All good points above and too lazy to quote them..and a bit peeved that my dog ate my cheetos. I do hate the "we always knew it would come to an end" line. At first I was like, "since when? and I really hope this isn't some backwards way of dumping my Shep or I'll yank you out of that chair and backhand you." First time the thought of smacking him ever crossed my mind, at least in a negative sense.

Seeing him sitting in that chair looking so down and sad was NOT romanced Thane. Maybe could be an unloyal Thane but not the one my Shep fell in love with. Pitiful.

The making out in front of the window...oh man. First of all, the line leading up to it made Shep sound like a horny teenager interested in one thing only. Or he was a meal, either way, it was painful to hear. Next, the actual making out..really? That was not my Shep and that was not Thane. Don't know who they were but the kissing, the noises, the groping right there in front of everyone. WTF... I don't know if I should laugh, cry or both. Totally OOC for both of them. Not to mention if one can get past the "want to spend a little time alone together" delivery, I assumed alone together to mean leaving the patient lounge...not that animalistic display in public. And what was that noise Shep made at the end? My first thought, after the initial stunned silence, was "Shep I think you better check for a puddle under your feet." My husband heard that and he said, "what was that? Did she just have... oh nevermind, I don't want to know." Yeah, neither do I.

Yeah they need to fix this, it's just painful to watch.

I don't know why they keep ignoring us. All we ever asked for was for an option to save him or prolong his life and a good continuation to his romance. We didn't get any of that. They seem to go out of their way to please other fanbases who have made one demand after another. For some reason they just ignore us.
I thought they like his character. The worked so hard on him, and now the don't seem to care.

I haven't had faith in Bioware since I read the leaked files. I'm trying to have some hope that they might fix it but I just don't know.

I could have lived quite happily if they had done his romance justice and given us a chance to save him.

And this is the last game in the series. This is pretty much the last time we will ever see him, or any other Mass Effect character. This is what we get, a single, Keprals based conversation and then death.

The first kiss with Thane was fine. The second would have been fine in private, but in front of the window was just wrong. Then Shepard making that porno noise at the end.

Doesn't she tell Thane that Kaidan was hurt trying to protect her? That's not really the way I saw it so I don't know why they have her saying that to him.

@Visii I know, if we had just had that choice. And people don't understand why we're upset. I get so angry when the VI people say "But we had to deal with what you're dealing with now in ME2, and we didn't **** like you guys!"
...you *knew* Kaidan/Ashley were coming back in the third game. We have no hope for another game with Thane in it.
I really can't play ME3 again. I don't want to think that I only played Mass Effect for Thane, because of course that isn't true, but at the same time he was a major reason why I loved it so much.
And it's so upsetting to know bioware isn't paying attention or responding to us. The best we get on twitter is "we'll relay your suggestion to the devs!" Yeah right. Sorry I'm in a hopeless mood right now. Especially since they plan on "explaining" the ending instead of changing it. Seems like they're not willing to fix things about the game.

@JECW Yeah it's just stupid. Kaidan wasn't trying to protect her. He and Liara were closer to the pre-EDI than Shepard was.

The VS fans who say that can't compair the two becasue they are not the same.. As you said they knew their favorite was coming back in ME3. Bioware told them this. They were getting worried for absolutely no reason.
ME2 romances have no fourth game to come back to. This was it and bioware promised us that all romances would be treated equally. What they gave us isn't what I would call equal.
Maybe it's there version of equal, but it's not mine.

That's what I thought.
He was protecting Liara. Shepard was on the other side of the shuttle with Vega when that fembot attacked Kaidan. She wasn't anywhere near him.
I have know idea why Bioware has her saying that to Thane.

If you truly had to deal with what we were dealing with now, your VS would have been taken by the collectors and it would have been them instead of Lilith in that tube on the collector base. You would have gotten no real closure, watching the one you loved die without any way of saving them, no..they do not get to say, "we had to deal with what you are dealing with now." Not to mention the fact that everyone knew they'd be back in 3..this is it folks, this was our LAST shot with Thane, there is no 4, he died and this is the BEST they can come up with. Garbage logic.

As for Kaidan protecting Shep, no he wasn't and why that was in the dialogue is beyond my scope of comprehension. Eva was nowhere near me and last I checked, didn't he approach her and initiate his own ass beating? I think he did because I was too busy holding up Liara. His fault, he wasn't protecting anything other than his own perceived manhood.

Why they thought Shep had to be apologetic to Kaidan and then portray him as some knight in shining armor to Thane is wrong. No wonder Thane felt like Shep didn't need him by her side...BW made sure of it by rubbing delusional thoughts of Kaidan's heroism toward Shep right under Thane's nose. Thanks for taking my Shep and changing her feelings, I appreciate it. She reciprocated the Kaidan love you tried to foist on me by shooting him.

I think Kaidan was helping Liara when Eva appeared. From what I remember he pushed Liara back a litlle. By the time Shepard got over there Eva had Kaidan by the neck and started slaming his head againts the other shuttle.
I didn't see anything that looked like he was protecting Shepard. 
I don't get why that was even written in there.

I know!  Why on earth my Shep stood there so long negotiating with that "thing" was ridiculous!  She would have fired on it long before it wounded Kaidan.  And why was he off by himself anyway?  It's his own damn fault.  There was a part of me that wished there was the "renegade shoot Kaidan yourself interrupt", but no.  Instead I go see my love and tell him that I'm there to see Kiadan??  Oh so many kinds of wrong....

I just don't see why we can't tell Thane that we went to see him. Yeah Kaidan is injured, sure I'll visit him. But I didn't hurry to the Citadel as soon as I saw Thane's msg, to visit Kaidan.....

If only there had been an option there to decide whether you wanted to say "To see you" or "To see Kaidan" and if you picked "To see you" Kaidan would leave you alone for the rest of the game and Thane would come aboard the Normandy instead of him.

A lot of that first conversation with Thane seemed to be centered around Kaidan. I just don't get it.

Yeah there has been loads of posts about not being attracted to the "aliens" of the game.  I guess Kaidan is the default.  But I agree - he's too whiny for me.  And actually, they made him even moreso in ME3 - which I'm sure isn't doing his character any justice either. 

It just seems like large sections of dialogue with Thane were cut or missing.  Like they had an idea of how they wanted it to go and then just removed sections.  All of it was disappointing.  To the point where I haven't played again.  I can't watch them butcher his character anymore.  He is too awesome for the treatment he gets.

I do like Kaidan. I have one loyal playthrough for him, but he isn't my favorite.
Bioware seems to only do this with Thane. I didn't notice any conversation about Kaidan with Garrus or Jacob.

@mayrabgood Haha I don't hate you, I'm just angry about what happened to Thane. And I agree with that, I think if Thane had been in ME1 he would have had as big a fanbase as Garrus or Kaidan. It's really upsetting. We all want more time with him, but are we going to get it?
If we do, I will stay loyal to Bioware for the rest of my life.
