It would also give everyne a reason to stick with the multiplayer longer. This way, some people could get lucky and play everything they want right away, while others could eventually get frustrated and quit trying. I think people are more determined to keep playing if they know there's a definite reward in their near future.
I couldn't agree with you more, Saren. I speak for myself when saying that I was getting very frustrated when I spent all my credits on packs and received no aliens

As you said, most of us don't play Mass Effect for the combat, we play it for the amazing story and deep, interesting characters. I do enjoy the combat though.
P.S - I laughed at the "an asari who doesn't flirt with anything!" xD

I enjoy the combat too, even more so in ME2 (though I still thought it was fun in ME1). I've actually replayed missions for it. But I started playing these games to create characters, and that's why I thought the multiplayer sounded so cool when it was announced. I would be able to play that turian vanguard I planned out ages ago, a stealthy drell assassin, a crazy krogan that charges anything that moves, all with awesome color combinations... and then they announced that there's no off-line co-op, which means I'll be waiting until I can afford a gaming PC. Take lots of pictures for me, guys.

My brother tells me over and over how he hates the combat and that it's the worst part of Mass Effect (which I've heard from other people as well) but I just don't think it's that bad. I genuinely like it. I'd never played a game before that introduced a power wheel and I fell in love with it straight away. It's like, in a way, you control the battlefield. Maybe not that extreme but you can just pause for a second, allocate the powers you want to use and on what enemy and then boom, epicness. xD
It is a bit silly how there's no off-line co-op. What happened to good old fashioned co-op where you grab a controller, play with your friends, family or just by yourself? Good times, good times..
Anyway! Yes, we will take lots of pictures for you Saren. (:

It's too bad about the multiplayer. I was all ready to teach someone how to play Mass Effect, but then they tell us you can't play if you don't have an online connection to your Xbox, can't play with your own family unless you have two Xboxes, can't play with your friends in the same room... yeah, really strange. Oh well, I'll just plan out my future characters until I can get that gaming PC and play with you guys. Screenshots of the character creation would be great, assuming there is one. I would hope everyone's not running around as Thane clones a few months from now. If I can't tell my character from the others, there will be much fail. And friendly fire. Maybe I should apologize in advance.

The way it seems to me, all the other LI's get things like dates and dancing and special outings. Assuming Thane is capable of it, has gotten a cure/transplant, etc- what would you like to see?
Personally, I'd like to see some lightheartedness, some fun. Thane has a sense of humor- I'd like to see more of that. I'd also like to see more of Shepard and Thane NOT talking about his past or the course his illness might take in the future, being a couple in the present (and not for obvious, dramatic reasons).
One of my complaints about the ME2 romance was that it was all one-note.

I hope Thane and my Shepard would be able to stay together in ME3. =)

But yeah, I hope conversations between Shepard and him are more about them and less about Irikah. We already know who she is but that was the past. Thane needs to focus on his health and his siha now. He needs to live for her and for Kolyat. If Thane hardly shows up in the game, I'll throw my controller at the t.v.
On the MP. It is so much fun and addicting. I unlocked a Drell vanguard that talks exactly like Thane but he kept dying or should I say I kept dying. But his moves are great just like Thane's in that trailer with him and Grunt.

My main (and only, really) Shep romances Thane. Since I play her as primarily renegade, I like thinking about how completely opposite their approaches to life are. She has an "any price is acceptable, so long as you're fighting for the right goal" approach to life, so that tends to put her at odds with Thane. Once she gets closer to him, I think of him being a good influence on her, even though she'd still qualify as renegade.
As far as ME3 goes, I'm hoping, even if Thane doesn't make it aboard the Normandy, that others acknowledge him. Something kind of like Kasumi mentioning Shepard's romances in ME2, but more in-depth. I'd also like for Shepard to be able to recall Thane in other ways; for instance, Shepard could ask Mordin to help the hanar physicians cure Kepral's or something once the war is over. Just little ways to say that Shepard cares and hasn't completely forgotten about him.
I'm also hoping that his appearances are not reduced to only a video-chat session or two in the game. It'd be great if Shepard could take the opportunity to sit down and talk with Thane in person, since my Shep will definitely be needing someone to vent to if the game goes the way I'm expecting (and hoping).

^This. I completely agree.
The one thing that bugs me about ME's romances is that once they happen, they get a little recognition and then that's that. Done, dusted, all over. Garrus barely got any lines of dialogue if you romanced him and after the suicide mission, he repeats the "blowing off steam" line. I mean, come on, how hard could it have been to add one line about Garrus enjoying the night and how much it meant to him. Even Jacob had an extra dialogue line if you romanced him and he survives the suicide mission.
Okay, that's my rant. Now, Thane in ME3!! It'd be great if you could take him on a date and dance...

To be fair, I don't think anyone but Jacob and Tali get a romance follow up line.
Dragon Age really did wonders with squad banter and the various squadmates reactions to the PC and the LI's relationship. Even Dragon Age 2 did it better than ME1 and 2, even if it did get every other conceivable thing wrong, wrong, wrong.
In ME3 I want to find out if Thane and Shepard ever did get to go on their desert vacation.

Ah, okay fair enough. I wish that they all got a romance follow up line, that would have been nice.
I'd also like to find out if Thane and Shep got to go on their desert vacation. It'd be awesome if you could take him there in the game but I doubt that will happen. One can dream.

hope this isn't posted yet, it's a music video with scenes from ME2 and music by Florence and the Machine; I thought it was very nice and well made:

It's really hard for me to think of something to say for questions like this after reading the spoilers that may or may not be complete, or even true anymore, without spoiling it here for anyone who doesn't want to know. So, I'll just say that no matter what happens, I want there to be more deep, emotional dialogue with Thane in ME3. I want to see dialogue options that make me think, "This is exactly what my Shepard would say!" I want them to have some time together before the whole galaxy is brought to hell and back. Not very specific, but that's my answer.Asenza wrote...
So, what are everyone's hopes for the Thane romance in ME3?
The line that Garrus repeats after the suicide mission seems to be random, and none of us at the Garrus thread has been able to figure out what causes the variation. I was lucky enough to get his "I still haven't forgotten what we talked about" line to repeat.Purple_Lobster23 wrote...

Oh, I see, well you're lucky you got the "I still haven't forgotten what we talked about" line, that does work really well!
After the suicide mission when he said "blowing off steam" to my Shep she was like "I thought it meant more than that to you, Garrus, shame on you! ...but I'm happy to keep blowing off steam.."
