Maybe its me and where I am in my life right now. One door is closing and one door is opening. Change is coming fast and hard. I have no choice but to go and do what I have to do. So much time has passed and yet it was a blink of an eye. It started here, where my life is currently and it will end as my life here ends.

The parallels are stark.

It's in these final moments. Of standing in a group of people, a team, a room of faces you have known and either hated or loved for so long and knowing, this moment is the last few remaining. Then it everything is clear again. They matter and no matter what happens, even if Thane is in the game for one minute, I won't care simply because he was there. It's done. I can go on. I can be thankful and I can say, I saw it through.

So you can make the choice of seeing sadness or feeling bad because we have not seem him is trailer. To me, it doesn't matter. We will see him one more time. I know this. And no it's not because of some spoiler. I just feel it.

It's going to be GREAT! :D

Now that I actually got ME3 on the computer (So close yet so far away dangit) I'm oddly... hopeful. Don't ask me why, yesterday I would not have been as optimistic. Mostly because I don't see any game company just throwing away a character when all other characters have been revealed the way they have. It would just be an unnecesary cruel act towards the fans. (My current thought so don't slay me)

Seeing Thane moving around and in action would, as Hainkpe said, reveal that he's actually well, which would remove the effect upon seeing him for the first time in the game. Now it's still uncertain what his role is.

I hate it but seen from Bioware's side, it makes sense, considering Thane's past.

We won't know until later. Bah.

@Nerana I know. See the beauty or see the pain. It's a choice. A personal choice. I see the beauty. A way to end it, as my people would say, in a good way. I would rather have Thane go down fighting then to die in hospice. That's not what he wanted. He should die a good death and I hope that Bioware allowed for that. If that is what happens. Or we can help him. In some small way, that would be wonderful.

Now, we wait. But what's 80 plus hours now after 2 years? :)

It's hilarious because Thane was at the upper top of ME2's marketing. Frankly, I think this only indicates one thing: that he's available for only a tiny portion of the game, one that's not enough to even justify showing him in a trailer.

I don't really care at this point anyway. Part of me knew we wouldn't see him until in-game, so I'm not all that surprised. The launch trailer was epic nonetheless.

This is pretty much where I'm at right now.
The only reason not to show him is that his role is so small that any picture would show everything. I really don't have very much hope left for Bioware giving Thane a decent and satisfactory conclusion.
I still did enjoy the trailer as well.

BioWare continue to disappoint. We've seen a glimpse of everyone at this point except Thane. Just a quick shot of him in the trailer would have meant a lot to fans of his character and many of us asked for it on Twitter. I don't really see a reason for them not to show anything at all with him, especially with the game so close to release.

The only bright side is we won't need to wait much longer, I suppose.

I just watched the launch trailer and I was nearly crying because it was so good. I. Loved. It. Only 5 more days! I'm so, so excited! Yeah, I'm annoyed that they haven't showed Thane but it could be because they know people are holding out for him and they could have something great in store for him. Thane was a major part of the advertising for ME2, surely they wouldn't just toss him away and forget about him? I'm trying to remain as positive as possible but it is getting difficult when we've gotten nothing.

Also, I'm not sure which PT I should play through first. Of course I really wanna find out what happens to Thane but I'm not sure if I should leave that until later in case I make any major mistakes in my first PT. Ugh! Too hard to choose. :P
Are you guys playing your Thane PT's first?

Pretty much this.

No Thane.  No Kasumi.  No Zaeed.  Have we even seen Grunt?

Also, that looks like Anderson standing next to Shepard at the end of the trailer.

I agree! Even Jack got a part in that new trailer released today. (Think it was today..)
I'm getting so jittery and eletricfied about Mass Effect 3, just to see what will happen. Maybe there not showing anything to excite us when we see him? Or things are as bad as it seems killing him off.

^ This too. But as I was talking with Thane on my latest PT, he has said that he probably has 9-12 months left. That gives me hope. But then I don't know how far Mass Effect 3 takes place from Mass Effect 2. *sigh* there goes my hope again.

LOL! Thanks for the laugh. I think this is exactly what they do. They have someone at all hours watching this thread. Reading our posts and then decide to evily not show Thane.

