I'm more mad at Shepard's lack of ACTION during that scene. Just shot Kai Leng already, don't just stand there.

@lyssalu - hmmmm.....optimism not strong. You are right; they need to go back and do soo much over, and that's about as likely as me birthin' a Krogan.

Wish, wish, wish, for new content and to fix character assassinations, and give me back a Shepard I can roll with....Damn! Half the time I wanted to "shush" her, tweek her nose, or just plain back-hander. Ungk!

Negative Nellie aside (got I miss Nellie Olsen....is that where that saying comes from...*giggle/snort*), I will continue to fight. What can I say, I'm a glutton for punishment....CHARGE!!!

how optimistic are you guys about character centric dlc?

i just watched the kai leng vs thane fight and saw his death for the first time so um

i mad

all of it was so awkward and bs and i want them to change it

they just did not work very hard on it at all

i'm so mad at shepard's reaction

just all of it

ugh

so poorly done

Not very optimistic at this point.

That scene made no sense. Shepard and the two squadmates you take with you just stand there with their guns pointed at him and don't shoot. Sheard just leaving him there was even worse.
They need to fix that scene and a lot more when it comes to Thane.

Exactly
Why would he do that.
This is biowares idea of an epic fight scene I guess.

Not to be on BW's side, but in a fight, you are best to close the distance on someone with a long blade, as it renders it basically useless.  What's unfortunate about that particular scene is it looks like Thane purposely skewered himself.  Weak.  And a pathetic way to make him "injured" to die.  Posted Image

I come with a new poll!  The creator asked me to post on the Take Back the Love thread but I thought I'd dump it here as well!

Love the TOP pic btw....made me giggle, and I so needed it. I think I am going to go join PDS under Thane's table in Life Support....I'll mind the puke.

So, who's up for another round of Twitter attacks?

I am. I'm a bit burned out from reading, "The Trial of the Assassin Guiteau" (he wasn't a very good assassin at all, btw).

And as I enjoy another coffe break from my painting (waiting for segments to dry...) I have more Thane fanfic banter!

Joker/Thane

Joker:Wy, hello there Mr Krios! Long time no see huh?
Thane: It's good to be back. Even if there are fewer faces that I remember.
Joker:Yeah changing employer all of a sudden does have that impact. After all I'm an expert at quitting at my job and coming back.
But, I wanted to ask you something Thane?
Edi: Jeff, I do hope you realise I can hear you no matter where my platform is situated.
Jeff: Oh yeah I know Edi, But anyway...I've alwasy been curious..
Thane: Yes, Jeff?
Joker: Does the commander hallucinate when she "drellicks" you?
Thane: I.that's...I...would not be comforable sharing that.
Joker: Aw, cm'on I'm never going to find out am I?
Thane: No.
"Vega can be heard over comm radio": Hahaha! You owe me 20 credits eh Bromista?
Jeff: Aw, **** and I really did want know, because you know for science?

(Bromista=Clown in spanish)

Garrus/Thane
Garrus: Aw cm'on a little harmless sniping contest won't harm anyone, besides you need to be at your best, Thane.
Thane: I believe sniping inside the Normandy is not the Commander's idea of recreation or Edi's.
Garrus: Then we'll have it when we see som action next. See who can take down the most Husks, Cannibals, Maradeurs you know the usual stuff.
Thane: If that will satisfy your need for recreation then very well. Although I a small warning: I will aim with the proficency of an assassin not a friend.
Garrus: Ha, Vigilante vs Assassin that's a first!

And a follow up of Garrus/Thane

Thane: So the total is...50 points if my calculations are correct.
Garrus: Wait, that's my score too!
Thane: It seems we have a tie on our hands.
Garrus: I know a way to settle it! We could have a close combat fight! My turian reach versus flexible drell biotics! Uh...wait..that...was an image...ok that metaphor went someplace beyond horrible.
Thane has a very confused look and before he can respond...
Garrus: Uh I'll just return to my calibrations, uh *cough* yeah.
Thane: And I to my meditations.
(Oh yes, I have no qualms making poor Garrus squirm muhaha)

And these got drowned a couple of pages ago so I decided I would reposted them.
(We need moar Thane to keep the depression at bay:crying:)

