Yeah, having dependable writers is the only real issue. I just wanted to do my own stuff as well. :)

As for Mordin, it's a possibility. He is a dear character to me and I found his role in ME3 quite fitting. I'd have to go over some ideas in my brain.

Are you going to try to do any new Thane videos?
I know there really wasn't much to work with.

After this, I'm honestly hopeing that no one does. If Thane dies, everyone dies. End of story.

Sara Shepard is ready to join Thane by the end of the game but she knows how much it will hurt her friends. I think Kaidan will take it the worst he's loved her from the beginning and he probably always will. Followed by Garrus and Tali.

I came to a realization recently and i think i'll share my thoughts but first, the real reason I'm here: This is my way of paying my respects to Thane. He was never an LI as i was always male but he was one of my closest friends and I can say that while killing Kai Leng was satisfying, it didn't bring back my friend.

Thane Krios: R.I.P.

As for my realization I believe that Bioware is forcing us as a collective to deal with loss and the reality that happy endings just don't happen sometimes. I am personally dealing with the agony of either forcing my LI to endure my second death or being separated from her with no way of getting back to her. That's all i'll say without getting into any spoilers.

My apologies for the rambling but i hope that you all at least found closure. Remember that some of us have none.

that's is one of our problems as well, we didn't receive any closure from the romance. i'm sure if you read some of the posts you'll get an idea what all the fuss is about.

Yeah, I would be writing my own stuff as well. This would of course be in addition to that. But somehow, with all the shunting back and forth between writers, betas, and editors, I imaging that there would only be a chapter about every 2/3 weeks or so. Enough time for everyone to work on their own stuff, as well as this.

I have some ideas for how I would have rewritten the Thane romance. These at least, without denying his scripted death, would have at least given us some closure and bloody oath BioWare should have thought of them themselves!

Just wished to share the conversation lines with Thane as found in the last leaked script. I know some of you probably read.
I read this script soon after it got out but at the time I was pretty much disppointed about it.

Seeing what we got I am still baffled over that fact that I like what was in the script a lot better. Lack of choice to decide Thane's fate after all the time being led on with tidbits of tweet posts and hints here and there, is still something I can't easily forgive.

I think it'll be rather obvious which lines of the script  apply to romanced Thane.

SCRIPT: Context: Thane was supposed to assassinate Udina. There is another version of the leaked script where he can actually survive the coup and another conversation in the hospital (with Kolyat present) where he doesn't die either - or so it would see since the conversation was suddenly cut off.

Thane: {With a little difficulty.] Congratulations are in order. The Council has not been this united since... uhh.{Thane sinks to his knees. Shepard kneels by him.}

Shepard: What's wrong?

Thane:Kepral's. It's aggravated by... exertion.

Thane: I'm sorry, siha. I ran all the way here... couldn't let you fail. Thought I was being a hero.

I'm sorry, Shepard. I ran across the Presidium to... to make it here in time. Tried a little heroism.

Shepard:It's all right. Just catch your breath.

Thane:Doubtful. Oxygen transfer proteins aren't working. Your equivalent would be hemo-- {A coughing fit wracks Thane. Shepard helps out so he's lying in Shepard's arms.}--hemoglobin. Can't get oxygen from the air. Brain is starving.

Shepard:I'll get some medical help.

Thane:[Shakes head.] Don't go.

Shepard: Do you want me to see if I can find Kolyat for you?

Thane:No. But I have taken lives tonight to reach you. There is something I must do.

Shepard: Did I give you permission to die on me?

Thane: Don't make me laugh... breathing... is hard enough.

Shepard:You ran here in your condition? That's... that's suicide.

Thane:[CINEDESIGN: Small smile.] Last time we tried, it worked out. More importantly, I couldn't let you fail.{A coughing fit wracks Thane. Shepard helps out so he's lying in Shepard's arms.}Sorry. Shouldn't talk. Consumes more oxygen.

Shepard:I'll get some medical help.

Thane:I know all the experts on the Citadel. Ran diagnostics two weeks ago. I asked what they recommended at this late stage. They said, "spend time with your family."

