What I am not fond of is the return of basically just the ME1 squad. Compared to the ME2 squad, I find them kinda... bland. There's a reason I never brought Kaidan/Ashley, Tali or Liara with me on missions. So I'll be down to Garrus and some random squaddie I've never met before. I like Garrus but... meh I've just been spoiled with the squad from ME2.
They should really have thought it out before they tossed x numbers of sqaddies into the game, agh.. >.< It's funny how Garrus and Tali can die in the suicide mission yet they are permanent squadmembers?
Haha, imagine that the more died in the suicide mission the bigger chance Thane would be a squadmember. xD

Sent a request! I'd be happy to join someone's game and play with fellow Thane fans!
Also I voted and wanted to spam the vote button but alas.

I still can't believe what a following Tali has - I personally don't understand it. I find her bland as well *ducks in case someone is throwing something*
In fact I have a PT right now where I haven't recruited her yet. Maybe I won't so I don't have to leave her behind in ME3 like I did in ME1.
This page is sorely lacking some Thane goodness! I realize he's not exactly upbeat in this, but I thought it was beautiful

Thane crying because he's not a permanent companion.
He was an awesome character who should have had a larger role in ME3. Damn it. It's a shame ME isn't like Baldur's Gate when it came to companion numbers.
I mean what is a 1 hour or 2 hour quest?
---
Someone needs to create an image of Thane throwing some tables over because he's mad that he's not a main squadmate in ME3.

I don't doubt him being on Shepard's mind a lot while she's locked up. That's one of the things the game doesn't need to express for me to know that he will be. Also, there was no room for it. It would have been really weird if when turning to speak to Vega or talking to Anderson in the hallway, she just random says "I miss Thane" and starts crying or something. Wtf, Shepard, ****s going down. Now is not the time.

@JECWSU: I actually liked Shepard's reaction to Virmire. Shepard stayed strong during the mission (but depending on dialogue choices, he/she could still sound full of regret), and had a conversation with the survivor where we had the option of saying how Shepard felt about it. Later, Shepard could also give his/her opinion about this when Miranda asked. They can't have too much of an emotional reaction because for a lot of Shepards, it wouldn't seem right. I have many of my own who go by the "fight now, grieve later" way of thinking, and many who weren't close with Ashley/Kaidan at all, but there are lines that work for my Shepards who lost someone very close to them. The scene for Shepard silently reflecting on suicide mission deaths was probably done that way for the same reason. Shepard looked thoughtful, and we get to imagine what he/she was thinking about.
@Lucky Thirteen: That's exactly how my Natalie Shepard would feel. If Thane does die, I want her to be emotional, but she knows that she can't fall apart. She's the galaxy's last hope, and she'll stay strong for them, her friends who are still alive, and Thane's memory. She can finish grieving for him when it's over and everyone is safe.
I didn't have much of a problem with Shepards reaction. My reaction was blank. Virmire made me feel absolutely nothing. I've cried more over someone dying in a soap opera. I've also seen that kind of scene play out in movies and t.v. before. It really wasn't anything new. I have no faith that they would do a good job with Thane's death either. If it was Garrus or Liara maybe, but I don't see them putting that much effort into Thane.
No one wants to see Shepard having a nervous breakdown or crying ever five seconds if Thane does die. The problem is I don't think we will get much reaction from her at all. She will act like he never existed. They will probably not have shepard or anyone else mention his name.

Do you care at all about my idea that the data pad has a letter from Thane?

I think that it'd be nice if the data pad Shepard was holding was a letter from Thane. In fact, it'd be more than nice, it'd be fantastic. We might never see what was actually on that datapad but we could assume that it's from Thane which could be wishful thinking or we're just being optimistic. Maybe a bit of both.
Nevertheless, Shepard has to at least be thinking about Thane in ME3, we might not get any dialogue to show this but it's only natural that Shepard would be thinking of her love.

I'm saying let's make it our own fanon. It could really be fanon for any LI.
Logically, the Alliance may have been blocking Shepard from contacting Thane to prevent some attempts at escape. Equally logically they could have been just screening everything and contact was kept at a minimal. This may or may not be confirmed in the game. If they don't say whether or not Thane contacts her a few times, why can we not assume that it did happened? It's something that could be left open for us to fill in the holes.

You know I had this thought when I first played the demo. I just realized I should share this idea of mine with you guys and gals to perhaps put some happy thoughts in your head. That little datapad Shepard is reading at the begining, that could be a letter from Thane for all we know. She's reading it for like, the hundrenth time that day.

I like that thought about the datapad, I will use it when i next play the demo
that would be weird, but I'm picturing quite an amusing scene reading your description

@Lucky Thirteen: I can't really comment on the theory of Thane sending letters to Shepard because I've read the spoilers and know the truth about this.
Okay, I understand now.JECWSU wrote...

Okay, I understand now.I've seen a lot of varied opinions about whether or not people find the Virmire choice emotional. Of course, most people who liked both Kaidan and Ashley did think of it that way. I was sort of neutral towards Kaidan, and I never liked Ashley, so I didn't get emotional over it. (The Saren confrontation, Sovereign's speech, and persuading Wrex - those were the emotional high points for me.) I might find it more emotional later on when playing Shepards who care deeply for both of those characters. I love all my Shepards, so it's easier to feel bad for them. xD
Please, oh please be the truth! xD
I'm hoping that in ME3 there will be many emotional moments that'll make me think twice and really feel for Shepard and the characters. ME2 made me get emotional in some parts but since ME3 is a much bigger focus on the war with the Reapers, I really hope there's lots of touching and emotional moments. If there is, I'll be a happy gamer.

I've read so many emotional moments so far. So many. It's brilliant. I love this game already, and it isn't even out yet. 12 days for those of us in North America. 12 DAYS, YOU GUYS!