I really couldn't agree more with this. It makes since in a sad ...sad way. I still get that little string of hope..then I loose it in the wind.:crying:
Trailer was good too.
And I am done talking now :D

I think the reason Thane is kept out of the trailers so far, is because there's a good chance he's going to be bedridden during the events of ME3. Considering how he apparently only had 42% lung functionality left during LotSB, I'm starting to wonder if perhaps Thane's role will be considerably limited when compared to other (ex-)squadmembers.

Well. Limited is perhaps the wrong word for it. I'm fairly positive he'll have as big a role in ME3 as other pure-ME2 squaddies will have (with the exclusion of Legion and Miranda, perhaps), but I wouldn't be surprised if he's going to be kept out of the action. Which in turn might explain why he's kept out of the action-filled trailers.

I don't know. We naturally won't know for another week, but there's this suspicion I have in the back of my head that the majority we'll see of Thane, will be his sickbed.

Edit:

There's supposed to be six months between the moment Shepard turns herself in, and the beginning of the game. What that says about Thane's life expectancy, I don't know, considering I can't get a good estimate on how long the events of ME2 take.

I'd say that Mass Effect 2 takes about 2-4 months at the least. Recuiting all the people, and doing missions takes a while. But when Thane tells you, its about midway into the game, rounding on the end of the 2nd month, middle of the 3rd month, if 2-4months is around the Mass Effect 2 completion time.

Lets hope it only took Shepard 1 week to beat the collectors. :P

“I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next. Delicious Ambiguity.” ~ Gilda Radner

We don't know what is going to happen. None of us do. Well, if one of us does and they are have it on good authority, meaning not some shady leak, then step on out and spill. XD Otherwise, we dont know. Now not knowing is hard. Its easy to fall prey to doubt and insecurity. Yet, what is left?

“Anyone can give up, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that's true strength.”

I refuse to join the party. I am going to stand here and be stubborn and obstinate. One of my best qualities. Yeah I know. How is that? To look death and fear in the face, to see the pain and the hurt and stare back unflinchinly, that's what this is about. I have some experience with that, just a little. :)

“Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, 'I will try again tomorrow.'” ~ Mary Anne Radmacher

Tomorow is another day. The last of the few we have left. We can post here and be sad or we can do what we always do, celebrate Thane Krios. No troll ever came on to this thread and got us down. Why would we allow fear and doubt? Its just another troll.

Wait. Be patient. Find your resolve. Mostly, let's talk about our journey and all that has happened that makes this thread and this character so much a part of who we are as bioware appreciaters that its almost like home.

Paging Thane Krios, Thane Krios please report to the Thane Thread, immediately. STAT.

We haven't seen any of them, but Thane is the worst. He was so heavily advertised in ME2,and he's an LI. They've shown every other LI but him. It makes no sense, and there is no real excuse not to give us a glimpse.

I wouldn't say excuse, but they do have a reason. I would bet once the game is out and we ask a dev, they will explain why they did what they did. First the game has to come out. I know, I for one, will be asking. Simply because I am curious.

Having read the leaked script, Thane gets the best sendoff any of the ME characters can get.

I had to wipe a tear from my eye.

I wouldn't bother with a dev if Thane does die. "Well you know when you first met him that he was going to die."
Likely answer to any Thane like questions about his death. Assuming he dies if he does.

I still try to be happy about him though.

We should talk about happy things!

Paragon Interrupt Hug for Thane must be added to Me3. Anyone agree? Anyone? :D

AGREED! Posted Image That would be the happiest moment of my entire gaming life if this was added to ME3. Thane must get a Paragon Interrupt Hug, I demand it! I can just imagine it now...oh, that would be just perfect. Imagine if there was a Paragon Interrupt Kiss.....*drools*, ahem.. Posted Image

Now I'm intrigued. I will put this on my to do list and after the release and we know what happens, I plan on asking. I want to know. My curiosity has been peaked. ;)

I am hoping for a conversation. An opportunity to discuss the process, the thoughts behind and the outcome. I think once the games out, there is a chance they, the devs, will want to talk about it. Seeing and hearing their point of view would be enlightening not to mention from an insiders perspective.

Oh man, just a few more days... XD

Will these be questions about Thane or just the game in general?

That's true.
Questions about just Thane would probably be better. I'm sure they will get questions about all the characters.
Especially if they screw things up.

Exactly! Thane cannot be deprived of hugs and kisses, it would not be fair! Posted Image

And I will not be a happy camper if the only option is Thane dying. IF that is the only option, they better do the death well or I'll go into complete rage mode.