Some Thane/Edi (after Legions death)
Edi: I have an inquiry for you Sere Krios.
Thane: You have but to ask Edi.
Edi: You were always civil to me. Even when Legion came aboard the Normandy SR2. You did not fear us or view us with suspicion. This platform whishes to know, why?
Thane: Because there is no need to fear A.I.'s more than organic life. Just because the body of an A.I is not made of flesh and bone does not mean it is not living.
Edi: I do not fully comprehend your reasoning.
Thane: Our bodies are not our true self, the soul is.
Edi: You consider me to have a soul?
Thane: Yes, you and Legion both. Legion's passing to the sea is a memory I will honour.
Edi: Would you do the same for me should this platform ever cease functioning?
Thane: Yes, though I suspect Joker will be even more enclined to do so.
Edi: My hardware does not support a response reflective enough of this platform's wishes. To use a metaphor on an organic saying "Your words increase my PSU temperature" is most accurate.

And here's another Javik/Thane (Assuming Javik looked in the Memory crystal):
Thane: You have been eyeing me constantly the past hour, is something troubling you?
Javik: That which you do not speak of.
Thane: I 'm not sure I follow you.
Javik: You once had a burning vengeance within you.
Thane: Ah, I see, yes I had a long time ago.
Javik: Your..."battlesleep" was broken by...a female of your kind.
Thane: True, she was a vivid person.
Javik: Her death also prompted your path of vengeance, a vengeance you later wished redemption for.
Thane: "He screams. Words of pain reaching my ears. Two pair of eyes conveyeing fear. I show none, only fury for her death as I end his life slowly"
Javik: Vengeance in the name of affection and allies do not need redemption.
Thane: I chose to kill the ones responsible for her death. My redemption lie in making the galaxy a brighter place.
Javik: My vengeance will only stop when the Reapers are gone. And my redemption will be peace.

(I know I use ME2 phrase references aplenty when writing these, but in my defense ME2 was awesome!)

Probably because there probably was one.

I always throught that scene was rather awkward. I mean, we can forgive Thane for being a little less than he was in ME2, he's supposed to be dying now. But Kai Leng is just as awkward, and he's supposed to be the badass that can take out the best assassin in the galaxy!

It's just, just wrong.

LOL. I have a problem with dry eyes.

I know right. When Kai is laying there my whole squad would have pumped him with enough rounds to make a whole in the floor.

I love these dialogues. I can really see them happening. Shame they didn't.

And now before I make myself completely depressed, I'm going to go get ready for my appointments. Toodles!

I don't know how Kai Leng was in the books, but I didn't think he was that great in the game.
He wasn't that much of a challange in my opinion. If Thane had been 100% Kai Leng would have probably died then.

I need to revise my above statement to add, "And hope I haven't been flooded out." It's been raining for 3 days straight and where I am tends to flood at the slightest provocation.

Totally off topic, but I need to ask because my friends aren't responding and I'm getting worried. Is anyone here from Townsville? How bad was it, and are you all okay?

EDIT: Heard from one. But now their storm is heading my way. If I'm not here for a few days, I'll be okay, Shell, Angie, Tasha. Don't worry.

Well myth, I'll keep my eyes peeled for you on the news, standing on a bale of hay, waiting for the flood water to subside, Alistair in one hand and a Thane plushie in the other :)
They'll be commenting on how this crazy woman has a stuffed animal and a computer - neither which are helpful in a flood (ok maybe Thane could soak up some water, but he has Kepral's and that's not very nice!)

ME TOO it infuriated me!! How is it cowardly to attack someone when you only have enough strength to "go somewhere private" with Shepard one out of the million times she visits you?!? It was damn heroic! Stupid, though. I wouldn't have minded if the councilor died.

Kai Leng is the worst assassin ever. He's not even scary. He has an interesting character design, but he never 'struck me with fear', so to speak. I found him annoying more than anything else. When he killed Thane, however, I did get a little bit of vengeance mode/tunnel vision on him.

I remember just continuously blasting him in the face with my Black Widow, even though I knew he wasn't getting hurt during the shield recharge.

He didn't seem to have any good lines, either. I wanted him to be more biting, insulting, conniving and intelligent. None of those traits really manifested.

Since he's a big fat racist, I thought it would have been cool if he had insulted your Shepard in some way if you were in a romance with an alien (Thane, Tali, Garrus, Liara, whatever). The Illusive Man would surely know about this, since he spied on you for the entirety of ME2.
