Thanks for the banner, Aislinn!

True and I certainly wouldn't complain. I really hope Keythe does it, voice filters or no.

I had major issues with this as well. Shepard also tells Liara that Thane's Kepral's isn't bad yet. Nothing in his LotSB medical report suggests he only has three months to live, either. Yet when we meet him again he's in the final stage of his disease and tells you the prognosis his doctor gave him - which is he only had 3 months to live 9 months ago. Something just does not add up about all of that. Either it's a retcon or he knew and kept it from Shepard? That does not sit well with me.

I also hate that they lost out on so much time. Six whole months wasted. It makes me really sad. They probably never visted the desert they talked about. Even when they're reunited at the hospital in ME3, the game barely givees Shepard any opportunity to spend time with him.

Being a Thanemancer makes that whole "six months detained" even worse.  That is another character immersing flaw in this game for me:  I only played Arrival once, but there was NO WAY I would've had my Cate, Ulee, or Mace Shepard voluntarily going back to the Alliance to "face the music".  Those Shep's would've kept their stolen ship, started gathering tech, data, allies you name it, and used the SB resources to gather intel and stay connected to Anderson and Hackett.  All my Shepards respected both of them, but they still would NOT have willingly surrendered.  They would have kept feeding everything they could to those men, but would still have done it on her own terms.

Bah!  Need to write some fanfic....it's just to bad it will end up being so damn AU.Posted Image

The more I listen to ME2's soundtrack it just feels like ME2 was more epic than ME3. Sure ME3 made me emotional but I wasn't sitting in my seat like I did during the collector base. I always sit in my seat when doing the collector base, even after having replayed it like... 5 times now.

Something went horribly wrong between ME2 and ME3 and the biggest one was the treatment of ME2 LIs. :S

I just don't get the option for NO good ending at all. I have seen VERY few movies and games that actually END that badly. Actually I can't name anyone right now even. Yes, a horror movie actually.

Almost makes me wish that the ME series ended at ME2 instead with the collectors being the most dangerous thing threatening the galaxy. >.>

I would suggest checking out "A Serbian Film", "Salo: the 120 Days of Sodom", "Irreversible", "August Undergrounds Mordum" and so on...those endings will have you feeling like you need a shower...A serbian film in particular has one of the most unsettling, depressing endings in any medium I've ever seen

**SPOILER**
Basically every protagonist gets killed, including the young son involved and the last scene you see is people in the room about to rape the young boys dead body.  the last lines are actually "start with the little one first"...in Irreversible we witness a 20, BRUTAL (and I mean, unreal brutal) rape of Monica Belucci's character, it "ends" (if that's what it is, the movie starts at the end and ends at the beginning before the horror starts, so...) with the woman in a coma without any likelihood of ever waking up without incredible brain damage (during the rape the guy basically bashes her skull open on the pavement).  In Salo, the whole movie consists of middle aged guys bringing young teens and locking them in a house, then spending a month doing everything to can imagine, from brutal torture to forcing them to eat feces.  Then taking them all out back and torturing them to death.  No happy ending, everyone just gets brutalized, one guy gets a saudering iron on his groin..and then it ends.
**END SPOILER**

The depressing stuff is out there if you're willing to seek it out...frankly, I felt like I needed to "wash" the films off after seeing them

I too have seen/read a number of depressing, morose, cryptic, and sometimes just "bad" ending movies and books, in my 42yrs of life.  But once I got into my mid 30's, I found myself shying away from that type of storytelling.  Life does a good enough job at showing us the "uglies" in the world, combined with loved ones dying/hurt, a sense of mortality, and enough grey to occasionally suck the color right out of this crazy place, I don't really need to add to this with my  entertainment.  A bit of angst, grey, moody, or apathy (in small doses), does me just fine.  The rest of the time, I wish for hope, peace, comfort, passion, and the thrill that comes from triumph.  Yes folks, I admit.  I LOVE Freekin' Disney!  HA!  Gimme some....what are the words everyone has been using lately......"rainbows, unicorns and fluffy bunnies.  Yup!  Give me that.Posted Image

Thanks for this, now I can relive one of the best moments ever without having to suffer through the game.  Even if Thane had been saved, I would have done this anyway.  This hurts you, Kai Leng.

I doubt any of us care if it goes through the BW filters - his own voice is so close to Thane's it's good enough for me!

And perhaps we all need a little of this for ALL the issues with Thane, his legs slipping through the table, etc. etc. etc.

I'm almost finished with my second playthrough but it's been hard. I don't care. Everythings been tainted. It's not just Thane, it's the way they handled all of the ME2 characters. The tacked on ending is the cherry on top to this pile of crap.

Damn so much happened in two days. On this thread I mean.

I actually stopped my Margurite PT immediately after Thane died. So I went on to Margaret and am doing the Garrus romance. I hope that one at least has a happy ending. My poor heart can't take anymore.

Also, someone else would have likely already confirmed this, but I'll put it here on the off chance it wasn't. But since last time I was here we were stil wondering what happened to Thane after the Citadel invasion if we didn't talk to him, I decided to test it in Margaret's PT. So I can now confirm that he will never show up. If you want Thane in your game at all, you need to see him when he is in the hospital, otherwise, the Salarian Councillor dies, and Thane is never seen again. It becomes as if he never existed, so either way he's doomed to die, it just a question of how: alone, off screen, never to be seen, or fighting to protect those his society and his Siha depend on.

I guess we all know which one we will pick.

Great banners Aislinn. I'm going to add them right now. And that Gif.... perfect. That is a VERY satisfying moment.

I added the sig as well - thanks Aislinn!

And as much as I like that gif - NOT satisfying enough. It would have been better if while KL was sneaking up on Shep, Thane came out of no where and did him in himself. Better assassin indeed....

I'm doing the Garrus romance also, and it's pretty good. Sometimes it makes me a little bitter that Thane didn't get this kind of treatment.
I have two shepards for Thane. I finished, but I'm not sure I could do the other.Posted Image

I have a Garrus PT I could do as well, but I just don't think I can take all the lack of Thane. Period. I have another 4 Thane romances, but I can't bring myself to do any. Although one is a full on renegade...perhaps she can wreak havoc on the galaxy....