Shepard:Looks like I'm all you've got.

Thane: I can think of no one better, siha.Your memory is not like mine, but perhaps you can keep me in it for a little while.

- Shepard: You're not an easy person to forget, Thane.

Thane:The moment will be soon. [Coughing fit.] I shouldn't have run. You did not even need me.

Shepard: You fought for something noble, Thane. As last moments go, it's not a bad one.

Thane:No... there is one I would prefer.[Thane memory flashback.] Fist slams the table. Shame at my cowardice, my fear. Atonement means nothing. Her hand touches mine. Her lips part and I tremble. "Thane, be alive with me tonight."

[His body relaxes. Shepard wipes her eyes. Maybe we see a tear, maybe we don't. The music tells us all we need to know.]

Shepard: Goodbye, Thane. Meet you across the sea.

- Shepard:For someone who just saved the Citadel Council, you seem to think people will forget you pretty fast.

Thane:Fame was the last thing on my mind. You were the first. Without you... well.

Shepard: You fought for something noble, Thane. As last moments go, it's not a bad one.

Thane: I am at peace with that, Commander.There is something I must do before it gets worse. I must-- [Coughing fit.]Kalahira, mistress of inscrutable depths, I ask forgiveness. Kalahira, whose waves wear down stone and sand--{Thane goes into another coughing fit.}

Shepard: Kalahira, wash the sins from this worshipper and set him on the distant shore of the infinite spirit.

Thane: How did you know that?

Shepard: I had to say something if you didn't come back from Omega-4. I had the extranet and a couple nights to think.

Thane:[Coughs.] Say it for me.

Shepard:Kalahira, this one's heart is pure but beset by wickedness and contention.Guide him to where the traveler never tires, the lover never leaves, the hungry never starve. Guide him, Kalahira, and he will be a companion to you as he was to me.

{Thane's body relaxes. Shepard closes his eyes. The music tells us all we need to know.}

{We pan up and out and fade to black.}

Shepard:Goodbye, Thane.

EDIT: This is not the only conversation in the script. Just to let you guys know. Hope I'll find the rest on my pc soon and share it with you, if you'd all like that. Just let me know.

I started a new game (no import, chose the Kaidan dies option) as FemShep to see what differences story wise there were and Thane was on the Normandy memorial. Why did they choose to make him dead by default? I wonder how many ME2 people are dead if you chose the "Numerous" option...

My guess is that so that the Salarian councilor dies and they do not get any aid from the Salarians. They hope that would encourage people to pick up a copy of ME2 to see what they missed.

Tbh, I hate how Femshep talks to Thane when she meets him. She goes all cougar on him, with no empathy whatsoever.

No I love you's, either.

@Aello89: Thank you for sharing the script with us. It's wonderful dialogue - I never will understand why this is not the version we get in ME 3.
It's sad, very sad, yes, but satisfying for me because it's is much more emotional, much more showing the relationsship between Thane and Shepard was not "blowing off steam" but something that went so much more deeper.

Sorry, I can't write more now because I have to look for a Kleenex to wipe my tears.

I'm playing through again, this time on my infiltrator who romanced Garrus.

The female Shep / unromanced Thane conversation at the hospital is better than the convo with a romanced Thane.

I couldn't even work up anger about it, just more disappointment.

Dopped the ball?  That's an understatement.

The more I listen to ME2's soundtrack it just feels like ME2 was more epic than ME3. Sure ME3 made me emotional but I wasn't sitting in my seat like I did during the collector base. I always sit in my seat when doing the collector base, even after having replayed it like... 5 times now.

Something went horribly wrong between ME2 and ME3 and the biggest one was the treatment of ME2 LIs. :S

I just don't get the option for NO good ending at all. I have seen VERY few movies and games that actually END that badly. Actually I can't name anyone right now even. Yes, a horror movie actually.

Almost makes me wish that the ME series ended at ME2 instead with the collectors being the most dangerous thing threatening the galaxy. >.>

I do wonder if that tweet Patrick Weeks posted about mission on "Kahje" was before of after the leaked script slipped onto internet?
It would be even more interesting to know since there was no Kahje mission listed on the last leaked scriped (back in november). Talk about trolling people.
Manifestation of Shale; except that this time pigeons are safe and it's our emotions/hearts that got squished.

