No death scene at all, there is no notice of Thane's death if Shepard doesn't talk to him before the Citadel Coup.

Boy have you all been busy around here.  It is so disheartening to see posters that want to remove choice from an RPG game, AND feel the need to define others by their illness.  I keep wondering if age, privilage or being sheltered plays a part in to some of these peoples views. 

By the time I reached my 40s, I had lost loved ones (family members and friends) to terminal illness (and a few accidents).  And I have continued to learn of others in my life who have become ill, but have not yet passed.  This will happen to everyone, at some point.  Some deal with it at younger ages than others, but everyone will face it.  Everyone will face loss; no one is immortal.  For some of us, these games give us a chance to take control of things that we CAN NOT in real life.  That doesn't mean that the fantasy world that these games exist in shouldn't reflect something of real life.  BUT, if you make a character/s that people will become emotionally connected to (and as an RPG writer this should immediately be assumed if you are making said character/s ROMANCEABLE), allowing for our actions (like a successful LM....just an example) and our choices to impact life or death of said character is (dare I say) expected. At the very least, hoped.

I'm not entirely sure how coherant this is, but I just thought I would add to the discussion.  Been a somewhat miserable day.

On that note.....I need to cheer myself up.  I'll see what I can muster.

I just wish there was more to even Thane's friendship. As bro-material, he was first rate (as a romance, he's completely higher functioning melting, but I'm going to assume given the thread, y'all noticed that). Headcanon's nice and all, but it's not the same. Filling in the blanks gets annoying.

PDS - " Look, Sinead, Im goddamn Companer Shepard...I ain't scared of ***t!  I even have a picture of what I want....stole it from that weird lookin lady in Zaeeds room.....who the hellisshe anyway.....psst, I think she wans to getn my pants."
Vega- "Sober up for a day, and I think a bunch of us would want to get in your pants, Lola."
Jack- "Speak for your self, ape.  She needs more than a day dry to clear the fumes outta her pipes.  She is over-ripe!"

Thane in Hallucination Form- "Siha, this will accomplish nothing.  It will only cause you more grief and pain.  Possibly more pain than grief, judging by Jacks needle."
PDS- "I just don't want to forget you Thane......and.....oo,oo......anytime anyone ever sayz, 'who da hell is Shane? whatz a Dell, I'll just pull a Mardi Gras on der arsses!  See....<tongue click>....always thinkin"
Vega- "Who the hell is she talking to?  Listen mama, you want something memorable on your chest, well....<cheezy arse grin>

they did this with morinth, as well, except you're never given any other option than to see her as a banshee.

Great, hanar! That scene was the first coming to my mind when I sah Kai Leng with his sword. I really loved the original scene in Raiders!
Would have liked to see Thane or Shep just doing the same to KL in the game ... because I think that would fit perfect to KLs story arc: Considering the arguments of the devs and many players for Thanes death the old fashioned weapon is the only thing that makes KL kind of special, right?^^

I lurked at the thread discussing if people want a cure for Thane (or not). Have been disappointed about most of the arguments and lack of compassion of the "against cure" posters because the most stressed arguments are the "story arc" and "character definition by death".
Well, if Thane is defined by his disease only and get's no chance of a cure (even there are hints in the game how to handle that properly) what about Tali? For me a big part of her charakter and story arc is her wish to get her homeworld back. And she gets her chance for that. Wouldn't it be more tragic if players would have no chance to fulfill her wish and so she would commit suicide, no matter what you do (and fans want)? That would deepen her charakter so much, giving much more drama to it like it does to Thanes story arc and character, wouldn't it? Why do Tali fans have the chance to get Rannoch back to the Quarians?
Why only we Thane fans get the slap in the face?

What if they release some new dumbas$ DLC character and put them in...*gasp* life support. OMG tell me they would not do that. Please tell me.

I really hope they don't do that.
I don't want someone else sitting at the table, or have Shepard sitting at the table across from them like with Thane. I also don't want someone coming in there and turning it into something I don't recognize like Liara did with Mirandas office. Her Shadow Broker junk is everywhere.
