I just figured out how the can save Thane in a way that will appeal to fans. You'll get two dialouge options after his surgery.
One is let's call it Fight. Where Shepard says to hold on she or he needs him for the fight.
The second let's call it Goodbye. Here Shepard tells Thane to rest or let go.
I want the options to not be romance related that way those who are just friends with Thane won't feel weird. Then make it possible for him to recieve a cure via transplant some Mordin data left behind or anything else that can be reasonably thought of.

Really? I guess that's good for them, then, that they get it either way. I'll have to ask my brother about it, since he was the big Tali fan and he's the one that said the only way he could see her face was to make her jump off the cliff.

So, yeah, you're right there. Not comparable to Thane's bit part at all. That almost bums me out more, ROFL!

Look, i checked the mass effect wiki thing & my husband's method isn't there in the 3 options. That wiki is constantly updated cause i check when i can. There's a pattern! Ah, you're all too depressed. I'll have my pc gamer bro with a saved game mod run something through.

Someone mentioned this somewhere, but I think it should be mentioned again. Some of us started with Mass Effect 2. For me, it was Thane who introduced me to the Mass Effect universe. It was Thane who made me love this game series. It was Thane that made me go out and get Mass Effect 1 and all the merchandise and the books, etc.

I really had myself talked into the idea that there would be a couple of characters from Mass Effect 2 as squad mates. I thought it would be Thane for female Shep and the ladies, and probably Miranda or Jack for male Shepard. Whoa! Guess I was wrong. I couldn't have been more wrong. I too, have set aside my Thane playthrough. I couldn't go on with it. I started another game with Garrus. The Thane LI playthrough is too painful for me.

Just as an aside - we should never give up hope - they patched the Legacy DLC for all of the bugged dialogue - including the Fenris romance stuff!  And DA2 has been out a year! 
I just watched the youtube vid posted earlier with that lovely line about Shepard being his last love.   I can't watch anymore though as I tear up all over again.  And it's not even good dialogue!  Ugh so frustrating!!  *shakes fist*

I've played since ME1 and the Thane romance was my favorite part of the ME series and after the plot line was so completely screwed over in ME3, it ruined the rest of the game for me. I don't even care if they do "fix" the ending, because everything that happened before it is still going to be crappy for anybody that had a Thane romance and expected the character arc and story development to come to a full and satisfying conclusion.

Finally I bought PC version of game ( I will not give my Xbox Live account to EA) and Im able to post here.
I was very excited when I get mail from Thane that he is in hospital and I can visit him..and to be honest it was ..well dissapointment...
-reunion scene was terrible animated ( what's wrong with Shep hands?)
-intimate scene..big dissapointment here
-only dialog with Thane was terrible ( asking if he feel pain, or how long he will be alive )
-I couldn't tell him, that his life is more important for me, than protecting Kaidan ( while I have to admit that I love how noble Thane is)
-I never have chance to tell Kaidan ( every my Shep cheated) that Thane is true love for me, insted I get some lies and poor excuses for "cheating"
-my Shep would never run away from wounded Thane, never...I would stay with him, or leave one of my companions to protect him..
-dislike fact that Shepard didn't show any deep emotions after Thane death, also no one noticed that he is dead..instead Kaidan try to slip into my bed once again right after I lost Thane..
-The most important...I never got a chance to save Thane from death, while others LIs got it ( Miranda, Jack, Tali even Chambers).
-when my Shep is dying she even can't see Thane instead I got Liara wtf???
The only thing I liked was fight between Thane and Kai Leng...and the fact that even he was dying, he still tought about Shepard, and his last wish was prying for her ( I like that Kolyat acted so mature).am.I stupid that I cried in a front of my TV when I watched this scene?...
well...I think it was bad move from BW to cut some scenes from leaked scripts, and I don't belive that they forgot that Thane was LI for some of us ( scenes from leaked scripts are proof, that they knew he is LI for me). Also in dialog with doctor, right before Thane died, there was option to ask doctor, if I can do something to help Thane, and I have feelings, that it was way to save Thane, but this possibility was cut off...why? I don't know, maybe becouse Devs needed space for usseles jurnalist ( Chobot or something like that, never took her)...well hope, that BioWare will fix Thane and poor Jacob situation in DLC ( I really feel sorry for Jacob fangirls)...if not...well none of my Sheps will survive ME3, becouse after Thane's death I have nothing to fighting for really...

This is completely unfair.
So they get a kiss and say I love you. We get shepard  just standing there when Thane dies,and Miranda doens't even have to die. They put effort into this, and just forgot about Thane.
