THAT is what I would have loved to have seen and heard! It's so sad but perfect.
Oh BioWare what did you do???? My heart is broken in so many ways and my head is going to explode. Thane's death, the endings, that script.....I'm so traumatized in ways I have never been before...and by a video game of all things!
I can't even do my everyday life things because I feel like I'm really in mourning. No one understands me (not even my bf which hurts alot) ...just all of you fellow Mass Effect lovers. These are the times when I really appreciate these forums and all of you in them. Thanks for making me feel like I'm not a lunatic nerd who should grow up and get over it.

Would have preferred the final flashback to the prayer SO MUCH.
Bioware's response: we forgot Thane was a romance.
How can something like that be forgotten?
Just an excuse for a group of lazy writers. Thane? Who's Thane again?? Oh RIGHT. The green guy on the COVER. Ooops.
Getting some honest response as to why and how they forgot would be really nice and I might actually get their point. Though it's really difficult to believe that it was all due to failed memory. Hell even if it was intentionally done getting some response as to why would have been something. It wouldn't make me happy but at least I would be able to see their reason behind it.

Wishlist for Thane
1. OPTION for a cure/prolonged life. Doesn't have to be puppies and rainbows. Have him live to the end of the game and get stranded with the rest of them(it also shouldn't be an easy, magic-wand type deal)
2. If he dies, have Shepard react appropriately.
3. If he dies, have the crewmates react appropriately
4. Show him in the final flashback instead of Liara
5. Fix the graphics issues (Shep's hands are like a foot above Thane's when they greet)
6. Stop forcing us toward the VS. We went to the Citadel to see Thane, not VS
7. Happy times with Thane that unlock the Paramour achievement
Anything else?
I think she sums it up perfectly at what I'd personally like to see changed/fixed.

I agree.
I think that covers most of what we would like.

I honestly don't believe the "We forgot" statement, but it sure pisses me off.
They can't have forgotten unless completely different writers did the end scene as did the greet scene.
Shepard can paragon-kiss him, and you hold hands, and you can request some privacy.

Actually, I couldn't hold his hand. Shep's hands are about 5 inches above his.

I didn't know if she was trying to unzip his vest or grope his chest but utterly failing in the process
And Thane sinking into bed in his death scene. As much as I bawled I couldn't unsee that.

Thane: I can think of no one better, siha.Your memory is not like mine, but perhaps you can keep me in it for a little while.
Shepard: You're not an easy person to forget, Thane.
That would have made me content, right up until the part where the flashbacks hit and I see Liara. I would have raged to the point of no return. Imagine that horror, he asks you keep him in your memories and you get Liara as your last thought. I would have cried so hard. They need to fix this, I've never had such an aversion to a game until now. I once said I would never play FFXII again (it was horrible) but after this game, I'd gladly play it again.

The first time I saw this scene, it was indeed weird. But then my Shepard became way too forgiving with Kaidan and had given him a bottle of booze she'd recently purchased without my instruction, so I reloaded. The second time I saw the scene, it looked like how I'm sure it was intended - she was running her fingers affectionately over his hands and forearms.

I agree. The Miranda death scene was handled incredibly well. There was actual emotion from everyone involved, declaration of feelings, ME2's romance theme, a final kiss.
It basically had everything Thane's death didn't. Which is messed up when you consider Thane's death is a FORCED event and Miranda's death can be prevented.
It just goes to show how little BioWare thought of Thane and fans of his character. We were given scraps and it shows.

Never lose hope
Siha,
I write this with a heavy hand, knowing
you will read this letter when I am no longer able to share my
thoughts. I am dying, Siha. Perhaps because of the differences
between our species, I can hope that time will treat you with
kindness and dim the hurt of my passing to faded recollections that a
drell would forever remember with perfect clarity. Selfishly,
however, I could not leave this world without leaving a piece of my
behind that would never fade.
I once accepted my fate. Nothing
remained but a shell destined to die. I only had to choose the when
and how of my passing. I had refused to be confined to a bed, gasping
horribly as my life beeped away to machinery I had no use for. I
thought if my Irikah, broken, bloodied, and betrayed by my absence.
Of Kolyat, small and afraid, bravely pushing at his eyes to stem the
flow of tears I had entrusted to him to cry... for both our sakes.
The expectation to move swiftly to my
end vanished upon uniting with your cause. You awoke me, Shepard. My
heart quickened its sluggish beat if only to remain at your side and
protect you with everything that I am. I was content to simply watch,
take the time left given and praise all I know for allowing me to
walk my final days with hope and certainty that I am worthy of more
than my cold isolation, solely because you believed.
I love you. If all else whispers back
into the tide, know this for fact. By grace give me by the Goddess
Arashu, I bid her divine protection to you, my warrior-angel, my
Siha, to sicceed in your destiny. To light your path through the
coming darkness. To give you hope, when all seems lost.
I will await you across the sea

Exactly
They put more effort in a scene for a character that most people will keep alive. So most won't even get this scene.
Yet for Thane who is dead in everyone's playthrough they put no real effort at all.
