Yeah, they ****ed up. Bad.

Because the way I am reading things...they compared it to CF, simplified it, and gave him an "easier day-to-day life than the average person with cystic fibrosis goes through." But they couldn't cure the simplified version? Just getting my head around a few things. Feel free to ignore me. I'm working on a large thought process, on an empty stomach.

I miss the days back when I was in NSAS and still had hope for Thane's romance in ME3. When there was a point to trying to finish my fic, and there were luls all around.

Now it just... depresses me. All of this. I still have my (aborted) ME2 Thanefic, and I can't stand to even look at its folder sitting there. I mean, the endings were mediocre enough, but even if they fixed them, my Shep would still end up LI-less. It will be a big enough undertaking for them to redo/make more endings, so far as man hours in voice work and other programming work. I guess just adding some dialogue to Thane and altering the Citadel Coup would be smaller by comparison, but that is still more. Extra. Would they bother?

I want them to, but part of me is so very not hopeful anymore. *sends her Shep off to cry on her BroGarrus' shoulder*

I need to find Neiti's old fic about Shep almost dying and her having that conversation with Irikah because that was solid gold. And something my b/f said about the ending reminded me of it. He said if they'd at least fix the stupid flashbacks at the end, to where femSheps who romanced Thane could at least see his face last before they died it'd help it a little. Would be a, as he put it "I'm coming home now, Thane." moment. It might help it some, but I'd still rather him be alive, and me not have to kill EDI/Caprica and the nice Geth I worked so hard to get to be peacable with the Quarians to save my own ass too....

The sad thing is in the spoiled released script things looked a little more put together, His mission had to do with the Drell and Hanar, The Hanar take his sacrifice and say that because of him all Drell are free of the compact, and maybe I am delusional but I seem to remember a more dramatic, heart wrenching death scene. Too bad none of that was kept.

the other thing that really bothered me was the way femshep said, "we could spend a little time together???" or whatever it was.  now, i normally love her voice actor, and maybe she was directed to say the line that way, but i didn't come of very romantic, just... inappropriately horny.

that said... ahem.... i didn't mind the embrace in front of the window, and i admit that thanes vocalization at that moment gave me a very funny feeling...

okay, maybe i should go.  *kolyat facepalm*  g'night ya'll, it is a relief to be able to talk about it all here, and oddly enough, i feel much cheerier about it than i have in the last week.

Yeah Thane's growls always give me a *ahem* funny feeling.
It was a little trashy, the way the line was phrased, like suddenly we're in 2-bit theater lol. Trying to be seductive and failing!
But yeah I'm of two minds about the window scene. Because 1. It's sort of blatant. But on the other hand, 2. It's sort of blatant. *whistles*

And also, Thane groping Shepard is always good in my books. Need more of that ****

I wasn't too pleased with how Hale delivered the line about "spending some time together", I think it would have sounded better a little huskier, maybe more of seductive whisper.

But Thane's voice...all his lines during that first interaction...well I could say some things about it that would probably make Mr. Keythe Farley blush

We're all in this mess of disappointment together, it does help being able to talk to other people who feel the same way about it!

The entire reunion of my Shep and Thane felt off to me. I've said this before. Shep's VA at that point just wasn't hitting the mark for me. And even something about Thane's was kind of bugging me at points. I can't put my finger on just what, which is a common theme for me in ME3, it seems. just want to agree with you about the voice acting for the scene generally - it almost seems as though they just spliced together takes from different scenes to get it, and it doesn't seem to go with the graphics.  actually just looked at it on youtube before i came back here and saw your comment.

thane says "siha," almost like "hey, i'm going to the store," or "the mailman left a package for you" or something.  in his next statement about earth being under attack he sounds emotional and relieved to see her, and i can almost imagine that it was a recording for a scene where they reuinite under more dire circumstances.  that, or he should have embraced her, his actions should have matched the emotion of the words.

she says, "thane!  it's been too long!" in the same light-hearted, creepy-face way that she later uses to ask for private time.  the voices seem normal for a minute, and then thane says, "what are you doing here?" in the panicked voice again.

and lets just not even go into her clapping him on the shoulder like he's her little buddy or something.

seriously, i'm going to bed.  also, maera, i am sorry that things are not going well for you.  i hope it all looks up for you soon.  *hug*

Aww I think Keythe did the best he could with the lines he was given *shrug* I'd love to hear him read the LOTSB letter out loud...better yet have him read it as a voiceover as Shepard reads it after he dies. Yeah, I like sappy, cliche stuff like that

At times it didn't sound like they were in a relationship at all. It sounded like a conversation between friends or aquaintances.

Yes, omg, the one from Kaidan was actually really, really good. Ashley's was okay, but Kaidan's really was good. Love Raphael Sbarge, Kaidan...not so much.