Ugh! @Aello89 That is SO MUCH BETTER than the actual conversation! Why would they cut that? It's not like it's that much longer/involved than what we got!

Oh so angry...Posted Image

And at least that is more like a Shepard that cared for/loved him.

I was amazed at how in ME3 I never saw ANYONE shed a tear. Tears were flying all over ME2.

And I'm surprised that they kept so much from the leaked script - if it had been me I would have at least tried to change as much as I could so that everyone was surprised.  This way, lots of people already knew what was coming, for all aspects of the story.

Tell me about it. If his death had to be pre-set, then at least keeping the script conversation would make it all the more bearable and easier to accept.

Ironically, there was another conversation suggesting that Thane could be saved.
But alas, since people who never liked Thane from the beginning or never bothered with his romance demanded his death as necessary element for Thane to stay in the character - becasue apparently his illness defines his whole personallity - that was cut from the game as well.

Bioware listened to fans....

Fans didn't say that. He was the badass poster boy, most people liked him.

It's obvious they forgot about his entire romance, same with most ME2's characters/plotline in general and scrambled to make something..

I liked how they handled Miranda. Grunt was badass and had one of the BEST scenes. Zaaed and Kasumi were well done too. And Mordin....WOW, DAMMIT, fantastic!

So Jacob cheats... So what, it happens everywhere. Femshep isn't excluded from such treatment and it added a touch of realism that I liked a lot.

So Thane's romance aside (His exit was badass and sad as well), ME2's cast was not forgotten at all.

I've sat here and given my opinions and rants and I'd be more than happy to give what time I have to make this better. People who have never played the game or have just to play it, I know a few of those, wondered why would I purposely send my Shep into the arms of a dying man. In June of 2009, I remarried but a few months before that moment, I had to sit in a hospital room listening to a doctor tell my soon to be husband that at 33 years old, his liver was going to fail. He was going to end up with cirrhosis. Not what you'd like to hear but there it was. Paul in all his unselfishness, a couple of days later, pulled me into his hidey hole and told me, "this is not what you signed up for. you are too young to deal with this. i am giving you the opportunity to walk away now, no hard feelings, you deserve a life because i love you too much to burden you with this." I cried and then yelled at him. I basically told him that my love comes with no conditions, good or bad I will deal with it. I will take what time is given to us and cherish it all the more. He has accepted his fate, I still hold out hope. I know there isn't much that can be done but without hope, all is lost.

I saw myself in Shep when she chose Thane. I saw hope, I saw love, and with the laziness of someone else's writing, I saw it all taken away. I'm not asking for him to never die, I'm asking that they go back, look at what was written in ME2 and follow that, right along with the little bits of hope they flung at us and correct it. To not have this count as a real romance, hurts. It hurts a lot. When the day comes when my husband passes, I will NEVER look back and say, "this never really counted because he was dying and I knew it when I married him." WTF... I would also shoot anyone who felt it necessary to hit on me right after he dies.

Closure... All of my shepards have thane for LI. When i'm done being depressed, i'm gonna make all of them finish the mission and die. The way i see it, saving thane was her loyalty mission. By the rules of ME2, no loyalty means death. Thank you, Bioware for the option to do at least that.

Just rewatched Thane's scene and seriously... Shepard and her two teammates (Garrus of all people) just stand there... doing nothing. I was so busy worrying over Thane that I didn't realise it until now. There's so many times for her to take a shot as well.

Sheesh, Bioware broke even Shepard's character in ME3 several times...

My heart is breaking for you. I know how you feel. I have held my sweatheart's hand through 3 open heart surgeries. I almost lost him before the last one which was very recently. It is hard sometimes, but his love is definately worth having. He couldn't love me more and I know that, and I try to make sure that he knows that I love him as much.

I identified heavily with the Thane and Shepard story. Making their love non-existant event in ME3 is gut wrenching. He is a worthy character to love.

Hugs to you both. Prayers that you both have as long as possible together.
