Should Thane spend those last months with his son if he isn't treated? Yes and no. Ideally that would make sense if he didn't romance Shepard (where I would guess he'd spend a little time with both of them) but Thane himself said that the relationship with Kolyat is "not something that can be fixed with a few words." Thane seems to be a man who focuses on the big picture, and I'm not sure spending all that time with Kolyat would be healthy after such a rocky relationship in the past--I'd expect him to keep striving for the good of the galaxy while keeping in close contact with Kolyat. It would only be when/if he becomes bedridden that I can see him spending time with Kolyat, and even then it would be difficult--that perfect memory isn't always a good thing. I can't see him wanting to put Kolyat through his death.
tl;dr: If the relationship between father and son wasn't so broken, I could see Thane spending the last months with Kolyat, no question. But with Thane's martyrdom and Kolyat's reluctance, combined with the ugliness of the disease, I don't see it playing out fully.
This is supposed to be a happy thread (y'know, minus the lifespan talk. "...Is this the lifespan talk? I'm not having the lifespan talk!"). Let's keep it that way

YMMV, as always.
And as for drell navels? I like to say no, just because it makes them seem more alien. But I'm sure we'll find out in ME3. Thane doesn't want to cover up his chest due to the Kepral's right? As it progresses, he's just going to have to shed more and more clothing. By the time he's actively coughing, we'll have a half-naked drell roaming the Normady.
You can't argue. It's science
