

Same here. Natalie cares for Kolyat like a member of her own family... or the family she never had, I guess. (She's Earthborn.)

Well said. I could never abandon him either. I think Thane's quote "It's difficult. All things worth keeping are" is so appropriate in the face of all this doubt we're having.

It's not easy but when you love someone you stick with them even when it's hard or painful.

My Shepard would still look out for him. She has the colonist background so she has no living family of her own. Family is still important to her though. She wants to see Thane reconciled with his son and she cares about Kolyat because he's so important to Thane.

Way back before we knew much of anything I thought about this, too. Thane being Shepard's liason to the Hanar, who had knowledge of some helpful prothean artifact which could be used to stop the Reapers. It would have made sense.

I have to agree with you for not jumping ship.  We did romance him knowing that he was dying (and we're with him all the way!), and I'm personally ok with his death, but if there's an option to save him that would be awesome.  If not, well hopefully Bioware is kind enough to give us some lovely screen time with him. And if that's not an option either, then I will have to pay a visit to the Bioware HQ ...

But the demo was fun!  The biotic melee was BEAST; playing as a Vanguard, the melee just gave me an excuse to get close and personal with Cerberus Agents.  If we see Thane fight, that would be the best melee ever to witness

What's even more hilarious is Invictus is, in fact, a planet in Mass Effect. Supposed to be a lawless, crime-ridden planet run by mercs, too.

Ava and the others are all correct that we haven't seen anything supporting the Invictus stuff. It was apparently going to be revealed in an upcoming magazine article this past October, but it never materialized. Also, those who have read the script have seen no such thing.

So, other than that one post, there's literally nothing on Invictus. Part of me wishes it was the case.
