The first picture on this page is amazing. Really talented artist. That might just be my favorite Thane fanart.
I don't consider it as cheating if Shepard moves on with someone else after the way Ashley/Kaidan acts on Horizon. They practically ended the relationship right there, and a letter isn't always good enough to fix that. Too little, too late. It's more of a tricky situation with Liara. Shepard doesn't have an opportunity to end the relationship until LotSB. Now I have a question for those of you who have DLC. If you play LotSB early, before you start a romance with someone else, can you still break up with Liara, or does the subject not come up at all, basically forcing you to "cheat"?

Pfft. Oh that would be hilarious. I'd definitely go along with Mordin with that just to see Carson's reaction.
That dialogue really cheered me up. I've just been trying to recreate my MainShep Margurite so I can get her facecode and put it into the PC. That took over an hour and a half to do, and it is most definitely not right, but it's as close as I'm going to get her. (Why, oh why doesn't the facecode show when you import a ME2 save?!). Please remind me never to loose track of my facecodes again. That was truly an exercise in frustration.
You can still join him!
I'm sure Carson will run through red sand again soon enough. Glad the dialogue cheered you up.
Ummm, I don't know. I don't think anyone here has done that. Well, maybe Saren. SAREN!!! Have you done this?
For the record, this is the first thing I saw when I entered the thread. xD It amused me.
To answer the question - yes, I think the official romance starter with Thane is the "I'm here for you" line (labelled as "I want you" for the purpose of being obvious, as the actual dialogue is not). The "friends" line, although it does sound flirty, probably isn't a romance starter - but it definitely works to play it like one for some Shepards.
You have no idea just how much air it took to shout that half-way around the globe.

Glad I could help! Especially you cheered me up after that facecode reconstruction. Grr. That's still peeving me off. That said, I'm sitting here with my new dance skirt on my dressmakers mannequin next to me and the sheer amount of work I had to put into it, and still have to go, is making me pretty irritable too, so that might have something to do with it.
And you know what, after all the work I did reconstructing that face code, ME2 Margurite, and ME3 Margurite Approximate... LOOK NOTHING LIKE EACH OTHER! See?

So my head canon is now going to be that she went renegade and her arrest did not go according to plan, resulting in her doing a Garrus, and taking a bullet to the face from point-blank range, and the reconstructive surgeon seriously botched the job. Seriously though, she looked better in ME2 and on my PlayStation.
Thane is not going to recognise his Siha anymore. Hell, she's not even a Paragon anymore. She's a very angry woman now, his Siha.

Kaidan doesn't have a chance. You'll find out why in Invictus, since we have no idea what happened during her trial (oh ho, I'm evil!).

Anyways, enough of my rambling. On topic:
LT, I love that idea of Shepard reading a love letter from Thane. <3 I've immediately retconned it into my headcanon. Mind if I reference it in Invictus? I've already got the turtling, green tea ice cream, drellicking, and one of Saren's dialogues referenced in there.
We've all said it before, and we'll all more than likely say it again, but none of us consider Kaidan/Liara and FemShep to still be in a relationship. My Shepards certainly dont. Horizon would certainly kill any relationship. Death even more so.
And Saren, thanks for clearing that up. I'm going to use that line now.

I just used the "Just friends?" line because I thought that was the romance trigger.
Oh, and I just found this new Thane pic on DA.

Oh, and this is funny, too. Might be a bit racy to some, but definitely
not NSFW, so the moderators can't take it down.
